led. 11 of the 12 were veteran city employees. one was a contractor. four others were hurt. three of them remain in critical condition. the city's mayor praised heroism that likely saved many other lives. >> let me commend the officers, the people that ran into a building with active shooter shooting.45 caliber bullets and saved many people. >> the atf says the deceased gunman identified as 40-year-old dwayne craddock post the pistols. he was employed by the city as an engineer. in the east bay a fiery crash involving five cars killed a woman and injured other people. abc 7 news was at the crash site. investigators say a speeding tesla slam into a ford fiesta and a pickup truck. the fiesta rammed into two parked cars and caught fire.

one passenger died. she is identified as of north hollywood. a neighbor tried to help. >> i ran to the first floor and grabbed a fire extinguisher from there. i went to the car accident to see what i could do to help. >> that witness said they were trapped in the burning car. five people in the tesla were injured. an investigation into the crash downtown for about 12 hours. a 22-year-old man was driving the tesla. he is cooperating with police that say alcohol and drugs are not considered factors in the crash. new haven unified and striking teachers union will return to the table tomorrow. they tried to broker a deal to end the strike. the big roadblock is teachers salary. high school graduation ceremonies will continue with or

in the north bay, the rainbow flag is flying high. the police department tweeted this video. it shows offices along with the firefighter department raising the pride flag outside the city's public safety building. it will remain through june, lgbtq prides month. last week the city voted against raising the flag after some people questioned what other flags might then be allowed. nasa has hired three companies to help with
