of explosion at an industrial building on norman avenue. a viewer shared this photo with us. and you can see the smoke rising. the blast was first reported at about 4:45. we have no word on whether anyone was hurt. but we do have a crew on the way. and we will bring you an update when we learn more. there are new details emerging from friday's deadly shooting massacre at a virginia beach municipal building. city officials named the 12 people who died in the mass shooting, colleagues showed their photos and spoke about their lives they led, 11 of the 12 were government employees, and the 40-year-old dewane craddock legally purchased the .45 caliber pistols used in the massacre. he was killed in a shootout with police. in the east bay, police are identifying speed as a factor that involved a deadly crash of five cars. in downtun berkeley, a speeding tesla slammed into a ford fiesta

and a ford pick-up truck. and the fiesta ran into parked cars and caught fire. one passenger died who was in the fooe fiesta, take tonight hospital. she is kmonarq north hoywd. >> people were yelling and screaming, and then the guy in the blue shirt, he came, and they were singing really fast. they grabbed three fire extinguishers. from inside of the building. as they blew out the fire. >> that witness said luvette monarque and her sister were trapped in the burning car. her 32-year-old sister is in critical condition. five people in the tesla were injured. and an investigation in the crash shut down haste street downtown tofor about 12 hours saturday. a 22-year-old san leandro man was driving the tesla and cooperating with police and alcohol and drugs are not considered factors in the crash. in the south bay, it was a chance to check out the tools of the police trade today. the santa clara police department held its open house giving residents a glimpse at

its cruisers, mobile command center and when it really needs some reason form its tactical armored truck, the police did some demonstrations for those who showed up. the city of hayward today raised its gay pride flag in support of equality. the rainbow colored banner will fly high through the end of the month. hayward city council last month designated lbgtq, two spirit and gender nonconforming pride month. the action is to convey the city's pride and support for its lgbt plus residents and elected leaders elsewhere, whose efforts to celebrate pride has forced opposition. the warriors look to rebound tomorrow night following the game one loss to the raptors in toronto. the first time the dubs have lost an nb final game, nba final game under the coach. and more on draymond green with a different mentality. >> a second day of rest. a second day of preparation.

. a coast guard helicopter crew rescued a 70-year-old man from a sailboat 100 miles off the san diego coast. watch as a rescuer jumps into the water to secure the man in a basket, which is then hoisted back into the chopper. on land to check him out. no details yet on what ailed the man, and prompted the rescue. this is the incredible site of a boeing 737 jet in

jacksonville, florida. video from a body camera worn by a florida fish and wildlife officer showed the moments after the jet overran the runway near naval air station jacksonville, into st. john's river. by this time, the video was taken, all 143 people on board had made it off of the miami air military charter safely. there were heavy thunderstorms in the area when the jetliner came in to land. this is no ordinary rescue a blind dog winds up in a well. but it was no easy task. getting her out. how firefighters pulled it off. and meteorologist drew tuma is up next with the accu-weather forecast. >> just ahead, kevin durant makes a brief appearance on the court with the warriors. he is not playing in game two. how the

83 in fairfield. 85 currently in brentwood. but you get into the city, the cloud cover moving in overhead, we cooled off, to 59d degrees. and 71 in san jose. in sant rosa, getting that marine influence as well. at about 61 degrees. and also a little breezy out here. here issy. live doppler 7, along with the satellite, showing you some action over california. there is an area of low pressure, in southern california, right now, and that's where i see the eruption of some showers, to our south. we actually had a couple of thundershowers pop up, one over mount hamilton earlier this afternoon and another one right over ukiah. if you looked off to the horizon and saw the tall towering clouds, those are some thundershowers, dotting parts of our region. everything is quieting down in northern california. that area of low pressure is cranking our winds, so to speak. gusting to 26 right now, in the city. and 17 in hayward, and 15 in napa. oh, my gosh, novato, that must be a wrong measurement in the north bay.

overnight tonight, the cloud cover first along the coast. then it spills in and around the bay. we're used to this pattern around this time of the year. the temperatures dropping into the 50s the next 12 hours. time out the marine layer. future weather later on tonight and the cloud cover thick along the coastline and spilling into the east bay, from fran san francisco and then tomorrow morning, a fair amount of cloud cover around the bay, shoreline, and true summer-like pattern through the afternoon, the cloud cover pulls back to the coast and a lot of sunshine away from the coast. right now, in santa cruz, at the coast, look at these folks on the beach right now, they are bundled up. we see a lot of cloud cover, we saw a couple of drops on the lens, earlier, pretty much a similar story tomorrow heading to the coast. some sunshine but a cool sea breeze with temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s. the ocean water temperature is chilly at 53 degrees. highs on your sunday, a little bit cooler to finish off the weekend, compared to today. and 78 the high. and inland, we're at 62. and san francisco, afternoon sunshine, and 78 in san jose. and 68 in oakland and santa
