welcome back. well, take a look. this giant hammer is back but not the original one. this is a new statute being unveiled in sonoma county today nine months after the original one was stolen. it is named "the hammer," it vanished in october. they have no idea who took it. an artist refashioned the metal hammer after the top was found. they will be celebrating it in the plaza. people got an early fireworks show in this plaza this morning. it was not supposed to happen this way. look at this entire storage of fireworks going up in anadpect .

here's alexis with the commute. >> not much of a commute today. very rarely do we get through the morning commute without metering lights. sometimes on holidays like today we get lucky and get that extremely light volumes and the same for the drive time. in the green, 7 minutes. 13 minute drive across the san mateo bridge and 8 minutes across the dumbarton bridge. we had an overnight crash on the east bay on surface streets in the dublin area. we want to get to our reporter on that. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, alexis. dublin police confirmed they're investigating a fatal crash between the driver and passenger and roads still closed in both directions.

dublin police say it happened around 1:45 a.m. the driver hit a light pole driving southbound on fallon. we're told the driver and passenger both died on scene. the deputies are still on scene and the coroner left a short time ago. victims have not been identified and the cause is still under investigation. reporting live, abc7 news. >> police gave a driver a field sobriety test after a car smashed into a pole and it went down an embankment. the pole fell and power lines came down around 1:30 this morning. police have not said if a they arrested that driver. firefighters work to free a driver in an infinity in a crash in san jose. it overturned after hitting two other cars and a cree.

right on the campbell border. they took at least one person to the hospital and trying to figure out who is at fault. they haven't said whether drugs and alcohol played a role in this crash. in san joakim counties, firefighters are making slow but good progress. it shut down at tesla road and crossroad. so far, 283 acres have burned and the fire 50% contained, the cause now under investigation. it is 6:34, san bruno police releasing this dramatic surveillance video seeing people running the moment shots are fired at tanforan. dion lim takes us through the chaos step-by-step. >> reporter: it's 3:55 in the afternoon. on the second floor you can see a suspected shooter with the gun

and see him point the gun as he falls out of frame and then someone falls down and people start running. the top of your screen, they focus on a second person with a gun who stops at the elevator and fires serial shots and people run for cover. two teenage boys were shot and both expected to make full recoveries. and police are still sorting through the massive evidence. they're being recognized for their efforts to help the victims, as shots rang out two men ran towards the victims. staff sergeant isaiah locklear took off his shirt to apply pressure to a gunshot wound and helped with the stretcher. >> and michael locklear. >> i saw the gunshot wound and
