across from the veterans memorial. amanda del castillo is live with the debate. >> reporter: just about 15 minutes ago, planning commission unanimously approved that conditional use permit for the temporary building. located just across the street from the veterans memorial. what that means is that the gym could be fully functional in that temporary space by august 1st. what many have described as serenity at the veterans memorial will be met with sounds of 6:00 a.m. workout classes. >> can't say memorial not getting attention with members down there. >> reporter: others say attention is not the problem. those opposed are concerned about activity, cars, crowds and workout classes they believe will disturb the peace. >> this particular building has been used as car dealership, isn't really correctly framed or constructed for that use.
