increasing clouds this morning. notice by noon the breezes pick up. we're 58 at the coast, 70 to 75, delightful lunch hour. notice at 4:00, what happened to the 90s? mid 80s inland, mid 70s around the bay. 50s, 60s and 70s at 7:00. we get a summer hiatus. i'll tell you how long it lasts. frances, what's going on? >> sky 7 on east bay 92 coming across the san mateo bridge, a flatbed tow truck went off the freeway. the two right lanes blocked for a while. you can see it's causing minor delays in the eastbound direction. this is the worst backup we've seen all morning. in the westbound direction f to san mateo bridge toll plaza, that's still looking pretty good right now.

also sig al left for a major injury crash in the saint helena area. northbound 29 closed at zinfandel. that's been out there a while this morning. also northbound 880 jammed up towards high street with a crash. we also have a new accident in the south bay. and i'll have that in my next report. >> frances, thank you. this morning two countries are warning their citizens not to travel to the u.s. because of violence and hate crimes that we have here. >> that includes the recent mass shootings in gilroy, el paso and dayton. today president trump is going to be visiting both dayton and el paso to offer his con del lenses. dayton's police chief revealed the dayton gunman was obsessed with violent deaths. the fbi is opening a domestic terrorism investigation into the gilroy garlic festival shooting. this morning abc 7 news reporter liz kreutz is live at sfo with the travel warning issued by venezuela and uruguay. >> reporter: good morning.

oakland is one of the cities specifically cited as one of the cities to avoid in one of the warnings along with detroit and baltimore. they cite the high crime rates. in these two travel warnings from venezuela and youruguay, t governments talk about a proliferation of violence across the u.s., criticizing the widespread possession of guns here and urge citizens to postpone trips or take precautions if they travel to the u.s. they suggest avoiding malls and festivals. we spoke to one traveler this morning about the warnings. he says he doesn't think the country's actions are too extreme. >> i think it's sad that's the point our country is at. that's how people feel about coming here, it's not good. >> reporter: do you think people should be cautious about traveling to the u.s.? >> you should be cautious about traveling anywhere. but, yeah, with everything going on lately. >> reporter: now, when we talk about violence, we have to mention venezuela has one of the highest murder rates in the

world. they also have been the focus of multiple u.s. state department travel warnings. the state department also recently raised the travel advisory level for uruguay from level one to level two because of crimes there. live at sfo, liz kreutz, abc 7 news. >> really surprising. thank you. new this morning, and this shows the kind of environment we're in. thousands of people at times square in new york city panicked last night because they thought they heard gunfire. it was actually a motorcycle backfiring. police say people thought this was an active shooter. eight people were checked out by paramedics. six were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. the nypd later tweeted the times square area is very safe. happening today, east bay congressman eric swalwell will hear your concerns about gun violence. >> so many people calling for gun reform in light of the mass shootings. swalwell is hosting a town hall at hayward city hall.

he'll talk about what congress and law enforcement agencies are doing to end gun violence. tonight's event starts at 6:30. the fbi is investigating the gilroy shooting as an act of domestic terrorism. three people were killed and more than a dozen were injured at the festival last month. in a story you'll see only on abc 7 news, one of the survivors, just 12 years old, is now sharing her story. leslie andres was with her family when the shooting happened. they ran, jumped a fence and hit. then leslie noticed something. >> i was like, what was that, and then i touched myself and there was blood on my hand. so then i told my cousins i got shot. >> fortunately she's okay. she was at the festival with at least 20 of her family members. she was the only one who was injured. wsis hhoite governor gavin >>omnies across t countr jne forces with a national night hour. people got the chance to get to

afternoon. let's get back to frances. a busy morning on the roads. busy morning and a new crash in san jose on northbound 87, this one at curtner. injuries might be there as well. we'll let you know how that affects traffic. sky 7 is live over a sig alert in hayward, eastbound 92 off the san mateo bridge. the two right lanes have been blocked all morning long. only one lane getting by. traffic is slow in the east bay direction. westbound also a little sluggish as you make your way to the toll plaza. southbound 680 jammed through walnut creek. it's heavy on southbound 242 that whole stretch, and then it's slow towards highway 24. this was due to an earlier brush fire that was visible on the free weigh. >> frances, thank you. people are reacting to the loss of a major recycling center chain with locations all across the state. >> replanet is closing all 284 stores. the recycling store gave people

direction as to the toll plaza. probably because cars can see all the activity on the opposite side of the freeway. i'll show you the traffic maps, westbound 92 is heavier than eastbound 92. a new crash reported in san mateo northbound 101 near 92. but it looks like it's off to the right-hand shoulder and not causing a delay at this point. the other major problem is in the north bay, northbound 29 closed at zinfandel due to a major injury accident. traffic detoured onto silverado trail. traffic is slow approaching the scene. heads up for all a.c.e. train commuters. all trains running ten to 15 minutes late due to speed restrictions for track maintenance. a live shot at the bay bridge toll plaza. fastrak lanes backed up past the 880 overcrossing. president trump is on his way today ton, ohio, the first

direction. westbound traffic also jammed all the way from 880 to the toll plaza. a new crash also reported in that area southbound 880 at industrial. this looks like a bad motorcycle accident, injuries possible as well. the middle lane is blocked. so traffic is slow on southbound 880 through hayward. it's just been a crawl westbound 580 with a new injury crash. westbound 205 at 580. another accident as you make your way into the altamont pass. this is causing hour-long delays westbound 580 tracy to dublin almost an hour and a half. new this morning, exclusive security video obtained by cnn that shows the dayton gunman in a bar just hours before the shooti shooting. you can see him enter the bar with his sister megan and a friend. police say there's nothing to indicate the sister or friend knew he had weapons. his sister was among the nine killed in the shooting. >> president trump is getting ready to board air force one.

ting on their first date. >> he was interested in what makes terrible people do terrible things. >> the betts family releasing a statement tuesday evening. >> they offer the most heartfelt prayers an condolences. >> reporter: in el paso disturbing details on the walmart massacre. 21-year-old patrick crusius is showing no remorse after police say he killed 22 people. >> he appears to be in a state of shock and confusion. >> reporter: crusius is charged with capital murder. federal authorities say there could be more charges coming. his family saying, quote, patrick's actions were apparently influenced by people we do not know and from ideas and beliefs we do not accept or condone. he was raised in a family that caught love, kindness, respect and tolerance, rejecting racism, prejudice, hatred and violence. authorities say he targeted mexicans in paicular events of y will not define us. they will not destroy us.

and be quiet. o'rourke responded saying, 22 people in my hometown are dead after an act of terror inspired your racism. el paso will not be quiet and neither will i. the family of the gilroy garlic festival gunman is apologizing to the victims of the rampage. in their first public statement his family says they're deeply shocked and horrified by his actions. they say it is, quote, impossible to reconcile this with the son we thought we knew. they released a statement soon after the fbi said they were opening a domestic terrorism investigation into the shooting. fbi agents say the shooter had a number of targets including courthouses and political rups affiliated with both democrats and republicans. authorities say they believe the shooter was motivated by hate. the family of shooting victim keyla salazar says they will push for laws to end gun violence. hundreds of people packed a san jose church for her funeral service yesterday. you can see the mourningers were

writing messages on keyla's casket. the bishop who led the service says her death is an example of tragic gun violence. so sad, only 13 years old. a man is wanted for stabbing two people in a downtown berkeley b.a.r.t. station. both are expected to be okay. that man got away. let's get to abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield live at that b.a.r.t. station. >> reporter: good morning, natasha. it happened on this escalator. the two victims were riding up the escalator at this downtown berkeley b.a.r.t. station. it was 12:50 yesterday morning when they were stand. police say their attacker got away, that he left the scene on a bicycle. we talked to a b.a.r.t. rider this morning who said he knew something had happened, but generally he doesn't worry about his safety. he says he keeps to himself and

estimated that number was 6%. they did that in 2016. juul is launching a new bluetooth connected e-cigarette that requires users to be at least 18 years old. the device connects to an android app that monitors vaping. adult users must go through an i.d. verification process to use it. the device locks if you're not verified so no one else can use it. the change is part of juul's efforts to prevent teen vaping. neighbors in one oakland neighborhood won't be able to head to their local safe way to get alcohol for the next 60 days. the state suspended the liquor license of the store on college avenue. inspectors took the action after clerks were caught selling to minors. that store will now be on probation for three years. facebook is suing two android app developers for infecting user's phones with malware. >> according to the lawsuit, the apps look legit but generate fake facebook ads. once you click on the ad, developers get your money and
