leandro where he was wearing a police style uniform. someone posted video on social media showing taylor being led away in handcuffs. they say he also had a german sepherd, the same breed obviously used by police. live ammunition and magazines, and they believe taylor may have impersonated an officer in other parts of the bay area over the years. >> we're asking anybody who may have had experiences with mr. taylor to please come forward and let your local agency know about those. >> taylor is accused of brandishing a gun inside a berkeley bar last month while wearing a police style uniform. police say taylor works for a security company but they don't know if he's a licensed security guard. now to the peninsula. we're getting a first look at a personal trainer who's been arrested for three chargess

including lewd and teenager. in the south bay just about an hour ago. santa clara supervisors voted against an i.c.e. note policy. her accused killer is an undocumented immigrant who is wanted by i.c.e. nearly 100 people signed up to speak at today's meeting. most against cooperating with the agency. >> i urge you to not forget the human impact this has on the community and not just as a policy that you sign or not sign and just leave behind because it does affect us very much. >> supervisors say they don't feel it's necessary to let i.c.e. know when an undocumented immigrant is released from jail. it could lead to racial profiling and i.c.e. already has access to planned release dates as well as criminal histories.

meantime county supervisors voted late today to shutdown the city's juvenile hall. that's a move opposed by mayor london breed. >> reporter: well, that vote to shutdown juvey hall was almost unanimous. it was 10-1. and by the way it came down late this afternoon here at city hall at the supervisors meeting. a meeting that was disrupted several times by opponents of the bill. the disruption by reverend amos brown. speak truth, tell the truth he chanted directing his remarks towards supervisor shaman walton, the main sponsor of the bill. brown stopped interrupting the meeting after sheriff's deputies warned him he would be escorted out. the bill would end the jailing of most young offenders in the city sending them instead to

smaller community based facilities. walton who spent time as a youngster in jail says the bill would provide better programs for rehabilitation. >> mental health support, more education exposure and supports and job and life skill supports. >> reporter: she's a coauthor of the legislation. >> juvenile crime has plummeted while our spending has remained consistent or gone up. >> reporter: she quotes a san francisco chronicle investigation that showed last year it cost $266,000 to lock up a minor in juvenile hall. a figure that nearly doubled since 2011. this while the 150-bed facility normally houses fewer than 50 young offenders. reverend brown says the bill's author slighted the african-american community. >> the niinnis measure did not have the courtesy or respect to meet with the african-american community.

>> reporter: he opposes the bill as does mayor london breed. she argues the legislation provides no clear-cut alternatives after juvenile hall closes. >> it's why i focused on starting this blue ribbon panel to have a real honest conversation about the challenges we face. >> reporter: well, the mayor's blue ribbon commission will look at alternatives if juvey hall is shutdown, and that includes secure facilities for those who are a danger to themselves as well as to others. and by the way the vote today was the first reading, so supervisors will have to vote again before sending it to the mayor hope she won't veto it. >> we'll follow that closely, obviously. drivers on highway 101 in san jose found themselves stuck after several cars hit and killed a man on the road. investigators believe he jumped from an overcrossing. all southbound lanes were shutdown for three hours.

the chp are now alonging for the drivers involved saying they kept going after hitting the man. >> they could be charged as a hit-and-run as a potential possibility. there's no information ear indication from us at this point to assume that being struck by those vehicles is the incident that resulted in the fatal injuries. >> the chp says it is not sure if the drivers who kept going after the man was hit will be charged with hit-and-run. they just want to talk to them first. if you or someone you know is struggling with mental illness or thoughts of suicide we have resources for you. nbc 7 news.com/take action. the prosecution in the ghost ship trial could rest its case this week. it's been almost a month since prosecutors called their first witness. jurors are listened to 16 days of testimony from survivors of the deadly fire to experts on

the fire's cause. leslie brinkly has the wrap up. >> reporter: late today the da took the stand in the ghost ship trial showing rental contracts and text messages she downloaded from defendant max harris' cellphone to prove he claimed responsibility for hosting events at the warehouse. prosecutors also played recordings made by an atf criminal investigator days after the december 2016 fire in which max harris called himself creative director. i facilitate the division of space. he went onto claim there are fire extishuishers all over the place contradicting the testimony of other prosecution witnesses. >> it's one of the most intense moments of my life. >> reporter: who was in the ghost ship during the fire described his escape. he described the thick smoke and feeling like he wouldn't make it out alive as he

came down the stairs. tony sarah asked him to describe an encounter with a blonde woman he ran into on the stairs who was heading up and warning people of the smoke. the mother of chelsea faith dolan, one of the victims who died that night, said the blonde woman was her daughter and resented defense attorneys, implying her daughter caused people to not go down the stairs and escape. >> no one tried to go upstairs and warn those people except my daughter and now tony is trying to throw her under the bus. i am beside myself with fury for his slimy tactics. >> we're certainly not trying to throw anyone under the bus, and if someone says he saw someone coming up the stairs telling people not to go down because the smoke is too much, that's an important fact. >> my interest is less on the -- less on the blame and guilt of this case and more on the healing of the families. >> reporter: testimony continues tomorrow. the defense is supposed to start presenting their case on monday.

in oakland i'm leslie brinkly, abc 7 news. in the new haven unified school district school attendance is hoovering around 10% on this 11th day of the teachers strike. the big obstacle remaining with the district is its refusal to accept the pay increase proposed by a neutral fact finding rorlt. one teacher told us today because the strike has gone on this long some teachers are leaving for new opportunities. >> they're being offered really sweet deals to come to other school districts and we're going to be losing some of our best people if we don't get back in the classroom and end this. >> we here at abc 7 news have not been able to confirm that. the districtayis committed to participating in discussions as long as they remain productive and move the parties to a settlement. the top consultant on california's high-speed rail program has been suspended tonight after a state ethics investigation. this is the latest issue for

this project that has been plagued by problems. from our sister station in fresno has the latest on the story. >> reporter: the high-speed rail authority maintains it takes conflict of interest concerns very seriously. in a statement to action news spokesperson parker said we have directed them to temporarily suspend roy hill from the high-speed rail program until the determination is made by the fppc. the commission is looking into project consultitaant roy hill. hewas listed with a construction management company which builds transportation and commercial projects. >> he also was being paid over $100,000 a year. it might have been substantially more than that by wsp which is one of the prime contractors for high-speed rail. in all my years in public life i have never seen a conflict that is this blatant. >> reporter: assembly member

patterson pushed for the state probe. in 2017 roy hill signed a $50 million change order involving a company he invested in. documents show hill owned at least $100,000 worth of stock in jacobs engineering which patterson says provides services for a valley portion of the project. but the forms don't indicate when he bought or sold the stock or if ownership was the result of a company merger. >> there is no excuse for the high-speed rail authority nor mr. hill to suggest that he didn't know that there was a huge wind fall coming his way. >> reporter: in fresno, abc news. also happening tonight, a meeting in east palo alto to talk about a project that's an example of building a better bay area. abc 7 news is committed to looking for improvements to the big issues that affect our quality of life here.

happening tonight, after creating an up roar over a decision nod to fly the pride flag dublin's city council is expected to vote tonight on policy that would reverse that controversial decision. if it passes that rainbow flag would be raised. the mayor voted against flying the flag saying he wanted some sort of policy established. today in san jose there was a rally to kick off pride month. the goal is to celebrate pride while helping those who are affected by violence in the

and game three of the nba finals at 6:00 p.m. followed by after the game live from oracle arena. do you think that's going to be exciting? >> just a little bit. and it's going to be a little bit hot too tomorrow. >> man, it was steamy today. >> things not only heating up at oracle arena but here in the atmosphere as well. we have sunny skies across the bay area right now on a day that was really scorching inland. and even right now you can see the 24-hour temperature change indicates most bay area locations are about 10 degrees warmer right now than they were yesterday. 16 degrees warmer in fact in sonta rosa and most of the heat was concentrated in inland east bay where even now we have temperatures in the 90s. and about an hour ago all of those locations were in the mid to upper 90s. here a view from sutro tower where it was 65.

now we present you another list of temperature readings. 87 degrees in santa rosa, conquered, 94. 90 in livermore, and mt. tamara lovely looking view on the bay. and we'll feel more inland heat tomorrow. breezier and cooler on thursday, and temperatures will start rising again over the weekend. overnight look for mainly clear skies, perhaps a patch or two of low clouds near the coast. overnight lows mainly in the mid-50s. inland east bay lows will be in the low 60s, even milder. and tomorrow we have another hot day coming in our inland areas. 91 cloverdale. mid-90s fairfield, antioch. and mid-80s right around the shoreline. game time 6:00, yes, we know the game is played indoors but weather outdoors is important, too. if you're going to the game it'll be sunny and mild in the

late afternoon hours in oakland. and on we go to the cessions on thursday. a sharp cool down is coming our way on thursday along with a strong gusty wind. highs only to the upper 50s along the coast. mainly 60s along the shoreline and upper 70s to 80s inland on thursday. that's a significant drop in temperature from what we expect tomorrow. here's the accuweather seven day forecast. hot again inland tomorrow as i have pointed out. cooler and breezier on thursday, and friday not much change in the pattern those two days. and on saturday it starts warming up again. up to about 90 inland. 80 around the bay shoreline. even warmer sunday. mid-90s inland. check out monday. upper 90s, maybe approaching 100 in a couple of inland locations monday. upper 80s, 70en the coast or even higher. we've got some really summer like weather coming our way. >> head for the beach. >> stay hydrated.

the artist' works based on her memories of the protest is on display. but last week she nearly almost took it all down. >> a couple of days ago. >> reporter: she received an anonymous messag on a chinese social media site warning her about her exhibit. >> i get so scared. i just respond who you are and then everything disappeared. >> reporter: but she's not removed the exhibit. instead she's turning that fear into her message. >> the only thing i can do is to put my true feeling in my work. >> reporter: she was an art student during the june 4th massacre when chinese troops stormed the square in beijing and fired at the pro-democracy demonstrators. she had been in the square that day but was back at her dorm when theio started. >> i was so scared. >> reporter: and yet she was proud. it was her classmates who created the statue used in the protests now a symbol of

moves to marking the 75th anniversary of d-day. tomorrow the president will head topertsmith, ireland and on thursday to the beaches of normandy. he's working on a prototype he hopes to finish over the summer. abc 7 news reporter louis penya has the story. >> reporter: plastic pieces of forks, spoons and knives smashed into tiny little pieces. jessie is building eco bricks, and he hopes the white house notices. >> i thought about making eco benches. >> reporter: his bench idea was inspired by his environmental teacher at the high school. the new idea is to build a wall. that was one was inspired by president donald trump. >> we would cleanup all of the garbage in the united states, have all students stick it in a bottle and we can send these

"game of thrones" has created a husky boom at bay area animal shelters. with the show coming to an end so has the fondness to own a pet that resembles the dire wolf. many people bought husky puppies but the cuteness wore up and the reality set in. huskies are extremely active. they need lots of care as they get older. shelters say this is a good reminder. when you get a dog make sure the personality matches yours and your lifestyle. >> we do discourage people from getting an animal because of a look or perceived breed. it's very difficult to make that match just on a breed alone. >> it contra costa animal services says it has 11 huskies available for adoption right now.

good evening. kevin durant definitely will not be playing in game three of the nba finals. klay thompson wants to play. probably going to be a game time decision. strained his hamstring. if this was the regular season he would rest, no doubt about that. but we're in the middle of the finals. did pretty good today but officially listed as questionable. remember klei hurt his ankle badly. last year in the finals he still played through. >> last year i think i was in a much worse position than i am now, which is good. so that's a good sign. i mean injuries are never fun. it's the most unfortunate part of sports. but it tests your character, and, you know, playing through pain makes it all worth it in the end, especially this time of year. i don't think anyone's 100%
