app. it's 4:30. let's get over to meteorologist mike nicco with the weather. >> let's take a look at what's going on as far as our winds. you can see right there, a 40-mile-per-hour gust at fairfield. 22 at concord. 15 in oakland, 21 in san jose. the sea breeze has gained strength overnight and it's brought the clouds back. because the sea breeze is so much faster, it's going to mix out the clouds and bring in more sunshine today. it will be tempered by the breeze coming off that 50-degree water. so don't let that early sunshine fool you. 5 to 60 at 7:00. notice i put an asterisk next to 5:47. that's as early as our sunrise gets all through out the year. without day lie saving, it would be 4:47. comfy lunch, low to mid 70s along the coast. 50s and 60s at 7:00. this is the coolest day. i've got summer heat for the weekend coming up. here is alexis. >> good morning, mike.

looking at windy conditions. we have strong gusts this morning. only one high wind advisory for any of our area bridges. that's the benicia bridge. definitely want both hands on the wheel if you're crossing over in either direction. so far not looking like that's causing any major problem. westbound 580 dlub, in the yellow, 26 minutes. southbound 680 dublin to mission boulevard in the glean at 14. northbound 85, highway 101 to cupertino also in the green at 14 minutes. transit workers in the south bay could be walking off the job next week. >> the union for valley transit authority workers say an overwhelming majority of members voted to reject a labor contract overnight. the eta and amalgamated transit aency, the union is set more the reveal more about the vote and possible strike later this

castillo spoke with his family. >> reporter: san mateo county deputies returned to this rural stretch of skyline boulevard to search for additional evidence linked to the stabbing death of abdulmalek nasher. just before midnight those deputies found someone calling for help. they found 34-year-old john pekipaki. he did not survive. >> i'm missing him. he will be missed by us for the rest of our lives. i know he is in good hands. >> reporter: similar to monday night's victim, pekipaki's victim says he also received a work call. they say he was working for a towing company when a job came up tuesday evening. >> he got a call to go over to that area and pick up a vehicle. and when john drove over there on highway 35, that's when it happened. that's when they killed him. >> reporter: shortly after

deputies found pekipaki, they also spotted a man they believed was responsible for the stabbing. the sheriff says the 26-year-old was attempted to leave the area. >> a deputy fired at the ongoing vehicle which was driving toward the victim and both deputies. the speck was not hit by gunfire, but the vehicle went off the roadway into a ditch. >> investigators are still working to confirm whether the homicides are connected. we know pekipaki leaves behind an 11-year-old son and 1-year-old daughter. amanda del castillo, abc 7 news. in the east bay a defendant in the ghost ship fire finished his testimon. he said the exits to the ghost ship fire were clear on the night of the fire. he said he thought everyone was getting out of the building. harris became emotional when talking about his own escape and the eight friends he lost in the fire. 36 people died in the ghost ship fire in 2016. 4:35 now. the people ofl br wl ke stand af

minutes away from my accuweather forecast. >> the fire weather watch begins today at 1:00 in the central valley and goes through saturday at 11:00. it's going to be quite breezy the next couple nights. it will create -- just added lake county. looks like the national weather service in sacramento says lake county, you've got a high fire danger starting later today. we'll keep an eye on that. let's take a look and you can see. 66 in monterey with sunshine this afternoon. 62 in eureka with a ton of sunshine. more so in so call. 66 to 71 around los angeles. 85 in sacramento. the sea breeze making it all the way and into the mountains, 66 tomorrow, 71st and a sunny 77 in tahoe on sunday. the examiner reports public work staff will work around the clock to maintain the tile let at hyde street and golden gate

avenue. it will be open for 24 hours as part of a three-month pilot program. supervisor matt haney promised to extend the hours at all public toilets in the future. safety inspections being conducted by pg&e. the utility says the workers have uncovered about 1,100 high priority safety risks, most involving transmission lines and poles. pg&e says more than 97% have been corrected. in the bay area, pg&e says it discovered problems with the transmission line running through golden state national recreation area. it will also replace part of a transmission line in marin county. ftc reportedly investigating youtube for the handling of children's videos. "the washington post" says the government launched the investigation after complaints from consumer groups and privacy advocates. those groups claim youtube failed to protect kids who used the streaming video service and improperly collected data from them. the post says the investigation is prompting youtube to speed up

you can see it's evaporates a little faster than yesterday. watch what happens as a northerly wind kicks in during the afternoon hours and starts to clear the coast from north to south of that cloud cover. you may actually see the sunset along the coast today. how about that? let's take a look at our temperatures. mid to upper 70s in the south bay. 79 in san jose, los gatos along with morgan hill. 68 in santa cruz. san mateo at 74. low to mid 60s along the coast and then mid and upper 60s, 66 to 69 downtown, south san francisco. sausalito 68. mid 70s to near 80s through most of the north bay. a nice refreshing day along the east bay shore. it will be breezy from oakland northward. low to mid 70s here. as we move into the east bay valleys, upper 70s. highway 4 low to mid 80s.
