out of tracy for a 33-minute drive from tracy to dublin, not bad at all and it has increased since we last looked, 55 minutes from tracy into castro valley. highway 101 from 85 up towards the san jose airport, you have about a ten or 11-minute drive and 280 into san about ten minutes. there's now an official center for people that experienced trauma to seek help from the gilroy garlic festival. good morning, amy. >> reporter: good morning. they are going to turn rucker elementary school into a family assistant center and offer services bi services like grief counseling here, and the victims need help after what they saw, after the terror they experienced, they need the emotional support after

they saw the 19-year-old open fire with an ak-47 type of gun killing three. witnesses say it looked like he was just randomly shooting. >> it was like a military-grade guy coming to do damage. all tactical boots, you know, the suit -- >> a tackle vest and everything. >> the bullet proof vest, and had a green hat on and glasses and he looked like he was going and ready to do >> police shot and killed that gunman. several agencies are coming together to help these victims. the district attorney's office and the red cross will be the ones who will be opening up this center. they pulled together resources to help victims file claims for medical and counseling bills and will offeree fur offering

referrals. they will have it on friday and then they will reassess whether or not they need to keep it open into next week. >> of course, hearts are heavy this morning for the three people that died in the gilroy shootings. >> all are young, and the youngest is 6-year-old steve romero of san jose, and his mother and grandmother were also shot. >> and 13-year-old kayla salazar would have celebrated her birthday this weekend. >> and also killed, 25-year-old trevor irby from new york, and he was visiting his girlfriend who was not hurt in the shooting. >> everybody was his friend. i don't care if he met them two days ago they would become his friend, that's how, you know, loveable he was. whenever he called he would always say i love you, grandma, and i would say i love you,

attacked a man in stockholm last month. the victim was beaten with a bottle and kicked. all three say they were just defending themselves. if convicted he could face two years in prison and many celebrities have voiced their support for the rapper as well as president trump. and then disturbing charges of sexual abuse involving children. the two provided foster care for children from 2011 to 2017. police say multiple children under their care were sexually victimized. both men are charged with sexual abuse of multiple children and sex with a minor and lewd acts on a child. more californians are concerned about wildfires than ever before. the public policy institute of california surveyed people this

that. for now, jobina fortson, abc7 news. >> and the unanswered question in the gilroy attack, what motivated the gunman to target the garlic festival. he grew up in gilroy and was the grandson of a two-term santa clara county supervisor. the suspect had been living with family members in nevada, and that's where he legally bought the weapon used sunday evening. he would have been barred from buying that weapon here in california. officers collected evidence from his home where he grew up, and they are also focused on the parked car that was found three miles away. from sky 7 you can see a robot alongside the vehicle. investigators were making sure there was not a bomb inside. neighbors could not believe the attacker came so close to their homes. >> it mad and st

area teens accused of stabbing an italian police officer to death. the two teens graduated in mill valley. he was a student in 2016, and that year he punched another student so far he suffered a severe brain injury. both teens' defense will be a hard sell, says dan abrams. >> it's going to be self defense, which is i didn't know he was a police officer, and he came at me and a tough argument when you have 11 stab wounds. the second guy will say i didn't even know there was a stabbing. the question is do they try and cut a deal with him. >> abrams said the fact that it was asuspected drug deal gone wrong complicates that case further. we will have more reports

the bay this coming weekend. any easy commutes out there sue? >> a few easy commutes. this is one of them right now. we will just go with the medium commute. how about that? san mateo bridge, leaving 880 towards 101 on the peninsula, you are looking at about a 19 to 20-minute drive time across the span at the high-rise and over towards san mateo. a look at 101, the cars headed in the northbound direction under the 880 over crossing. as you can see, traffic is moving well through this area as well. the rough one is over the altamont pass, as always. we have an accident out of lanes but still slow and go from tracy into livermore. you are looking at about a 55-minute drive there, and here's a look at your mass transit options for this tuesday morning. . no delays on bart, ace, or any of the golden gate ferries.
