inland neighborhoods. 78 to 88. so pretty close to average today. and by 7:00, we're back down into mainly the 50s and 60s. all right. let's get over to frances and find out what's going on with the commute.g through emeryville. a new crash reported on westbound 80 through hercules right now. it's a hit-and-run. so hopefully not blocking any lanes. traffic flowing pretty well as you make your way to the bay bridge toll plaza where it looks like they just turned the metering lights on. things are starting to back up for the fastrak lanes as well. a minor wait as you make your way through the tolls. also looking good across the san mateo bridge. a minor wait there. east bay 92, some slowing as you make your way off the san mateo bridge approaching 880 with the

off-ramp at his parn closed. b.a.r.t. reporting no delays. a.c.e. train reporting no delays at this time. now to the latest in the gilroy garlic festival shooting. >> police say they found a second gun in the gunman's car that was also purchased in nevada. authorities say the gunman went to several big box stores before the attack. what he was buying is not known. the fbi says it's looking through the gunman's social media, emails and phone. the agency says it needs up to four more days to process the crime scene. today there are a few things going on in gilroy as that community continues to heal. two gatherings will offer support to those impacted. >> some of the survivors will also be returning the the festival grounds today. abc 7 news reporter jobina fortson live in gilroy. good morning, jobina. >> reporter: reggie, natasha, the festival grounds are still closed while the investigation continues here, but starting at

around 9:00 this morning, officers will begin to escort people to christmas hill park to pick up their cars. this is a big step in moving forward following sunday's tragedy. if you need to pick up your car, you should meet at antonio elementary school, only two lots where cars can be released from today. the first is the volunteer lot on west 10th street. the second lot is at the parkside lot south of miller avenue. investigators want to make it clear access will not be granted to two other parking lots the park itself, and other vehicles won't be released. to get your car back, you need a valid driver's license, proof of insurance. we spoke to people yesterday. >> it's still very traumatic, pulling down the street and knowing what happened. it's a little triggering. i have to say i was definitely getting flashbacks of what

happened on saturday. getting normal see back, things kind of getting settled. >> reporter: tonight at 6:00 there will be two community meetings in gilroy. one at community solutions and the other at children's services. the goal is to provide emotional support and community connections for people impacted by the garlic festival shooting. live in gilroy, jobina fortson, abc 7 news. this morning, we're learning more about the victims killed in the attack. the family of trevor irby chose to speak only with abc 7 news. irby was a recent college grad who just moved to santa cruz. abc 7 news reporter luz pena has the story. >> the last thing i said to trevor was, trevor, i love you. he said mom, i love you, i'll mymo never came.

that call for me was getting on the plane to come here to bring him home to bury him. >> reporter: the call came from an officer, telling her her 25-year-old son had been killed. >> apparently it was at close range. he was behind my son. my son didn't know he was there. >> tammy and terry williams remember dropping everything and getting on the first flight from new york to the bay area to identify their son. >> so i had to wait for them to come to me with a picture of my son in the morgue to ask me if it was him. how could somebody just do that to somebody that never hurt a single soul. >> reporter: his father described trevor has his best friend and the perfectso -- senseless for a 19-year-old kid to go and have a

police got the call at about 4:15 that newborn twins had been found on the ground next to a poli fnd the mot about a hoit five-minute walk away from the newborns. business owners say they had seen her hanging around the area for the last couple of restaunt bathrooms. they assumed she was homeless. >> i didn't know she was pregnant until my employees told me. i saw her last night when i was leaving, she was walking along the back of the building. >> reporter: the woman was taken to the hospital for treatment. california does have a safe surrender law. it allows parents to safely hand their babies over within 72 hours of birth without any consequences. ers and fire stations are safe surrender sites. no questions asked. live in fairfield, amy

there is a side door that led to the tarmac. >> an airport spokesperson said they found a bottle of alcohol in the pilot's bag and did two sobriety tests. he failed one of them and results for the second are not back yet. bay area teens arrested in italy. police say the teens cried when they were told the officer died. police say 18-year-old gabriel natale hjorth and 19-year-old finn elder stabbed the officer 11 times following what they say was a drug deal. they insist the interrogation was valid. we learned the officer who was killed didn't have his gun him that night. meanwhile fin elder's father is arriving in italy. >> i'm here at rome airport. this is one of the most

according to the report. pg&e delayed upgrading the lines. detailed inspections began only after the camp fire killed 85 people. pg&e decided to retire the transmission line blamed for starting the fire. firefighters battling to get an upper hand on a wildfire burning out of control in northern california. according to "the l.a. times," the tucker fire scorched more than 14,000 acres of land. the largest wildfire in the state so far this year. cal fire says the fire started sunday afternoon. investigators say people may have accidentally started it. the fire is burning in a rural area that's making it hard for firefighters to get to. no evacuations ordered there so far. certainly always thinking about fire season. let's turn now to meteorologist mike nicco. the'a lot of fuel for fires in this state right now, mike. >> that's the drawback. you have an excellent winter season, rain season, if you will. but, yeah, that leads to fresh vegetation that eventually dies

accident. there's a stalled big rig ng cars are able to get around it. crash northbound 880 to 238 is being cleared. slowing on southbound 880 as you make youa live shot at the bay toll plaza. things are backed up into the maze. thank you, frances. happening today, connecticut's attorney general will launch an investigation into san francisco-based juul. this comes the day after a release of a new study that found ingredients in e-cigarettes can cause inflammation. researchers at yale looked at eight vaping liquids for juul e-cigarettes. when the liquids are heated they create chemicals called acetyls. in extreme cases they can damagm the lungs. juul says the study is flawed and create a measurement of exposure that would never be found in the real world.
