i.c.e. looks for about 2,000 people who skipped court dates. >> live in berkeley with details. cornell? >> reporter: eric, deon, the mayor of berkeley says his calls on the trump administration to close or improve conditions at detention centeres on the border. mayor jesse arogin told the crowd at the rally that they are ready to protect undocumented residents from possible i.c.e. raids. >> council woman says know your rights. >> when an i.c.e. agent comes to your door, you are not required to open your door. we want our community to understand that.

>> reporter: the community is uneasy about i.c.e. raids. she works with undocumented students at berkeley city college and she remembers the fear she had when she was undocumented. >> if i saw police would scare me or even to have friends. >> reporter: at sfo union workers say they won't support i.c.e. in any way. >> immigrant workers run this airport. and we're here to say as unionized workers we will not collaborate with i.c.e. in anyway. >> reporter: things not improved in a detention center one year later. >> it is inhumane. e we've got to move those population others locations. >> reporter: vice president pence toured a facility on trid and conceded that what he saw was tough stuff. in the meantime back in berkeley there were calls to close the detention centers all together.

>> close the camps now! >> reporter: mayor arogin says you can almost guarantee there will be protests if i.c.e. comes into berkeley. the aclu has filed suit in federal court requiring all immigrant detainees have a right to a lawyer if they wish. live in berkeley. >> thank you for that report. in washington state a man armed with a rival and who threw flammable objects was shot and killed outside an immigration jail early this morning. tack anyway police got a call at 4:00 a.m. the man was setting vehicles on fire and attempting to light a pro pain tank. when they got there and called out to him there was gunfire. it is not clear if the man ever shot at police but his body was found at the sight a short time later. trump's effort to crack down on sanctuary cities late

yesterday. upheld the just department's decision to prioritize policing grants to those that cooperate with policing authorities. issuing an executive order. some of those decisions are tied up in court. friday's ruling concerned a program called community oriented policing services. it is important to know your rights and we have resources to help. go to our website. abc7 news.com slash take action for information on immigration and a list of local resources. s in east bay police are searching for two men suspect odd killing another men late friday night. 32-year-old adam renfroe of brentwood and robert brown are responsible for the death of daniel schrader. he was found inside a hotel room on clayton road suffering from several gunshot wounds. he later died at the hospital. officers believe the suspects were held up inside later tooth.

out of conscio cause oit and run crash on thursdays. he was with her great grandma running errands and ran away from the family car and into the street. the driver kept driving and was found in a nearby complex with a white van he had been driving. investigators believe he had been drinking and has four prior convictions for dui. >> i'm disappointed in even after having the hit and run he still decided to keep driving. hi still decided that even though he's had incidents in the past that he's still going to keep drinking and driving. i don't understand the mentality of that. >> reporter: good samaritans rushed to help her and perform cpr until medics arrived. they quickly decided she needed to be air lifted to children's hospital for further care. a go fund me page has been set

weekend while crews remove a construction crane after a apartment fire. abc7 news was there when the crane was being dismantled. all three lanes are closed in the area. the road is expected to reopen by 7:00 p.m. tomorrow. the crane was used to help rebuild the renaissance square apartments which were under construction during the fire last year. more than $55 million in damage was done to the 180 unit complex. nearly 250 people had to be evacuated from nearby apartments. we have incredible video taken by a group of sport fisherman who hit the bay this morning and you won't believe what they managed to reel in. they were on the bay near alcatraz when they hooked a gigantic shark. the shark chomped down hard of a fish cardiacis. after a mighty struggle. think cut the line and released the shark back into the bay.

the judge says he'll issue another decision as to whether the damage should be reduced. transit riders return to san francisco's sales force today. they resume service to the $2.2 billion facility for the first time in nine months. the center closed because of cracked steel beams. it reopened after repairs july 1st. reopening to transit, west cat and greyhound riders august 1 11th. the battle of hot sauce jur pepper maker. the lawsuit over a breech of contract and fraud. underwood ranches had worked with hoifong foods three decades before a financial dispute led to the department collapsing.

tomorrow in the downtown area. the closer to the beaches we'll see the sea breeze effect temperatures and only reaching the 60s tomorrow. and look for lots of 80s in the north bay. petaluma 84. sonoma 86. vallejo 85 degrees. perfect weather in east bay. mid 70ed. berkeley. oakland. richland low 80s. 77 in union city and fremont. and hot inland. high pressure remains the biggest impact there so we've got lots of 90s, our warmest location. ath in brentwood and upper 80s, san ramon and pleasanton. tropical storm berry right now. winds about 60 miles per hour. just 45 miles south of alexandra. a slow-moving storm. it is going to pack a lot of punch in terms of rainfall. up to 10-20 inches, 25 inches in some areas. still a lot of danger there. storm surge, heavy rainfall. flash flooding, river flooding and possible tornados.
