richmond, we'll check on that next. and we're tracking developing news in san francisco. a shooting in the bay view neighborhood has left one man dead and another man hospitalized. officers were called to the scene in front of the united council of human services on jennings street just after 11:00 last night. officers also set up a crime scene nearby at the corner of yosemite avenue and kei street. it is not clear if the two crime scenes are related at this point. we'll check keeping for details. >> san francisco police are look for two burglars accused of a hit-and-run. >> they hit a tourist outside of legion of honor and in front of his son. here is jobina fortson live now. >> reporter: look at what we found out here, scattered all over the parking lot. glass, and it is not clear if this is from the incident yesterday that police described to us as horrific. a father and son weresoo. but police tell us that a father

started to take photos of the burglars and then that is when police say those two burglars drove their getaway car into the father. that father was rushed to the hospital. at last check he was in stable condition. an officer and sergeant went to the hospital to be with the father and son who are not from the area. sfpd said the son needed time to feel safe while the father was recouping and they contacted the family members and picked them up from the airport. >> think about the child seeing the father injured and not being familiar with the area, i wanted to make sure that child felt safe and make sure that father felt safe recouping and make sure that the family feels safe because they're coming into a city they don't know. >> police did address the car break-in issue. investigators say in stead of taking photos, how about not leaving any valuables in the car. police can no longer chase

air force base before heading south to san diego. top democrats are calling for secretary of labor alexander acosta to resign in the wake of financier jeff epstein. and also amid the allegations are part of an old investigation into epstein for more than a decade ago where acosta served as the epstein struck a deal with acosta registering as a sex offender and serving 13 months in county jail. one of the alleged victims said she was kept in the dark as that deal was reached. >> they were already signing the secret plea agreement and keeping me out of the loop. >> joe biden, kamala harris, bernie sanders and elizabeth warren are among the presidential candidates calling for acosta to step down. abc news is going to host the third democratic primary debate and it is scheduled to take place in houston on september 12th and 13th.

the format will be announced at a later date. in san francisco, kaiser health clinicians will strike for one day and they are demanding more staffing for patients to access mental health care. psychologists and therapy pist -- therapists and social workers need help to provide essential services and reduce waits. 70% of group therapy programs have been eliminated because they don't have enough workers. they will start picketing at 7:00 this morning. and kaiser has cleared a big hurdle to build its new headquarters in oakland. last night the city council approved the sale of a public parking garage at telegraph and 21st and sold so developers for $28 million. they plan to tear down the garage and build a 29-story office complex by 2023. kaiser has promised to use the building as its new headquarters. let's take a look at what is going on outside. we have temperatures in the low to mid-60s throughout the east bay valley. how about another neighborhood, low to mid-60s.

the wild weather is here. 58 in los gatos. pacifica 57. and up in santa rosa 58 degrees. same thing in san francisco. fog is a big issue from the golden gate northward. especially around petaluma and up toward santa rosa. so watch out for that during the entire morning commute. gardening, if you have yardwork to do, do it today because the heat is coming. calmer and milder at beaches and strong sunshine out and about. here is a look at the north bay, the cloud cover through 9:00. sunshine at 11:00 and then upper 70s with sunshine this afternoon. a few neighborhoods will hit the low 80s. in the east bay, we have cloudiness through about 11:00 and then sunshine this afternoon with low to mid-70s. and for san francisco, never completely get rid of the clouds but brighter from 3k to 5:00 and then hit the mid-60s for the warmest temperatures. until then, 59 this morning and 62 with increasing clouds at 7:00. a hot accuweather seven-day forecast comingp first let's get to alexis. we have two issues to talk

about on the roads here thisrng. one of them is a new problem involving six vehicles, it sounds look a crash westbound 80 before san pablo is contained to the right shoulder. not sure about injuries but everybody is off to the side of the roadway and a delay on the approach as folks slow down to see what is going on here. with all of the vehicles on the shoulder, that makes sense. so we'll keep an eye on that. they could have to block a lane to get tow trucks or emergency crews in the area. and westbound 580 before the 680 split still hearing about the two-car crash and that one on the shoulder as well. that back-up is looking better. it was red a few minutes ago and back in the yellow now. in the north bay, partying teenagers are sparking fears of another wildfire in santa rosa in fountain grove where flames ravaged the area in 2017. neighbors say they became anxious when teens hang out at the top of the world near flintridge drive and they say smoking what is worrying them the most. >> using the lighters and

throwing out their cigarettes and cigars in the brush. so we're pretty concerned the potential for 2019 fire. >> we understand the frustration of the residents and the santa rosa police department is committed to make sure they are not revictimized. >> police are promising more patrols to cruise the area on a regular basis. in the east bay, the city of femont is one step closer to opening a homeless navigation center. the city council voted to have staff explore a city hall parking lot or a surplus sitting property on dakota road. 45 people would fill the center for up to six months and workers would connect them with support and help them find permanent housing and the city could choose a final location as soon as september. and this morning small business owners in emeryville don't know whether they'll have to pay the highest minimum wage. the city council delayed a

trend nationwide of firefighters getting sick and in some instances dying from cancer. >> but we have a responsibility to firefighters in san francisco and really nationwide to do better for them in terms of protections. >> and the center for disease control is going to launch a registry for firefighters so the agency could track their health. a new study finds there are more atmospheric river storms opts way and they will be stronger than what we experienced last winter. atmospheric rivers are long, drawn-out rain events that last for days. uc san diego researchers say they are the main source of the rainfall over the next 80 years and that could lead to more flooding and also more drought. dryneudlorer for seasons so we want to bring in mike on this. if we're having longer periods of long rain why does that mean more drought and higher fire

comfortable outside. we have cloudiness around san jose at 87, and san jose international. by afternoon we're mostly sunny with building warmth. away from the coast of course. mild patchy fog forms tonight and the hottest afternoon is friday, saturday and sunday. here is that area of low pressure that is keeping the heat in check. it is polling to the north and dragging the cool weather with it. opening the door for the heat and you could see it coming in from the south near 90 in morgan hill, 87 in gilroy and 83 in los gatos and 78 to 82 for the rest of the south bay. still very nice on the peninsula. 73 to 78 is your spread. and then you look at the coast and we have low to mid-60s for you. with upper 60s to low 70s in downtown, south san francisco and sauce alito and from 80 to about 87 from novato up to mid to upper 70s feeling comfortable along the east bay shore. starting to get close to air-conditioning weather as we hit the mid to upper 80s in our east bay valley. good news, it is comfortable
