urg, florida, crashed into a hangar shortly after takeoff. >> attention all aircraft on the tower. everybody, just stand by. we had an accident on the field. so expect not to go out anytime soon. >> reporter: witnesses at the airport in addison say the plane veered to the left before rolling over. its left wing smashing into the building sending thick black smoke billowing from the crash site. >> it was really thick like you could tell there was some burning chemicals or, you know, gas or oil. it definitely looked black enough for it to be serious. >> reporter: the eight passengers and two crew members on board were killed. >> we don't know a lot about the people on board at this point. >> reporter: no one on the ground was hurt. investigators say the hangar was empty at the time of the crash. the ntsb and faa are now working to determine the cause of that crash. overnight investigators said they were still trying to determine the plane's tail number. >> the aircraft apparently changed hands here recently.

so it's not clear to us at this time what the proper tail number is. >> reporter: the ntsb says it will be looking into the pilot's background and says videos of the crash will be a big part of their investigation. >> we are aware of three different videos and we're in the process as we speak of having our specialists review that footage. >> the ntsb says the plane was previously owned by a private charter company in chicago but it's now working to track down the current owner. we're following breaking news from afghanistan this morning. a car bombing near the u.s. embassy in kabul. at least 50 people have been injured. the explosion reported outside afghanistan's defense ministry then militants started started firing into a crowded market. there was no immediate claim of responsibility. the attack comes as the u.s. and the taliban continue to hold peace talks. president trump is back from his historic visit with kim jong-un where he became the first sitting american president to set foot in north korea. the president shook hands with kim meeting for nearly an hour

and he raised the possibility of kim visiting the white house. but the question now is what's next? abc's andrea fujii is here with the latest. good morning, andrea. >> reporter: good morning, kenneth. the two leaders spent an hour behind closed doors as president trump tries to restart nuclear talks with north korea. president trump back in washington tweeting this video of his meeting with north korea's leader kim jong-un. history made as he became the first sitting u.s. president to step into the country. >> my friend. >> reporter: president trump made the surprise visit to the demilitarized zone following the g20 summit where he met with russian president vladimir putin and chinese president xi jinping. speaking with fox news' tucker carlson, the president seemed optimistic that the u.s. and china are closer to a trade deal. >> we had a very good meeting. he wants to make a deal. i want to make a very deal. very big deal, i guess the biggest trade you'd say. we got along well.

we understand each other. >> reporter: but it was president trump's meeting with kim jong-un that's received the most media attention which at times became chaotic as the two men walked back into the south korea side of the border. >> come on. >> come on. >> reporter: in a rare move the reclusive north korean leader spoke directly to american reporters. [ speaking a foreign language ] >> translator: i believe just looking at this section, this is an expression of his willingness to eliminate all the unfortunate tests and open a new future. >> reporter: the last round of nuclear talks with north korea failed but now its state media is hailing this meeting as successful. despite all the symbolism with this meeting there is still no concrete progress for north korea to give up its nuclear weapons but president trump says they will resume talks to try to get to a nuclear deal. kenneth. >> andrea making her "america this morning" debut on the president's h oversea escalating in hong kong

as the city marks its anniversary of its handover to china in 1997. you can see the demonstrators there trying to break into hong kong's legislature. they're angry over the government's attempts to change extradition laws that would allow suspects to be sent to china for trial. you can see video where some of those demonstrators were trying to push a cart through a window, through the building's large windows right there. you see those attempts earlier today. a large demonstration against the extra decision plan is scheduled later today. we've seen lots of protests there in recent weeks. back here, a convicted murderer in texas is the subject of an urgent manhunt. 25-year-old rene carrillo was convicted last thursday of killing a man outside a dallas strip club but he was free on bond during his trial and prosecutors say carrillo cut off his ankle monitor to plea before being convicted. >> anybody that is associated with him, we're going to be contacting them and hopefully

they can talk him into coming back for what he was sentenced with. if he doesn't come back we will still be looking for film. >> carrillo sentenced to 99 years in prison now facing additional charges for dumping bail. a dock collapse brought a birthday surprise to a surprise ending. 40 guests were standing on a dock. 20 of them fell into the creek below. three people were hurt. they're expected to be okay. the other guests are still trying to process what happened. at first it was just a moment of shock like is this really happening right now? i had my arm around my girlfriend's shoulder, and like i said, the next thing we hear is a giant crack and the dock collapsed under the weight of all of us. >> people in a passing boat helped pull some of the people out of the water. in colorado at least eight hikers injured by a lightning strike in douglas county. one is in critical condition from hypothermia. the strike hit a rock wall near the hikers knocking some of them

to the ground. this holiday week will be a scorcher for millions. by wednesday temperatures in parts of the south could feel like 105 degrees. let's take a closer look now at your weather. severe storms swept over parts of long island, new york, sunday. heavy rain and gusty winds downed trees and power lines. you can see the scene there. but it was nothing like this scene in western mexico. look at this. a massive hailstorm buried some areas in ice pellets that were six feet deep. hundreds of homes were damaged and dozens of cars were swept away by ice. looking at today's temperatures, 76, boston, upper 80s to low 90s from kansas to illinois. 110 in phoenix. coming up, on a man on a motorcycle chased by a tiger. >> wow. also, ahead, the dramatic video as a sheriff's deputy is dragged down the highway by a

a terrifying moment in southern india. two men on a motorcycle chased by this tiger. it followed for a few seconds before there running back into the forest. my goodness, the chase happened at a wildlife park. reports say the men were forest officials checking on a tiger sighting and they sure got one. >> motorcycle, don't fail me now. in japan commercial whaling resumed after more than 30 years. the government says only 227 whales will be allowed to be caught through the end of the year. opponents of whale hunting say it's an obsolete industry. some dramatic video from florida where a sheriff's deputy was dragged by an suv after a

routine traffic stop. deputy aaron blaze pulled over a driver for tinted windows but police say the man drove off after the deputy said he smelled marijuana. he was dragged more than 100 feet before shooting the suspect in the leg and falling into the median. >> i'll tell you right now, stop, stop, stop. put it in park. put your hands up. >> this is a bad dude who almost killed one of our deputy sheriffs on the side of the road. >> the suspect was caught after an eight-hour manhunt and now faces an attempted murder charge. the deputy was treated and released from the hospital. get ready for more traffic this july 4th. aaa is predicting a 4% increase. that is compared to last year. the worst traffic will be in new york, boston, houston and seattle. as for travel times they're expected to be three times worse than average. experts recommend you avoid driving wednesday afternoon and

the difference in road height was within acceptable levels. that couple is okay. now to the 2-year-old boy who died after being exposed to e. coli at a county fair. >> his family calls him a little angel. he was one of four visitors who contracted the bacteria. the source of the e. coli is under investigation but all the children had contact with the animals. this morning, an urgent investigation into a county fair after an e. coli outbreak killed a young boy. 2-year-old jedidiah king cabezuela visited the san diego fairgrounds june 15th. four days later he has stomach problems then doctors say a rare complication from the infection killed him less than a week later. >> he was bundled up in a little ball. can't even move. he was hurting so much he almost couldn't cry. >> reporter: fair officials closed all animal exhibits saturday as aprauon. this morning, they're searching for the source of the

e. coli and say it likely came from the petting zoo, the livestock exhibits or the pony rides. >> our hearts and our prayers and thoughts go out to the family and while we emphasize safety at the fair, we will continue to do so. >> reporter: jedediah's family says he washed his hands after interacting with them. three others were sickened by the bacteria. at least two of the other children did not wash his or her hands after being around animals. >> washing hands is very important. when you're touching animals and livestock, wash your hands a good 20 seconds. >> reporter: jedi, as he's being remembered, was a happy boy ow, little . n
