i want to take you b the trivalley. we have three vehicles involved here. one is blocking lane number 2, and so the other two vehicles made it off to the right shoulder. chp is on the way to the scene and have not arrived yet. better news for san jose. we had an overnight deadly shooting on the freeway, northbound 680 is back open at capital avenue but the investigation is on going, and that's where our reporter is live this morning with more information. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, alexis. police are in the early stages of the investigation, but i am joined by chp officer, ross lee. i understand you were on the scene when you got the call shortly after 10:00 last night, shots were fired on 680 and what can you tell us about when you got there?

>> the initial call we responded to was a shots fired call and the passerby stopped and saw the vehicle with an unresponsive driver. as we arrived on scene, we located the vehicle and verifie had injuries that appeared to be gunshot wounds. the fire department personnel and paramedics arrived on scene and tried to revive the victim and could not do so. we shut down 680 as we tried to establish and verify where the potential crime scene may have been and look for potential evidence. >> reporter: i understand the driver, we're thinking somewhere between late 20s, early 30s. we saw glass on the ground there on the highway, but any sort of indication pointing to where the shooting took place?
