>> so glad you are with us. don't know if you saw the full moon or drizzle or fog, but we have it all. >> natasha, you are right. good morning, reggie. one more thing we have, a little sun too in our inland valleys as we wake up with a more substantial fog footprint. we are looking at not only the clouds clearing to the coast but the temperatures coming down a little bit. they are climbing in the 70s, 80s and 90s inland. mid and upper 70s around the bay. that's cooler than yesterday inland by three or four degrees. at the coast it will take a while to clear. the sun is up and looking at a mild to warm afternoon with more clouds and fog. the gradual cooling trend taking us through the workweek today getting a little more substantial throughout the workweek. not too much showing up on the visibility layer and not too much to worry about this morning either as far as the commute is

concerned. aside from the weather conditions, westbound 80 at georgia street sounds like they are trying to clear a situation that is in that area. initially sounded like a crash and then sounded like it was just a disabled vehicle with a tire that got blown out there. they are in the clearing stages at the moment and working on getting a tow truck to the scene. we did have one lane blocked and i think everything is on the shoulder now. heavy through vallejo but not terrible. foggy once you get out on to the span and into the city. new overnight, heavy police presence in the south bay. this is the scene in san jose when officers responded to a home on cottage grove. one person taken away by ambulance. officers were seen going door to door and talking to neighbors and we don't know the nature of the investigation. one neighbor said she heard multiple gunshots while she was in bed. we reached out to the police and will bring you more information

as soon as we get mes on e at t airport. >> the ntsb is investigating the crash that killed a flight instructor and injured a student. >> reporter: good morning. the ntsb set to be out here in a few hours to begin their investigation, and that student pilot we know remains in critical condition. i will show you video from yesterday's crash. this happened at around 2:30 p.m. at the hayward executive airport. airport officials say a flight instructor and student were doing training flights that usually last about an hour in a robinson r44 helicopter. the chopper crashed near the runway and landed outside. the instructor has been identified as wane prodger and he died at the hospital. they did not receive any distress calls but they believe

the accident happened during a hovering exercise. >> you are in the air stationary in one place and that's what they were practicing, i believe, when the incident occurred. >> that helicopter they were flying does not have a black box recorder which could hinder their investigation. officials tell me the ntsb will issue an update when they clear the scene but the final report could take up to a year to complete stating probable cause. we are tracking new developments that pg&e revealed they found 10,000 problems. the problems were discovered between november and may during instebgtio inspections in areas with high fire danger. the company said most of the dangerous issues have been fixed at this point, and pg&e rapmped

up instrebgtions and repairs to represent being the cause of more wildfires. president trump starting the morning with tweets blasting four democratic congress women. abc news reporter has the latest from washington. >> good morning. the president's racist tweets seems to have unified the democratic party to rally behind the four congress women of color. now it's the republican party that remains split over whether to condemn or condone the president's behavior. the president reigniting the attacks on four congress women, and telling all four women of color to go back and fix the crime infested places in which they came, three of the four born in york, michigan and ohio. >> does it concern you many people saw that tweet as racist and white nationalists groups

welcome back. novato police want to find a man that robbed a 45-year-old woman at gunpoint. police released the surveillance images from yesterday morning around 11:00 at first street and grant avenue. that's where the woman was parked when she said the man opened her unlocked car door and pointed a gun at her and demanded money and credit cards. he got away in a blue volkswagen suv and it had temporary license

plates possibly with the numbers 945. that woman was not hurt. r. kelly was arrested in chicago last week. the 13-count federal indictment includes child porn and inicement of a minor. kelly is accused of having people conceal misconduct. a national $15 minimum dollar raise could be a reality for all american workers by 2024. the current minimum age is $7.25. studies show that raising the minimum wage does not cost jobs. and the minimum is $15.59 in san francisco, andchool start timese

through the doors, do you see the two officers there? they are citing that man for fare evading, and those officers are here for the same reason we are doing this story because airport officials tell us that people are fare evading here, and there are homeless people sleeping inside the airport. whre are they coming from? all signs point to the last train car that comes in here, and that train rolls in a little after 1:00 a.m. here at the airport. what is happening today as far as a solution? today the airport commission is set to approve a memorandum of understanding for bart to increase security at the bart station, and that includes adding a bart officer and sharing ctt footage and giving bart access to communications and installing new barriers at the bart station. "the chronicle" is reporting in the past two years airport duty managers and sfo police officers who patrol the airport have seen official contacts with homeless people triple in number.

we are looking at low clouds and fog returning, and the deck of low clouds is shallow and extending all the way down to san mateo. where we have it, there's mist and drizzle and it's dense at the coast. live doppler 7 showing you as wh st and being replaced by the trough that will hangout much of the week and that's bringing cooler air, and mount tam has a deck of low clouds, and the marine layer there. we are looking at 50s at the coast. this is a view of suture tower there. we will look at numbers in the 50s and 60s to start out with sunshine in our inland east bay, and looking at temperatures coming down slightly, maybe a bump up on your wednesday and then more significant cooling as we get towards the end of the workweek. that will take a slightly below average by the time we get to

thursday and friday. here's concord at 89. feels like a nice summer day today and tomorrow. slightly cooler than it has been. elsewhere around the bay, 73 in richmond, and 74 in oakland and san mateo. santa cruz checking in at 79 degrees. the accuweather 7-day forecast shows more heat inland. not too extreme, signifies summer, and then turning back the numbers in the middle of the week, it's more comfortable and the range is narrower, but today patchy fog to start out. alexis has the details on that. >> we are foggy in some areas, but look at this, lisa. different looking in the south bay. here's 101 and 80 as you travel through the downtown stretch. that's looking great, and even maybe a little sun glare for your commute today. in other areas we are socked in, so keep that in mind. we have a wide variety of issues there for your morning commute.
