really mean it when you said yesterday, don't meddle in our elections, mr. president, and then you guys both started laughing. >> you'll have to look at the words. i did say it. >> a 13 year old girl nearly drowned during a swim meet in the south bay. abc 7 news was at burgess pool where the child was not beathing and had no pulse following a race yesterday. the menlo park fire protection district says witnesses performed cpr and paramedics used a defibrillator on the child. she was rushed to a center. she had just finished a race when she seemed to collapse and sink to the bottom of a pool. an inferno destroyed a complex in santa clara. this morning, firefighters were still dowsing water. fire investigators were on the scene trying to figure out what touched off yesterday's massive fire. one person was hurt. a construction worker described to abc 7 news how he rescued a

co-worker on the second floor. >> and as soon as i seen him, i told him we got to get out of here. and i looked on the top floor, and i seen the whole fourth floor in flames. >> investigators detained a person of interest yesterday afternoon, but that person was released. the four-storey condo complex with 58 units was supposed to be completed later this year. in the east bay, two off-duty police officers in castro valley helped evacuate a home next to a burning garage. a retired fire department captain also helped before fire crews got there. one of the off-duty officers had to break a window to wake up the people inside. a dog hiding under a bed was also rescued. the red cross is helping a total of five people find a new place to stay. thankfully no one was hurt. a child has died after visiting the san diego county fair. >> three other children who went got sick. coming up, the common link in

s >> we're taking precautions. we're shutting down contact with the petting zoo and following directives of the county health department. >> the children visited between the 9th and 15th. the fbi is getting involved after a strange theft from the watsonville airport. someone stole a single-engine cessna parked at the airport wednesday night. it was reported missing by its owner the next day. the co-owner of the airport restaurant said the thief knew what he or she was doing. >> pulling in a flatbed and thinking about lifting a plane out is inconceivable. it had to have been someone that had some prior knowledge, maybe? >> yeah, definitely sounds planned. the stolen plane is registered to a corporation out of skruant cruz. burning man and a cultural

a rescue group is helping turtles recover using old bras. that's what i said. they help put animals on the d mend literally. many have been run over by cars, lawnmowers and boats. they use tape to piece together broken shells and use eye closures that are found on bras to wire the shell the back together. >> it's these little ingenious things people have created in
