supervisors took up a proposal that wou definition of conservatorship. that's when a court orders someone to get treatment. city would have someone mentally ill get treatment. there are concerns over whether the city's facilities could handle an influx of patients. also, on the board of supervisors' list is trying to protect the future of the punk line comedy club. there is a zoning measure that would set a 45-day moratorium that could be expanded to 18 months to pre strength property from being used for anything but nighttime entertainment. google leased the company across from the comedy club and there are fears it could evict the punch line. google has said it wants to find a way for punch line to stay open. los angeles county has invested $42 million to respond to the homeless crisis. new numbers show homelessness is up by 12%. officials released the numbers from the count held earlier this year. they say there are nearly 59,000

valley. how are you still alive? >> i just keep going. >> what motivates? >> pushing my body to extreme. seeing how far i can go. testing the limits of human endurnlgs. and i like to motivate other people to get active so this kind of prong here, this chicken soup for the soul, running for good. it is about getting every day people out and moving. >> and you have stories about individuals. what moves you the most? >> it's 101 independent stories from 101 contributors. there are stories about people that have lost hundreds of pounds and are going to run a marathon and they could not walk to the end of their drive way. people that have overcome great adversity. cancer. they've lost loved ones and they're running for charity. you read it and you want to start running.

long distance runner is choose your parents well. >> i think that goes in a lot of walks of life. not just running. >> a lot of cross-training, good diet, and almost three decades of running 100-mile foot races, nonstop, i've never had an injury. >> i was surprised but you're on the keto diet. i found that shocking because you're not trying to lose weight. >> i just don't eat refined sugar. it gives you a great high and then a crash. so it stabilized my diet a lot. the keto diet. >> you're kind of a genetic freak. >> gee, thanks. >> i remember that you have the perfect running form so you don't get injuries. and you don't sweat. >> i live in marin. it's hot and i'm running with people sweating like crazy. why don't you sweat? i have no idea.
