it's sunday, june 23rd. good morning and thank you very much for waking up with us. here's a look at the first weather forecast. here's lisa argen. >> chris, good morning to you. looking at the second week of the summer here and patchy low clouds and fog. mother nature allowing her air conditioner cool us off with visibility around a mile on the coastline. five miles up in the north bay. 60s in the east bay, 62 in concord, 66 in san francisco. another quick warmup today. numbers will be climbing into the 80s by noontime. inlands upper 70s around the

bay. coach comfortable in the upper 60s but heat returns inland. we will see a cooldown as we start the week. we begin with breaking news from san francisco's bay view district where the medical examiner has been called to a dead lhadley overnight crash. it happened between third street and paul avenue. a toyota sedan was t-boned by another vehicle at the intersection and pushed on to the metro track, blocking t-line trains like not. the others have frond-ept damage. we have a message to police asking for more details and will bring them as soon as wei hear back. president trump eliminated raids that would have started today up to 200 families facing deportation orders. the i.c.e. raid would have included 10 u.s. cities, including san francisco. here's the reaction to the change of plans.

>> yesterday followed the law but i think the way they're doing it is not the right way. and consequence will not be good. >> reporter: san francisco resident michael with wu seems the sentiment of most of san francisco regarding the san francisco deportation raids. >> the deportation raids are a group of very, very good law enforcement people. they came into our country illegally and we're taking them out legally. we're bringing them back to anywhere country. >> reporter: but dr. professor of mer fuss at hastings law said the mayor is being hypocritical. >> let's remember mayor libby shaft was excoriated for giving notice to people of impending i.c.e. raids a while back. >> reporter: dr. beshara thinks postponing the raids at the request of the democrats is an atext by the president to put

the onus on the democrats and to increase his bargaining power. >> you guys now work it out. if you don't,ly, if i have toe deport a bunch of people e. it's your designed, quote, to inflict as much fear and pain as possible. but in an interview with abc news, acting i.c.e. direct are mark morgan says, quote, this is not about fear. no one is instilling fear in anyone. this is about the rule of law and maintaining the integrity of the system. some political analysts suggest advance warning put the raids in jeopardy and i.c.e. officers at risk. republican ads say the only people vmted are court orders. >> the only people who are being targeted are those who received summons in order to report and ignored the summons.

the lost. >> it's very tragic. hits close to home. we're kind of a a a a community. i sky dived there before. i hope none of the victims on the airplane. >> reporter: one of the victims was a beloved instructor from hawaii larry master. they are posting heartfelt posts on facebook. and ntsb will be combing through to debris seeing if perhaps it was engine failure or the plane was overweight. a devastating story on the south bay. a 3-year-old boy has died after being hit by a truck in a parking lot in san jose. it happened between south 24th street and east santa clara street. the mother was walking nigh nearby business when the boy jumped out of the car and into the pack of an oncoming pickup truck. the child was taken to the hospital where he later died. the child is cooperating with police. this is san jose's 23rd deadly

crash this year. a vigil will be held for sacramento police officer tara o'sullivan with her funeral set in rose violate. she was shot and killed responding to a domestic violence call last wednesday. police released video of officers, guns drawn, knocking on the we must warn you, this is inconvenience and some might find it disturbing. [ gunfire ] you can hear that gunfire as officers retreat. three also released photos of the weapons they say were found inside the home. sacramento's police chief calls the shooting an yam boosh. the shooting suspect, adele ramos, is being held without bail and scheduled to be in court today. 5:07 is our time. in san francisco a woman died during what police may have been a case of domestic violence. abc news was on aprilton avenue

in balboa tarrous yesterday. officers found a man with blood on his hands and detained him. they also discovered a woman who is dead. police went to the home after being asked to check on the people there. >> someone came in to one of the police stations and was concerned about a domestic violence incident. after doing a preliminary investigation, they got to the side and found the two people here. >> police also surrounded another home a few miles away in knowy valley but they have not revealed how that home is connected to the woman's death. also in san francisco more than 1,000 people have applied to be part of the team of the warriors' new home. abc7 was inside the park 55 hotel where the chase center held a job fair yesterday. job seekers applied for a variety of positions. >> i wanted to challenge my spfl so i decided to work for box offices, also for things food and beverages.

reprieve in the north bay. elsewhere, east bay valley will be hot again, especially livermore, mid-90s. beautiful look with clear conditions, 56 san francisco, 68 oakland. mountain view 62, it will be warm around the bay again. if you like it warm, today is your day. distinct cooling tremendous getting under way for the first part of the work week. 54 half moon bay. can you see the flag blowing from our roof camera, where numbers are in the low 50s. it is 57 in napa, 51 petaluma with low 60s in concord. widespread temperatures once again and as we look at the 24-hour trend, we are 3 from 70 degrees warmer than yesterday. that's why we still have some of the 70s in our east bay valley so retaining just a little bit of warmth from yesterday. you can see some of the patchy clouds here in the north bay, the gold anticipate gate bridge, partly cloudy skies, the mix of clouds and sun at the coast.

but sunny and hot again inland temperatures in the upper 60s, so comfortable shoreline and looking at the big-time cooling tomorrow taking us through the middle of the week and the end of the week a slight bump up in temperatures. here's a look at the fog later on today, it pulls back from the coast. but as it pushes in again tomorrow, just a little further for monday and this will be the source of our cooling, that stronger onshore flow and that sea breeze. you can see the gray sky here in santa cruz. look gt at sunshine later on with numbers in the 70s. 71 there, mid-60s half moon bay, 56 bodega bay looks like a nice afternoon, with plenty of sunshine, near 70. look at the trend and spread from near 60s to the mid-90s inland. 90 for santa rosa, 84 in

still out of the 90s for most of you from concord to livermore and down another five degrees around the bay. by tuesday we're in the mid-80s inland, 60s at the coast. more low clouds and fog. look at the numbers wednesday. upper 70s inland with 60s around the coast. accuweather seven-day forecast. another hot one inland with temperatures very much typical of a summertime pattern. heat eases for everyone tomorrow and looking at temperatures coming way down through wednesday and thursday. and then it's the end of the week where we will see numbers coming back up towards normal. we are looking at another warm day inland, but the sea breeze will certainly help you out. especially in the north bay. a few degrees cooler there but not so much on the east bay valleys.

here on abc7. time it 5:33. a funeral for malia davis was held in houston, texas this weekend. she's the 4-year-old girl who disappeared and was later found dead. our sister station abc 13 got ahold of this program to honor the little girl, designed in bold, bright colors. it mimics her favorite show and toy my little pony. photos of a very happy maleah lined the pages. her favorite little pony rainbow dash was theatered on her themed casket. >> the pictures that they sent to us of her, we actually put her on rainbow dash where she was actually riding rainbow dash. >> teddy bears and expectd at yesterday's service are being given to the houston fire department to be donated. her mother's now ex-fiancee is being charged with tampering with a corpse in connection to

maleah's disappearance. another southern california family thought they had a perfect tiny home to be on a tv show about it. now discovering the home they thought belonged to him did not and the tiny home has now disappeared. reporter latisha juarez with our sister station in los angeles explains. >> i still welcome you officially to tiny home! >> reporter: a small dream that turned into a big nightmare for rebecca and ben richards. >> they put their big fancy tv show and everybody's watching it and they're benefiting from us being on the show and now we're out of pocket all of our money and we don't have our tiny house. >> reporter: it all started when the couple decided to move their young family from sierra midre to nashville, tennessee, to follow ben's music career. they wanted a home they could afford and found builder mike bedsle who sold him an idea based on a tv show based on the

tiny home trend. one advantage doing that, the trailer on which their home would be fit would be paid for by the tv show. however, there was a catch -- >> had to build a set that we were not able to accept the trailer from the tv show, we had to go with his supplier. >> reporter: receipts and emails show the richards paid a total $11,500 for the trailer. >> our expectation is he was registering the title in our nation as requested, the documentation to raise the title. >> reporter: asp episode went into production, they were still trying to secure francing, which almost put the brakes on going forward. >> he said as long as we pay in full he would guarantee the show and home completed. >> reporter: after the film finished and wrapped, he said the home needed major fixes. so it went back to the work shop and with nowhere else to live, the family moved into it. that's when they asked bedsel

for a final quote but for some reason, he wouldn't do it. mike, you need to answer our questions. the richards say they confronted him after they learned he was being evented from the property. you're being evicted from the party for being five months late on your payment, and so this house needs to be moved from the property. what are we supposed to do with everything in the house? >> reporter: eyewitness news contacted the property owner confirming that bedsel was evicted and still owes them $30,000. after the confrontation, they learned the home they thought was theirs turned out did not belong to them. >> we spoke to the lawyer who said if you move the tiny house, we'll have you arrested for stealing. i said what are you talking about? he said you don't own the title to the house. >> reporter: richard said bedsel put the trailer in his name shortly after they took it from

an eegs cleanup team launched a giant barrier for the second time to remove some of the great pacific garbage patch. the project shared video of the giant boom when it left san francisco bay last year. crews just spent four months repairing the 2,000-foot-long boom. it broke part because of constant waves and winds.
