coolest morning this week. we'll stay in the 50s to near 60 along the coast. near 70 without the strong, aggressive breezes we had yesterday. by 4:00, 74 to 77 and 69 to rapid changes escalation and heat coming this weekend. that's next. here is alexis. good morning, mike. i want to take you back to our biggest issue. we have issued a sig alert for this problem -- excuse me, not a sig alert yet. i'm going with a traffic alert because all lanes are blocked in castro valley at westbound 580 and castro valley. we have not gotten an update in about 15 minutes but we were told all lanes were temporarily blocked due to a five to six vehicle collision. it sounds like we have some serious injuries and emergency crews are at the scene. as far as we know, no one is getting by. we are down to about 15 miles an hour and even slower than that as you get closer to the scene. that is definitely our biggest issue. good news on the richmond/san rafael bridge looks like the road work wrapping up on either

side, eastbound and westbound. a little bit after backup in the san quentin area but looking great in richmond and the other backup on the other side should look great and thin out in a few minutes. i'm tracking developing news in the south bay where milpitas police are investigating a dui crash involving a 17-year-old driver. that investigation ongoing right now. this new video shows a scene on lacy drive near edsall. they say the teenager hit two parked cars before he crashed as well and the car he was in flipped over. neighbors say they heard a loud bang when it happened. the teenaged driver had two other teens in the car. two of them were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. police say a man was sitting in one of those parked vehicles that got hit. he was talking on the phone. he had minor injuries but was not hospitalized. >> jessica, thank you. they have had one day off and the warriors are gearing up for another game day hoping to

take game four of the finals. >> looking forward to seeing klay thompson on the court again, and they're getting excited for tonight. hi, good morning.live in we have a line of people. some people tell us they got here yesterday afternoon, but we also have four-legged friends who love the warriors. i want to introduce you to him pulling up in a maserati. nice. is he styling or what? he doesn't have to wait in line apparently. he will appear at halftime tonight, says his guardian, human guardian. but then look at the line of people. these people are all in line to get into the restaurant here in oakland where the espn show "first take" will be broadcast. and even though the warriors lost their last game, you can hear the enthusiasm out here. these fans are still feeling confident the warriors will win the championship, and they got here early to make sure they got a spot. so they'll get a spot in the audience for this show to

repair cracked beams inside of the center for nine months. and that has forced the closure of the building since september. workers have recently worked to get other parts of the building re ready for a reopening. the meeting starts at 12:30. the ghost ship trial resumes on monday. they will hear from a witness claiming a group of men set the deadly fire. defense attorneys believe what that woman says may clear derick almena and max harris for the deaths of 36 people in oakland. sharon evans wasn't inside when the fire broke out in 2016 but claims seeing men talking and laughing about the fire. investigators know where the fire started but have no idea how it began. cal fire determined it was a hammer that caused california's largest wildfire. the ranch fire broke out last july. investigators say it began when a rancher disturbed a yellow jacket's nest trying to plug a .

that action caused sparks to fly and ignited the fire. the ranch fire burned more than 400,000 acres in ge others were. the ranch fire destroyed 280 structures. in the east bay a weekend warm-up is forecast and with that comes increased fire danger. the fire department has extra staffing just in case. kate larsen has more on that. >> reporter: a fire in contra costa county tore through 20 acres of brush along highway 4 near willow pass road. >> because of these winds, the rate of spread is fairly rapid. it's a good indicator of what's yet to come. >> reporter: firefighters worked hard to contain the flames. this is one of several fires that burned in the bay area on thursday and one of many more to come as fire season begins. >> here in vallejo we're expecting hotter and drier weather. we have anticipated wind gusts which is all it takes to take a fire we could get out in a matter of a quarter acre and

drive it where it's multiple acres and begins to threaten structures. >> reporter: this weekend kevin brown says vallejo fire will have extra staffing and equipment for the first fire weather watch and possible red flag warning of the year. he says everyone should think about fire safety zones near their homes. >> a big fire is coming and they're unable to completely flee and escape, areas that cannot burn, concrete, riverbeds, rock quarries the best place to seek refuge. >> reporter: from green grass to dry fuel, photos of a hill behind fire station 27 one month apart in april and in may. two weeks later the grass which grew so tall from all of this year's rain is even more ready to burn. the fire weather watch starts at 11:00 p.m. friday and goes to sun dap at 1:00 p.m. but, of course, it's important that we're careful all year round. if you go to our website abc 7 news i posted a few ways you and your family can be fire safe. in vallejo, i'm kate larsen, abc 7 news.

hang out to mid to upper 70s. the east bay, the high clouds hang around through 11:00, also. you'll hang out around 70 this afternoon and our last stop san francisco where we'll jump out of the 50s by 10:00 and get some sunshine in here during the afternoon hours and top out in the mid to upper 60s. we'll take a look at the heat wave next. here is alexis with the commute. good morning, mike. take you back to the east bay where we have this problem involving a crash with five to six vehicles. a little bit of good news, westbound 580 at castro valley boulevard. they have opened up the three left lanes so we're down to the two right lanes blocked. they are saying that one of the vehicles did catch fire and we also had some injuries there, so they're waiting for tow trucks. at least we have traffic moving through the stretch once again. and checking out the backup, it's improved just a bit since i put my measuring tool on there. we're down to about 1 1/2, maybe even closer to one at this point. that is starting to thin out and recover. also have another spot in the east bay, westbound 80 before san pablo avenue. sounds like a two car crash

co-star, ladygaga new this morning, we have learned a man will appear in federal court today to answer char an attack on times square in new york city. prosecutors claim the unidentified man asked questions about buying hand grenades and talked about using them in times square. members of the joint terrorist task force including fbi agents and new york city police officers began tracking him. the u.s. attorney's office expects to provide some more information about the suspect later today. so far it's believed that he is not part of a larger terror plot. it's a case that we're watching closely, reggie. thank you. in today's "gma first look," investigators are releasing new details in the deaths of three americans at a resort in the dominican republic. >> he >> reporter: mystery in the tropics. preliminary autopsy results for those three american tourists are raising more questions than answers.

especially when the 80s hits sunday in san francisco. a look at what's going on. there are the high clouds from a weak cold front that's rolling through and it's going to keep us comfortable as we become sunny when it passes after the lunch hour. clear and cool tonight. maybe not quite as cold as this morning but it's still going to be in the low to mid-50s and then our hottest highs will be sunday and monday. let's take a look at today's temperatures. the micro climate, 73 in santa cruz, mid-70s to near 80 in the south bay. 78, a real dominant high temperature. 70 to 75, your spread on the peninsula. a sunny but breezy coast. 66 in downtown south san francisco. 77 in sausalito. gorgeous afternoon up in the north bay valley. 74 to about 78 degrees. really nice along the east bay shore, 72 in oakland to 76 in fremont for the warm spot. as you move inland one more day of not needing the air conditioner, 78 to 83 degrees.

if you're going to the game tonight, at 6:00 around 70 over at oracle. 64 degrees by 9:00. here we go. look at your temperatures, some 40s, lake port, clover dale, ukiah. except for half moon bay and antioch at 60 along with fairfield at 62. check out the temperatures. they just keep getting hotter even at the coast through monday. okay. checking out the commute this morning, back to castro valley where things continued to improve. we've got the three left lanes blocked as far as i know. not another update from chp but they're working on clearing a crash from the two right lanes at castro valley boulevard. five or six vehicles involved. they need three tow trucks it looks like so far. we did have one vehicle that caught fire. that is out. one person at least has some injuries there as well. that backup continues to improve so 18 miles an hour. we were just looking at that solid line of red a short time ago. that is starting to unwind. highway 4 to the maze still in

the green at 20 minutes. we do have a crash blocking one lane around san pablo avenue. westbound 80 across the bay bridge in the green at 11. southbound 101 san francisco to sfo, you're still looking good in the green at ten minutes. women played a critical role in local factories during world war ii. they were known, of course, as rosie the riveters, built ships in richmond and some still live in the bay area today. we met kay morrison who can still strike that signature rosie pose today. >> reporter: it's one moment kay morrison will never forget. >> i wanted a hug, and he gave me a kiss on the cheek and all of a sudden i just give him a kiss. >> reporter: sitting at her home in fairfield was another one. >> oh, my goodness, i was so happy i cried. >> reporter: kay, now 95 years old, watched on tv as fellow bay area rosie the riveters participated in the 75th anniversary of d-day commemorations in normandy.

>> i knew what a thrill it was for them to be there and it was more of a thrill for me to see them. >> reporter: kay had planned to be in normandy herself. she was part of the fund-raising efforts to get a group there. >> i wanted to go, but couldn't make it. >> reporter: kay was certainly with her friends in spirit. >> it's the greatest invasion in history. >> reporter: she was just 20 years old during world war ii working at the kaiser shipyard in richmond as a welder. that's me. i'm wearing my bandanna. >> reporter: kay said it's as important as ever to remember d-day. >> what a great sacrifice those men made. my message is to have peace in this world. while we're here and give it our best shot to whatever we do. >> reporter: she is, after all, a rosie.

afternoon. they had to suspe service through the transbay tube after a construction company hit a natural gas linek about an hour that gas leak and restore service. by then the damage was done and delays went into the evening hours. >> that was a real pain yesterday. thank you. developing news in san mateo where a police officer is accused of sexting a girl he thought was under age. >> it was actually a concerned citizen posing as that teenager. abc 7 news reporter kris reyes live at the san mateo county jail with the creigh action from police. kris? >> reporter: good morning, reggie and natasha. this will be disturbing news for anyone who came into contact or worked with police officer robert edward davies. he was taken to this jail, santa clara county, after he was arrested yesterday. police allege davies, who is 40 years old, tried to engage in sexual activity with someone he acknowledged to be 16 years old.

here's how the investigation unfolded on saturday, may 11th. silicon valley crimestoppers received a tip from a concerned citizen who posed as a 16-year-old girl on tinder and snapchat. police allege davies acknowledged her age and that they chatted about engaging in sexual activity. during the follow-up investigation detectives confirmed davies' identity and served search warrants on his electronic devices, mobile apps and his home in morgan hill where he was arrested and taken to the santa clara county jail. san mateo police issued this statement. this alleged conduct, if true, is in no way a reflection of all that we stand for as a department. san mateo police officers we have sworn an oath to serve and protect our communities. i can assure you that we remain steadfast to this commitment. he was arrested in morgan hill where he lives. he remains here held on $50,000. police are asking anyone with

statement saying, quote, i made a mistake and i'm truly sorry. i need to be better and look forward to making it right. i fully accept the punishment administered by the nba and the warriors. president trump remains in europe this morning focusing on the g-7 summit in france. but while dealing with foreign affairs the president has lashed out at one of his top critics back here at home. house speaker nancy pelosi. president trump reacted to comments pelosi apparently made to others, senior democrats, about impeaching the president. she made those comments earlier this week. and politico reports the san francisco congresswoman said she would like to see president trump in prison. the president fired back on fox news overnight. >> she's incapable. she's a nasty, vindictive, horrible person. >> this comes as u.s. and mexican negotiators plan to meet again today. president trump threatening to impose tariffs on mexican

imports if a deal isn't reached soon and the clock is really ticking. today the president could order those tariffs to start on monday. >> jessica, thank you. we have new details in the ongoing teachers strike in the east bay. a group of parents has launched a recall effort now against three new haven school board members. our media partner the east bay times reports the parents notified board members jeff wang, lance nishihira, as well as board president sharan kaur of their intent to recall them. the group says the lack of leadership by the school board members has prolonged this strike. it is now nearly three weeks old. the strike has gotten the attention of candidate bernie sanders. he tweeted out that teachers deserve pay and benefits that reflect the important work that they're doing. he expressed solidarity with the new haven teachers. a san francisco board of supervisors committee will consider banning the sale of ecigarettes in the city. the proposal was first made in march. in addition to the ban ecigarette companies would be prohibited from leasing city
