response network, a group that helps immigrants facings raids and enforcements. he says this is part of a trump administration campaign to frighten undocumented people. >> unfortunately, this is part of a policy by this administration to spread fear and terror among the immigrant community. >> reporter: the vice chairman of san francisco's republican party has a different view. >> this is something that's been brewing for a long time. and it just came to the time they said we've got to do something sometime and now is the time. >> i.c.e. says it plans to round up 2,000 undocumented immigrants who have received summons to answer charges of being in the country illegally but have ignored them. reports say san francisco is one of ten cities where i.c.e. agents will stage raids beginning sunday. on monday, president donald trump tweeted about plans to dee port 1 million immigrants just two days before he announced a 2020 re-election bid. in a written statement today, mayor london breed had this reaction to word of the raids.o

parked wherever pretty much over in alameda for a while moving around. >> reporter: how was ha? >> terrible. >> reporter: she's one of the first residents of the city of oakland's new safe rv parking lot on san leandro street unlike the hundreds of rvs parked on the side streets here, there are hookups for power, fresh water, bathrooms and security. >> we want to be both effective and compassionate. >> reporter: libby schaaf is well aware the growing number of rvs is a symptom of a larger problem. >> we don't find it acceptable for people to use our sidewalks as trash cans to put their raw human waste into our storm drain systems. that is not acceptable or sustainable. however, we cannot afford to just push their problem somewhere else. >> we know that when people live in a safe regulated environment with secure facilities and locking doors, they do better. >> reporter: but not everyone is on board.

stay for six months and then the ideas that these folks would transition to morer. the housing. in oakland, laura anthony, abc7 news. >> i see. thank you very much. governor newsom proposed a fund up to $21 billion to help utilities pay for future wildfire damage. this is following the bankruptcy filing of san francisco-based utility pg&e which anticipates $30 billion in liabilities from wildfires in 2017. and 2018 that have been blamed on its equipment. governor newsome proposed two models for this fund. one would place the are at $10.5 billion to be funded by extending a surcharge on electricity bills. the other would raise the value of 21 bibens-dirkx by including a multibillion dollar experience policy paid for by utilities. utilities would have to spend a combined $3 billion on wildfire safety measures to qualify for aid from this fund. the proposed fund would need to

be created by lawmakers in the state legislature. >> on peninsula, firefighters in menlo park are getting ready to inveil their newest station to the public. the project took years to complete. but many say it's worth the wait. abc7 news reporter chris nguyen takes us inside. >> outside fire station 6 in menlo park, neighbors can't wait for the grand opening this weekend. >> we've been watching as they leveled the ground. they built it from startup and we've been eagerly awaiting the finished product. >> reporter: from conception to completion, this $10.4 million project took 11 years to navigate due to recession and zoning issues. a facility that's well positioned for future growth. >> the congestion, density is going to equate to more call volume. so to match that, we have to have a facility big muff to support more units and more people. we've been able to do that here. >> reporter: but what makes the station even more special. >> these are a couple antique
