the b.a.r.t.board approved a $2.4 billion budget and surprisingly, it will not include fare increases past next year. this comes as b.a.r.t. is getting complaints about fare evaders. >> reporter: b.a.r.t. calls these double barriers stacked gates. most passengers had no problem swiping their b.a.r.t. pass and getting through gates before they closed. but for this woman on her way to oakland children's hospital with her baby in a stroller --

today officials outlined a rough time line for restoring bus and commuter service which is still several more weeks down the road. >> early july, you will see the bus plaza on the street level with local service start. and then later in the summer, the bus deck which has direct access to the bay bridge. that will start in later summer. >> they say the temporary transbay terminal will continue operating during the transition for both muni and ac transit. they will use portions of it to reorient using the new transit center. changes could be coming to san francisco's water front. >> the board is asking for feed booking its waterfront program. it calls for restoring buildings and offering piers to private develope developers. they want to make it into a piazza that welcomes visitors. the kindness of an uber driver is being credited for

changing the life of an 89-year-old veteran in georgia. lauren took ronald dunger from the home from the hospital recently and found his home in serious disrepair when she walked him inside. she said the level have filth brought on by years of neglect took her breath away. she tried to clean it up but it was too much. she posted a plea on facebook. the response was overwhelming. an army of volunteers cleaning and tearing everything out of the house. >> i'm floored. i am blown away by the response that i got. the smell is almost gone. we have ripped up the carpets. all the trash is out. the furniture is out. >> isn't that the sweetest thing? in addition to the work, she also raised $3,000 for ronald who sayses mentally sharp but has no family and couldn't physically keep one all the work that had to be done. he said he's incredibly grateful to those who stepped in to help a perfect stranger. such a nice story. here.et.
