attack in el paso, texas and the most recent in dayton, ohio, a 24-year-old gunman opened fire in a crowded night life district of dayton late saturday and was killed in the attack. at least nine people are dead. 27 others injured. in el paso, the justice department says they're treating yesterday's shopping centering rampage as an act of domestic terrorism. more than 20 people were killed and two dozen injured. the victims ranged in age from 22 to 57. six police officers engaged the shoot are within 20 seconds of hearing the gunfire. abc news reporter jesse ker, is in dayton with the latest. >> reporter: downtown dayton, ohio, the scene of this second's second mat shooting. a gunman opening fire hours after 20 people were killed 1600 miles away in el paso, texas the first calls coming in shortly

after 1:00 a.m. >> first medic right now, we've got several down. >> suspect was wearing body armor and used an ak like gun assault rifle .223 caliber with high capacity magazines and additional magazines with him, as well. >> officers is already on patrol in the busy area filled with bars and restaurants quickly responding to the scene. >> their amazing courage and their response undoubtedly saved many, many, many lives. we will never know how many lives were saved. >> reporter: authors have identified the shooter at 24 years conner betz and confirmed his sister was among those killed. more than two dozen were transported to several area hospitals for injuries. >> injuries ranged from gunshot wounds to the lower extremities to abdominal wounds. >> reporter: witnesses describing a horrific scene. >> i will never get those sounds out of my head. just the gunshots and then the

>> yes, that'sright. the community is reacting to this shooting with several vigils planned across the city including this one here that's happening not too far from where the shooting happened. low leaders along with beto o'rourke expected to speak tonight as we start to hear more and more stories from the vips. >> when i got closer to the front, i saw people laying there. >> reporter: a frantic phone call from a friend sent jimmy and ramon right into the path of danger. >> when we arrived there was people running all over place. >> reporter: both happened to be in the area as multiple shots rang out at this el paso walmart. gee eyre know garcia and his wife were all shot as were fund-raising for a youth sports team. ramon found guillermo. >> he was complaining how he couldn't breathe. but he was still responding to me. >> reporter: the men immediately

started to help their friends. >> one of the mops was shot in the leg. so there was a person there that said, i have a minivan and will take them to the hospital. >> reporter: and then started to locate the kids who were okay before starting to help others. >> i picked up a little girl that was on the floor and took them to the paramedics. >> reporter: both are covering while del sol center had another woman being treated. her brother says she saw the smooth shooter's face. she saw the guy walking towards her and put her face count and waiting for the shot. 24 hours after the shooting, the agonizing wait for word about missing loved ones continues. >> translator: we've been trying to reach him since yesterday and we haven't heard from him. all the family is looking for him. a crowd gathered outside a reuniofication center hoping an praying for the best as members of the community did what they

could do to help show support. >> i feel like there's not much that i can do besides try and donate blood or see if there's resources an supplies that are needed at the moment. >> and you can see here this sign from this little girl when is it enough? reform now. the situation eliciting a lot of calls for gun reform happening as several victims continue to recover in nearby hospitals. we're live from el paso, abc7 news. >> thank you very much. one of the courageous individuals who helped save a group of children caught in the crossfire during yesterday's rampage in el paso gave an emotional plea to not focus on his heroic actions but the victims and their families. >> i'm more focused on the families and kids and the people that died. the spotlight should not be on me. what i did, i get it. i was heroic where most people wouldn't do that but i went. most of the focus should go out to the families.

>> the 22-year-old army automated logistics specialist spoke from fort bliss, texas. he returned home from kuwait four months ago. >> president trump offered condolences to victims. he said his administration has done a lot on gun violence but said perhaps more has to be done. >> two incredible places. we love the people. hate has no place in our country. but just on behalf of our first lady and myself, condolences to all. we have to get it stopped. this has been going on for years and years in our country. we have to get it stopped. >> president trump said he would make an official statement on the shootings tomorrow at 7:00 a.m. pack time. he also ordered flags to fly at half-staff at the white house and all federal buildings through thursday in a period of mourning for the victims of this weekend's mass shootings. governor gavin newsom

expressed outrage on twitter this morning. he sent a tweet that read "we continue to mourn, we continue to bury our loved ones. we continue to witness our neighbors, our friends and our children gunned down at our malls, churches and schools and congress does nothing." he called on federal leads are to address what he calls a crisis. victims of the mass shoot were remembered today during church services in san francisco. abc7 news was at grace cathedral where people cape to remember those killed or injured in the tragedy in gilroy last sunday. the dean of the cathedral says we need better gun control laws to make the world a safer place. >> i just wonder how many people have to be killed in situations like had before we take action. i think many of us you know saw the example of new zealand, how quickly had he aced in terms of regulating weapons like this and we wonder why we can't do the same in our democracy. >> the dean says grace cathedral has a gun violence altar and staff members who have been vips

premium. many of these computers are valued at more than $1 million. the apple 1 is important because it was the first real product from apple that became a collector's item around 1980. and probably your watch has more computing power nowadays than it did. francis has a look at the forecast. >> good evening, everyone. we're going to start off with a look at -- there we go. live doppler 7 and the satellite image. we've got coastal clouds. we only got partial clearing at the coast today. temperatures cool throughout the day. plenty of sunshine everywhere else. temperatures range now from the 60s to the 90s. so half moon bay only 61, brentwood 90 degrees. clear lake 90, lots of 70s around the bay. winds have kicked up and gusting up to 36 miles per hour in san francisco. so temperatures were a little bit cooler in some spots especially inland areas. you probably noticed the

difference today. at the coast, cloudy and cool throughout the week. what we have is a deepening marine layer and stocker on-shore flow. overnight lows tonight into tomorrow morning we'll see more extensive cloud cover and temperatures drop into the mid 50s to low 60s once again. we could see some drizzle along the coast. you might need to use your wipers in daly city or half moon bay. tomorrow's temperatures will come down more. the trend will continue especially for inland areas. we won't ceelo 90s through parts of the south bay, but 83 san jose, 73 in santa cruz with high clouds in the afternoon. at the coast, breezy conditions. the winds up to 20 miles per hour from the west. it's going to drop not low syms tomorrow. just a touch cooler for the coast. 77 in menlo park, palo alto, also in san francisco, dropping to 66 degrees. coming down a couple degrees. then cloudy at the coast with
