and we're looking a sfo, not too bad. low 70s by about 4:00. we'll see that low cloud and fog deck burn back early, stale gray at the coast, upper 50s there. we're looking at a bit of a warming trend for the upcoming workweek. chris. >> lis, thank you. breaking news, lanes of both directions in highway 101 in redwood city are closed after separate crashes. the first crash happened at 2:00 in the southbound lanes. chp said a wrong way driver died after hitting another vehicle. the other driver has major injuries. now, a second crash happened half hour later in the northbound lanes. at least three cars were involved, four people taken to the hospital. one has major injuries. it's unclear if the crashes are related. there is no estimated time for the lanes to reopen. time now 5:01. brazen and bold. that's how vacaville police are describing the crew that stole

$8,000 of merchandise from an outlet store in broad daylight. it happened one week at the at the tommy hilfiger store and they are asking for your help with the investigation. >> reporter: vacaville police want you to see the video to help the investigation and find the thieves. employees and customers are in shock as the first thief fills her bags with arms. you can see another walking by a arms overfleeing with clothes and then they casually walk out with the clothes. >> it's scary when they enter a store like that in the morning, sunday morning, and started loading up bags and bags of property that didn't belong to them. >> thieves were ready. they put a plastic bag on their license so they couldn't be identified and walked in with

man is being held in the contra costa county jail accused of threatening to commit a mass shooting at a jewish temple and kill police officers. police took 23-year-old ross farca into custody after receiving a tip about threats in an online chatroom. officers arrested him earlier this month but just revealed the threats. investigators say they found a semiautomatic rifle at farca's home. they also found camouflage clothing and nazi literature. two bay area men under arrest after a police chase resulted in a deadly crash. 22-year-old antonio gaso and another man booked on multiple charges including homicide and attempted homicide. they say they sped away when officers tried to pull them away yesterday morning. police say they fired shots at the officers pursuing them. the car jumped a curb near a

colleagues, do yourself a favor, don't stand in between a parent and a child who has health needs. >> the event was part of a health care weekend of action organized by democrats. time now is 5:08. developing news, hong kong residents have jammed the streets for the third time in one week. they are demanding a controversial extradition bill be withdrawn and for the city leader to step down. they say the bill would close a loop hill but groups say it would compromise hong kong's legal independence. a boy has died after being found unresponsive in a swimming pool in antioch. firefighters and paramedics tried to revive the 23-month-old when he was found friday night. they did detect a heart pete several minutes later but doctors later pronounced him dead at the hospital. antioch police believed the

tragedy was an accident and that no crime took place. officials have not released the child's name. in the north bay, more help is on the way for people impacted by the wildfires and this year's floods. the sonoma county board of supervisors is allocating $41 million for recovery efforts in the next fiscal year's budget. $3 million will go toward a community alert system. money will also be used to improve emergency dispatches in the county. also included in the budget, funding to reduce the risk of wildfires. firefighters and business owners are spending the weekend cleaning up this mess caused by a broken water main in sausalito. the water flooded at least 10 businesses yesterday. the trouble started when a 12" pipe broke. traffic had to be diverted around it. apple ceo speak at commencement, the ceremony starts at 9:30 at stanford stadium. cook says he looks forward to

long lines. some stores nationwide yesterday. the outage lasted about two hours. cashiers couldn't scan items or process transactions and self-checkouts were only working intermittently. the company temporarily closed some stores, including one in san francisco. at other stores, like one we went to in san jose, some shoppers just left and came back. >> mostly everybody in line, we stood around and waited and waited. i finally waited 30 minutes before i put my things away. a lot of people were still standing. some put their things away and just left. >> target apologized for the issue. they say the outage was not caused by data breach or security concern. communities across the bay area celebrated juneteenth this weekend to commemorate when many slaves in the u.s. learned they had been freed. abc news in san francisco for

not really a great marketing tool. >> tourism officials hope it will stick. >> what the city is, how inspiring it is, how you can be anything you want to be in san jose really speaks to the silicon valley vibe. >> and that song was produced in nashville. perhaps a young taylor swift in the making. all right. meteorologist lisa argen tracking the forecast now for us on this sunday morning. hi, lisa. >> hey, chris, good morning to you. we are starting out with low clouds and fog, a lot like yesterday with the mist and the drizzle. not just along the coast but around the bay and inland as well. but we're going to see an earlier burnoff. that bodes well if you want a little warmer. here is a look at the clouds. everybody in the 50s, 53 downtown, 56 in oakland, 59 mountain view, san jose with 55 in morgan hill and 54 half moon bay. certainly was cool at the coast. here is our exploratorium camera. numbers not going to change much

there. 52 santa rosa, 53 napa, low 50s n dels b w cloud field. deck. widespread clouds, mist and drizzle. radioing at slightly warmer temperatures inland. could see a few 80s today. then the real warming trend gets under way tomorrow and tuesday. in effect, even wednesday looking like numbers are going to stay up into the upper 80s and even 90 degrees. not a whole lot of fluctuation throughout the next couple of days. that was a quick preview of how the fog and low clouds move back into our inland valleys and peel back again through monday afternoon. we're looking at subtle variations day to day. in fact, the changes at the coast very minimal. as we get into monday, looking at upper 80s to lower 90s, you notice the oranges and reds here and yellows around the bay. so low 70s should be pleasant from oakland to hayward, 60s in

san francisco, but by tuesday very little ch maybe a degree or two cooler. into wednesday upper 80s to near 90s so certainly cool numbers at the coast. so in the south bay today average highs where they should be. san jose, santa clara 78, sunnyvale, peninsula upper 60s redwood city. a little cool for this time of year, 67 san mateo, 71 for you in menlo park. just 59 half moon bay. san francisco a cool day at 59. we'll get clearing, call it partly sunny. in the north bay, the warmer numbers well to the north, lake port and cloverdale, 80 calistoga, 70 in petaluma. slowly numbers coming up. near east bay still in the 60s for you. you're certainly going to see a cool day. not a lot of change, 68 in san leandro, 71 union city.

low 70s in fremont and getting into the 80s. that's a switch for concord. 72 if you're headed to the alameda county fair. a little bit warmer. looking at 80 in livermore and walnut creek. accuweather seven-day forecast for father's day. it is going to be a cool one. at our beaches upper 50s there, looking at 70 around the bay. mid-80s inland. as we go through the next several days, notice the bay and inland valleys will warm modestly mid to upper 70s around the bay. just about 90 degrees inland with minor fluctuations. morning fog, afternoon sup and partly sunny conditions at the coast. as summer arrives friday, temperatures looking pretty pleasant. if you're looking for a heat wave you're not going to find it in this look ahead. >> sorry for that. just ahead, now that he's retired from nba, dwyane wade is dedicating himself to his napa wine country. the pitch he made at one of the country's premier culinary events.

understand and dry grasses made for disastrous combination yesterday afternoon in one east bay neighborhood. in one neighborhood, the story from antioch. >> i heard firework go out. we were wondering what was that. >> first there were popping noise noises. then the sound of people shouting then a plume of black smoke. it prompted them to run into action. >> i was hearing screams of fire. we both ran down this way. >> i ran over to these houses over here and knocked on their windows and doors. i hopped in the fence, couldn't get in their backyard, grabbed their garden hose and put out the fences on fire. i put out the sprayed down bushes. >> contra costa confirmed

fireworks sparked the two-alarm blaze that started one fire and threatened six hours a witness said he saw a group of men at a community park setting off fireworks. then suddenly the dry field across the street erupted into flames. >> stupid in california to do that, forget about it in the summertime. shouldn't do that. >> this fire sefrves as a frightening example and how the careless use of fireworks could potentially lead to disaster. >> it only takes one bottle rocket, one firework. it only took one m80 or whatever it was to burn down fences. >> in antioch, abc 7 news. starting tomorrow, cal fire is suspending burn permits in six counties because of the fire higher danger. that includes sonoma, napa, lake and solano counties. residential outdoor burning of branches and leaves will be banned.

campfires will be loud in campgrounds and on private property. cal fires says the public can't let their guard down. this morning the highway patrol needs your help to catch a killer following a freeway shooting in solana county. abc news in vacaville with a man who died after a shooting on interstate 80. the pickup smashed into a poll on the orange exit on the freeway at 6:00 last night. he died at the scene. investigators say he suffered at least one gunshot wounwoun chp officers want to hear from anyone who might have seen the shooting. a crackdown on side shows. we've seen illegal car stunts in the last few weeks including this one in the middle of the afternoon. if caught drivers can be arrested and have vehicles towed. side shows can be extremely dangs reduce and spectaculars

can get hurt. in arizona, the first step in suing police over a confrontation that sparked outrage. witnesses recorded what happened when police responded ames outside of the store. he pushed him into the patrol car and kicked him. the second officer pointed a gun at ames car. that's when his pregnant wife and twa daughters stepped out. it started when one of the girls was accused of shoplifting a dahl from a dollar store. >> after today my daughters will never be the same or feel the same about the police department. >> i assure you this incident is not representative of the majority of phoenix police officers who serve this city. >> the ames family has filed a $10 million claim against phoenix police. the officers involved in the incident are now on desk duty as an investigation takes place. time now is 5:33. so many dead gray whales have washed up this year.

federal officials say they have run out of places to take the whales to decompose. this is one of several gray whales that washed up in the bay area this year. in washington tate 30 whales have been stranded along the coast this year. they are now asking coastal home owners there to volunteer their property to be used as disposal sites. decomposition can take several months. the battle over the future of burning man. organizers odm limiting attendance to 100,000 people. the bureau of land management is recommending keeping it at 80,000. burning man trying to get a rehewell -- renewal for renewalr they use 30,000 officers to control burning man. if it grows to 100,000, it would be required to use half of its officers. home insurance is supposed to cover you when something happens. a woman facing a huge flood

outrage after noticing someone appeared to record her and her daughter inside a changing room at lego land in southern california. the mom chased the man and alerted park officials about what happened inside a water park changing stall. she says that she saw a phone on the floor while she and her toddler daughter were changing. >> i don't know how long. it really makes me mad not knowing how long it's been there because my daughter was with me. i was changing her. she was naked. >> carlsbad police reviewed surveillance footage from the park and made an arrest. lego land says the staff acted promptly and park officials are assisting police with the investigation. a north carolina teenager is crediting a bible and an app with saving her life. 17-year-old macy smith was pinned underneath her car after it ran off the road and crashed. the only thing she could reach for was her bible.
