the same thing at 4:00 with high clouds and sunshine. not as hot as yesterday. >> we're checking out the roads here. have not had any major issues so far. we're looking live at the bay bridge commute into san francisco. so we're looking good on the san francisco side. we're looking good on the east bay side as well. we did have a disabled vehicle blocking one lane at the toll plaza. so far no metering lights. taking you to the peninsula, southbound 101 around 4th avenue, supposedly just the on-ramp is closed until 6:00. the mainline is heavy as well. caltrans is on the scene. a lot of people could be slowing down due to those flashing lights. we are tracking this breaking news in the south bay. we learned in the last 30 minutes that a long overnight standoff is over butfive people suspect are dead. >> police are investigating at a home in san jose. this is at

abc 7 news reporter jobina fortson is there live. >> reporter: i'm confirming with police they are investigating this as a quadruple murder-suicide. i want you to take a peek behind me now. you can see only testify police vehicles blocking the roadway there. they have a rather large perimeter set up now. i'm told two people died inside the house, two others died at the hospital. the shooting suspect also died here at the scene, making a total of five people. now, officers tell me at this point the focus is now shifted to the investigation as well as getting evacuees fed right now. there are several people out of their homes at this time, about eight to ten people i'm told are staying at a community center nearby. there are several others that are with family or family friends at this moment. officers were called around 8:40 last night to a house in the 500 block of habbitts court. police are

information on the motive at this point. they don't know the relationship between the individuals that were inside the house. they say they got several calls of shots fired last night, not only on habbitts court but nearby streets as well. we're told several people ran outside the home once the shots began going off. they don't have the motive or identification on the individuals involved in this. they're telling me at this point they're hoping to get the evacuees that were taken from their homes back inside somewhere around 8:00 or 9:00 this morning, but at this point it's still a really active and fluid situation. there are several officers here on the scene, but they're working to get us a little closer up to the home involved in this incident so we can get a better look at the tragedy that happened. live in san jose this morning, jobina fortson, abc 7 news. meanwhile, happening today the man accused of killing a

sacramento police officer is expected in court today. adele sam bran know ramos faces murder and attempted murder charges for a shootout with police. officers were responding to a domestic violence call at a home in sacramento. they say ramos fired more than a dozen shots. he shot and killed rookie police officer tara o'sullivan. her memorial service is set for thursday. the bay area native was honored last night at a vigil at sacramento state university where she started police training. abc 7 news reporter kate larsen has the story. >> reporter: hand in hand, female officers from sacramento and beyond quietly processed to a vigil for officer tara o'sullivan. the 26-year-old was shot and killed on duty last week. body camera footage from her training officer shows what the sacramento police department is calling an ambush on officer o'sullivan and others on scene who were trying to help a woman

blocked off. it's going to be a while before this gets open. several people evacuated from their homesment about eight to ten of them staying at a nearby community center. officers are working on getting them fed right now because they haven't been inside their home since about 8:40 last night which is when police got the call about shots fired in the 500 block of habbitts court. san jose police say when officers got there, two adults exited the house, each suffering from gunshot wounds. they were both rushed to nearby hospitals. there were multiple flash bangs before the standoff ended earlier this morning. police found the other three bodies inside the home, that included two victims and the shooting suspect. at this point police do not have a motive, but there were other people inside the home when those shots began to ring out. they're interviewing them right at this moment. for now, live in san jose, jobina fortson, abc 7 news. >> what a terrible morning in that neighborhood. jobina fortson, thank you. developing news in fremont

where an evacuation is over for homes near a grass fire. >> this one started late last night in the niles district. abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield joining us from fremont this morning. >> reporter: good morning. we're on blazedale way at the base of the hill that was on fire last night. one man here who are lives here tells us they have always worried about this hill. here is video taken from a car passing by. this is posted on twitter. you can see how big it was, what a scary sight this was last night. this started around 10:00 on a steep grassy hill. this was about two blocks from mission boulevard near nichols avenue. police did evacuate some homes in the area as the fire moved in their direction. one man told us this hill has always made them nervous. >> we've been here about six years and my wife has always worried about the hill out here being dry.

i know many years back it did catch on fire. we've always worried about it. >> reporter: he took these pictures of the fire last night. you can see it lit up the night here in this neighborhood. it burned about 15 acres. residents say the response was huge, and emergency crews had it out pretty quickly. they got it knocked out by about 1:00 this morning. no one was hurt, no buildings were damaged. it was quite a wake-up call for this area. no cause of the fire has been given. live in fremont, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. on the peninsula, the man accused of stabbing and killing two people is due to make his first court appearance today. police arrested malik dosouqi on tuesday. both victims were found off skyline boulevard. investigators say dosouqi drove at deputies as they investigated the second stabbing.
