i wanted to be out there that night because that's what i do. i wanted to help my teammates on our quest for the three peat. it is the way things go in this game and i'm glad i gave it all i physically could. i'm proud my brothers got the w. it's going to be a journey but i'm built for this. i'm a hooper. i know my brothers can get this game six and i'll be cheering. there's been a lot of talk about who should we blame and who is responsible for this. the most notable thing is, i wanted to be out there because that's what i do. i wanted to help my teammates. nobody had a gun to his head. maybe did he feel some internal pressure because he wanted to play. but it wasn't like this decision was something that -- >> that somebody forced. >> they all want to get back out there. >> exactly. players want to plaflt i hope this puts the q rest. >> and really, it happens. >> abc7 news reporter

the other victims had fallen overboard while voting. the park rangers and life guards recovered a body at the north end of continue son beach. they stay person matches the description of a man reported missing last night. the person was last seen swimming about 60 yards offshore. crews searched the water last night but had to stop when it got dark. a scare for homeowners in pits burg. you can see that fire burned close to several homes in that area but crews were able to knock down the flames and thaftly no houses were damaged. it is not often we can report a best case scenario in fire season. the fire didn't spread thanks to a few things that went right. >> live in san jose with the details. >> good evening. we're in a neighborhood just

101 in napa. 97 in livermore. so once again, the inland east bay locations are still sizzling. not many triple digits. here's a look at the fog beginning to move out over the bay. we'll see the cooling trend continue with the seasonal temperature range in the next few days and arit and beautiful father's day weekend is coming our way. it is reaching locally across the bay. the overnight lows will be in the low 50s in the north bay valleys. still pretty mild overnight in the inland east bay where the lows are dropping to the upper 50s and low 60s. we'll see some mid to upper 50s along the bay shoreline and low 50s on the coast with breezy and foggy conditions. let's take a look at the 12-hour planner. we'll start the day with some bright skies. lots of morning fog will be lingering. we'll see fog lingering at the coastline for much of the day. bright skies, sunny skies for most locations away from the coast. and the temperatures will start to climb into the 70s.

the san francisco ride share based companies announced today that they are giving california drivers a guaranteed base wage and flexible benefits. here's the catch.

they will make that change if state lawmakers allow them to continue treating workers as independent contractors. the company are looking for a way to keep their economy model alive amidst scrutiny from lawmakers. >> the plan to charge tourists took us forward today. a state senate committee passed a bill that allows san francisco to implement a pilot program. transit officials are still working out the details including how much they would charge and how reservations would be made. maybe this driver should continue taking a ride share. it appears to show a driver fast asleep in his tesla model 3. that video was taken along the 405 and 5 interchange near los angeles. the person who shot the video said he called 911 when he saw the sleepy driver. kind of hard to see, to be honest. he said the driver appeared to be asleep on the 110 freeway exit. so far no comment from police.

abc news reporter wayne freedman was there. win or lose, tomorrow will be the last game at oracle tomorrow. relief from the heat? it is 10 to 20 degrees cooler in some parts of the bay area. san francisco district attorney george introduced a new program to have complicit bias in charging decisions. it is a computer program removes race from the evidence prosecutors use. vic lee is live at the hall of justice with the story. >> reporter: this is a ground breaking program first envisioned by george when he took office eight years ago. it has become a reality. a way to remove implicit bias from charging decisions. >> as human beings, every one of

us has implicit bias. because they're implicit, we don't necessarily recognize that we operate with those biases. >> bias that could influence a prosecutor's charging decision without their being aware of it. the kind of thing george wants to stop. to do that he enlisted the help of stanford university which used artificial tension technology to create a program on a web platform where algorithims redacted any reference to race and police reports seen by prosecutors. among the incidents remove -- >> there's suspects' names. victim names. there's locations. and there is a direct race token but also other things like brown hair and brown eyes. >> locations are removed because it could be a neighborhood occupied primarily by one racial or ethnic group. even the officer's name which may tell officers which police

station he works out of. another potentially revealing detail about the neighborhood. once the prosecutor makes a preliminary charging decision, based on other evidence in the case, a second review begins. >> we would do a secondary review that would have the entire history including perhaps videotape that will now provide information about a person's race. >> it is always then the prosecutor learns about the race of the suspect and victim. a final decision is then based on the totality of the evidence. and the totality of that evidence includes the unredacted police report as well as things like, body cam footage, security camera footage. evidence that would make him stick with the decision or change his mind. nbc abc7 news. >> when will this become
