morning and heading to the central valley westbound 580, 12 miles an hour as you come over from 205. 16 miles an hour, closer to altamont pass and we do have a minor collision reported off on the center divide, so i think that could be slowing you down further. also, noticing some low traffic on the eastbound side of the roadway. normally that is wide open this time of day as you probably know. we do have various lanes closed until 9:00 this morning. and that is for road work between greenville road and the 205 split. a quick check of the bay bridge toll plaza, car-pool lanes are open, a stackup in the cash lanes and should have 20 minutes to go until they turn on the metering lights. new developments in the teacher strike in the east bay. the state superintendent will be coming in to join negotiations today. >> it is day nine of teachers on the picket lines. the two sides met until 11:00 last night but can't seem to come to an agreement. reporter amy hollyfield live in union city. amy? >> reporter: the state superintendent getting involved

est last night golden state looked a little rusty in toronto coming off a nine-day layoff. steph curry l with 34 points. it was his sixth straight postseason game scoring 30 or more. golden state couldn't stop pascal siakam. he scored 32 points for the raptors. torre abc 7 is the only place to watch the series. we are waiting for game two now. it is sunday in toronto and our coverage begins with the dubs on 7 pregame show at 4:00 p.m., nba countdown at 4:30 and the game is at 5:00. be sure to stay with us after that for after the game with sports anchor larry beil. in the south bay a legal battle brewing over sound from train tracks. in a memo released yesterday mayor sam liccardo and some councilmembers called on the city attorney to explore possible legal action against union pacific railroad. in the past year the railroad started hauling at night which means train horns are going off at night.

many people are complaining. >> they're blaring horns not just a little bit but for 30, 60 seconds at a time. the obvious challenge for a lot of downtown residents they cannot get a good night's sleep. >> union pacific railroad said there is such a thing as a quiet zone for trains but it's up to the city to pursue that. the company also says they've reached out to the city to coordinate a meeting to talk about all of this. the man accused of intensionally running over a crowd of pedestrians in sunnyvale has been charged with two hate crimes. isaiah peoples is facing those charges on top of the eight attempted murder charges already filed. prosecutors say peoples targeted two of the victims, an indian hindu man and his 13-year-old daughter because he thought they were moslem. >> i feel confident that a substantial motivating factor was the perceived religion. >> isaiah peoples' relatives

were in court. they say they believe he suffers from ptsd as a result of his military service and continues to pray daily while he's in custody. south korean media reporting that north korea has executed its special envoy to the united states on spying charges. the south korean newspaper claims four other high level officials were also executed but it's unclear how the paper obtained this information. the government in seoul have a

b.a.r.t. says entries and exits dropped 8%. and meanwhile heads up. uber and lyft will move to the parking garage starting on monday. passengers will have to take the escalator up and make it to the fifth floor. the move is in an effort to end the traffic chaos. you can still be dropped off curbside, though. uber continues to lose money despite revenue growth.

we will quicker today, temperatures, look at this, rebound seven to 11 degrees warmer. 70s and 80s elsewhere. number five, looking at very few issues for the friday morning commute. one new problem has popped up but it's very minor in san francisco, northbound 101 connector to silver avenue. that is closed due to a solo vehicle collision. number six, the warriors drop game one in toronto falling 118-10 9. you can only watch the nba finals here on abc 7. this year's scripps national spelling bee ended in an eight-way tie and rishik gandharsi was among the winners. congratulations. each speller will get a $50,000 cash prize from scripps. right now thousands of homes are in danger after a levee breached early this morning and this comes after weeks of severe weather and flooding in the

area. residents near the levee being urged to evacuate right now as soon as possible. officials are saying they expect the worst and do not believe that conditions will improve. 15 to 20 inches of rain fell in the last two weeks. president trump has signed an emergency declaration for arkansas. we're watching the situation closely for you throughout the morning. thank you. a hearing is scheduled in chicago on a request to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate why charges were dropped against actor jussie smollett. remember, he's accused of staging a hate crime against himself. >> right. the hearing comes as chicago police release hundreds of pages of previously sealed documents from their investigation. abc's alex perez has those details in today's "gma first look." >> reporter: new police documents describing actor jussie smollett's relationship with two brothers who claim they were paid by the star to stage the now infamous alleged attack reported earlier this year.

according to the documents the brothers, who served alongside smollett as extras on the show "empire," telling police they enjoyed a social relationship with the star. at one point smollett allegedly asking one of them if they had any way to obtain marijuana, ecstasy and possibly cocaine for him. one said he threw smollett to the ground and began rubbing his knuckle into smollett's face trying to bruise him without hurting him too badly. we'll have more about the new information contained in those documents. with your "gma first look," i'm alex perez, abc news, chicago. and a little more on this now. those new documents in the smollett case show that chicago police knew a month before charges were dropped that there was a deal in the works. one person a $10,000 fine and do community

there could be some delays here. warmer this afternoon than yesterday. the warmth will taper this weekend before it surges especially inland with the 90-degree heat. san francisco, 65 today. a lot of low to mid-60s around the city. let's go over to the east bay and we'll see temperatures 73 in oakland. a lot of low to mid-70s. now fremont, castro valley warmer at 78. as we head to the peninsula, of course, it will be cool on the coast side. millbrae, 70. look at that. we'll be 77 in palo alto today. up in the north bay we'll have fog and then sunshine and temperatures surging to near 80 degrees. sauce lsalito will be 66. the south bay, 81 in san jose. upper 70s to low 80s here. santa cruz will be 73 with sunshine this afternoon. and concord, 84. our inland east bay neighborhoods, 81 to about 86 is your spread. free air conditioning at night. low to mid-50s. now even though the temperatures will taper just a little bit,

they will still be very comfortable as we head through sunday. then some air conditioning weather is possible tuesday and wednesday with those 90s inland. i hope you have a great weekend. here is alexis. good morning, mike. we are taking a look at the friday morning commute. so far mostly green on our traffic maps so that, of course, is good news. a little heavy, though, in either direction to and from the tracy area. westbound 580 near north flynn road, a two-car crash. chp is saying it is off on the center divide. however, you see a long line of red. part of that the normal backup. a lot of folks slowing down to look at it. i'm wondering if we have part of the left lane blocked. definitely plan on some delays getting out of tracy this morning. eastbound 580 between greenville and 205, various lanes closed until 9:00. you're looking at about a 15-minute delay for your commute. bay bridge toll plaza, no metering lights yet. car-pool lanes are open. they should be changing in the next five minutes or so.

musconi senator. >> reporter: amy klobuchar of minnesota was the name that rose packed cwd at a people med know where she stands on issues. she promised to work across the aisle and help reunite a country she believes is divided. political science professor melinda jackson says klobuchar has appeal especially to some of those democratic voters who maybe switched and went to president trump and can possibly be brought back over to the left. many who came out last night already support klobuchar. there were others who just want to hear her out. >> i grew up in the midwest and could see that midwestern quality in her personality which relates easily to a lot of people. >> i think she's a real problem solver, she approaches everything as a problem and we can deal with it, figure out how to handle it. >> and if you think -- >> reporter: congressman beto o'rourke will speak today

so town is representative adam schiff who will be at the commonwealth club. he is not running for president but is supposed to be speaking about the 2020 election. for now reporting live in san francisco this morning, jobina fortson, abc 7 news. >> thanks, jobina. you've heard a lot about manny's. it's hosted a lot of political events. five democratic presidential candidates have appeared there in the past two months. four others are expected within the next week. the owner tells us people need to meet these candidates one-on-one. >> it's really important for folks in the community to get to meet the people who are asking for their vote and their dollar. we do feel like the advantage here people have the ability to get some face time with these candidates. >> in a short time it's amazing what manny has done. the name was originally going to be centered around civic like town hall or common ground but feedback that it was a little too serious and might exclude people so he named it after

himself. >> that's good. >> manny's. the warriors have a couple days now to try to figure out what went wrong after dropping game one of the nba finals to the raptors in toronto. >> the dubs played after nine days off and it showed. toronto outplayed golden state for most of the night. pascal siakam scored a playoff career high 32 points in his nba finals debut leading the raptors to a 118-109 victory. after the game the warriors were confident they would come back strong in game two. >> we always had a chance and we didn't play well at all. you leave the game feeling as good as you can feel knowing that we lost but i think we figured some things out. >> we're not familiar with this team but that's no excuse. our goal was to get one. it's still on the table for us. i know we'll respond like the champions we are. >> after the game as draymond

crime. we're already getting an idea how she will spend the money. the mayor revealed she wants to put almost $12 million to programs to promote cleanliness. the money will go towards seven new staffed public toilets and dozens of new large trash cans. corporate america thinking twice this morning about their parental leave policies this just coming in to our live desk. jpmorgan chase paying $5 million to their male employees after a parental leave discrimination settlement. it is record breaking. the class action lawsuit says male workers were denied the same chance as female workers to stay home with their newborn child. the money will go to their male em settlement still needs the judge's final approval.

starting at 7:00, 50s. with all that sunshine this afternoon nearing 80 degrees. we'll still be in the upper 50s by 9:00. near 70 throughout the afternoon and a sunny 64 at 7:00. our last stop san francisco. we'll see more sunshine than yesterday and notice the temperature will be about seven degrees warmer in the low 60s this afternoon. an update on the 90s. first it's friday. i want to bring alexis in and a look at the roads. what should we expect? >> i have two new issues in the south bay. one on the lighter side. before the 280/680 split a solo vehicle crash. it sounds like there may have been a bulldozer on a wide load truck and it scraped another
