kevin durant is done with the doves. he is leaving to sign with the brooklyn nets. he made the announcement on instagram and he is leaving $57 million on the table by not resigning with the warriors. he won two nba finals mvps in three seasons with golden state. the free agent will not become official until after they are signed on july 6th. fans were virtually unanimous. they are heartbroken. >> all of us fans are excited about it. he put his heart into the bay and the team and it's sad to see him go. you have to live by the opportunities and that's what he's doing. >> we are big fans and we think he should stay on the warriors. it's kind of a betrayal. >> i love kd. i'm heartbroken right now. >> in losing,id gain another all-star guard

it has been a busy weekend in san francisco with three days of pride celebrations that wrapped up tonight from the trans march on friday to saturday's dike march to the pride parade and everything in between, it has been a weekend to celebrate the lgbtq and itself history. the second seemed to be a peaceful and fun all the way to the close. live in the castro neighborhood of san francisco with more. >> reporter: the official pride effects are over, but the castro is still pretty lively and will probably stay busy as long as the bars aopen. there is a lot of awareness around how far this community has come. ♪ this singer closed out the sf pride party at civic center to

cheering fans. there were hundreds of thousands out to celebrate. >> i see more love and more understanding people, especially me now that i have a daughter who told me she is bisexual. i'm out here supporting everybody. love is love. >> two full days of activities at the civic center packed with people in a variety of outfits and united by a common cause. >> seeing everybody smile and be happy and celebrate life and pride and equal rights. >> helena and her friend came from brazil. they are going home with a better sense of how far cloel lgbtq groups fought for the right to exist and build the community. >> in brazil we have a lot of good things about lgbtq people, but you struggle a lot as you do in the u.s.

it's important to realize that we are not alone. we can build things together. >> this is the 50th anniversary of the stonewall uprising in new york city which many consider to be the start of the modern lgbtq movement in the u.s. that was on the minds of many as they celebrated this weekend's pride events. >> i'm a different generation of course, but i would not have what i have now, friends and everything here would not be because of it. if that wouldn't have happened, i don't know if this would have been what it is now. >> reporter: the theme for this year's pride parade was generations of resistance in honor of the 50th anniversary. i spoke to sfpd and they except for the two arrests, it has been a relatively peaceful pride weekend. abc 7 news. >> we are learning new information about that pride parade protest. two people were arrested for

resisting arrest and interfering with the parade route. can face charges on battery of a police officer. cornell bernard was at the parade and has more on the protest. >> the pride parade started down market street at 10:00 everybody. >> everybody loves everybody. it doesn't matter who you are. >> it came to a screeching halt. this group of protesters got on to the parade route and sat down and refused to leave. their arms linked tg with rainbow tubes. they were protesting police involvement. c not okay. that's the spirit of what pride should be. >> they show police officers taking a protester into custody. water bottles were thrown at them, but protesters said officers were overly aggressive.

bernard, abc 7 news. >> we were honored to be part of the pride parade. several employees march and danced in the streets. they made up the contingent from the parent company, disney. with a big party comes a big clean up. the public works department tweeted photos hard at work making market street ready for cars and pedestrians again. the pride parade is the biggest cleaning operation of the year and workers have been on the frontline since about 4:30, getting the parade route ready and they'll stay overnight cleaning that spot when the festival booths were broken down. as the bay area celebrates lgbtq pride, we have been digging through arkifs, we found stories that show gay life here 43 years ago. we are supreming a special, look back, san francisco bay gays on platforms including amazon fire.

new details on a deadly overnight crash that killed two people in orinda. te highway patrol said a sat earn suv was driving the wrong way on westbound 24 near wilder road. it slammed head on into a toyota with five people inside. all in their 20s. both the driver and passenger in the sat earn were kill and all five in the toit around taken to the hospital with critical injuries. officers gave an update this afternoon. >> we have suspicion and belief there was alcohol impairment with the saturn driver. he's diseased now and that will come back with an autopsy. >> the crash closed down lanes of westbound 24 for nearly three hours. a man from the north bay is missing in the grand canyon. 66-year-old peter schwab lives in healdsburg. the national park worker said he

camera looking back at coit tower. we have mild to warm weather for the next few days. bright and beautiful for the fourth of july which is thursday of this week. it will be warming up a bit more when the weekend arrives. highs inland in the low to mid 90s. this will be the pattern and fog near the coast. maybe into a couple of inland communities. they will be reduced visibility in spots, but not widespread. this will burn back quickly by midday and mainly sunny just about everywhere. een parts of the coastline and later, we will see the fog going away and giving sunny skies across the bay area by early evening. on we go to overnight conditions with the fog pressing forward. lows in the low to mid 50s and cooler in north bay valley locations. santa rosa with a lowdown to about 49. tomorrow in the south bay, sunny

kevin durant took a page out of the lebron james playbook to reveal his free agent decision and then came the news dove nation was fearing. durant is leaving golden state and signing with the brooklyn nets. he made the announcement on instagram this afternoon. this was the move to start the free agency. reports say he will take less than the $164 million to make

room for jordan. also signing with the nets and taking less. durant could have made $57 million more by resigning with the warriors and led them to two nba titles and won in three seasons with golden state. he will likely miss all of next season. the warriors making their own move on day one. multiple reports say they have agreed to a sign and trade deal with the brooklyn nets for all-star d' angelo russell. it's a max deal and the same position as steph curry, but the players can play any position really. they averaged 21 points and seven assists for the nets. as expected, klay thompson will resign with golden state. it's a five-year $190 million deal.

another homeless couple, they are at the center of the homeless crisis. a symbol that something must be done. insight into the huge disparity between the nations haves and have nots. the city by the bay is the wealthiest in the nation, more billionaires per capita than any city in the country. the homeless population at about 8,000 living on the street and in their cars. >> you have people able to purchase multimillion-dollar homes and cash and people who don't have enough money to eat. >> taylor writes about the homeless with the chronicle. he met greg and marie and learned that neither fit a . her isy ill or drug addict destefei bnd and ma walking difficult.
