and out of the terminal. kate larson is live at the terminal right now with what the changes mean for you. kate? >> reporter: good evening, eric. the third floor bus deck is open. and it is sort of the last transportation component of the transit center that needed to reopen after it of course, closed last september. you'll remember this. six weeks after opening a worker discovered cracks in a steel beam in the transit center. the evacuated and then discovered another cracked beam the next day. it has been at least part of it has been closed ever since. this is a big deal to have the third floor bus deck reopen finally. take a look today for the first time in ten months, buses are running on the third floor bus deck. ac transit operates 26 transit lines from the bus deck, plus four early bird express lines for b.a.r.t. and sf muni has one like on the third floor bus deck that gross to treasure island.

riders i spoke to this evening are excited about the new deck. >> it's like you know, it seemed like forever but now it's here. >> reporter: what do you think of it now that it's here? >> it's beautiful. >> we suffered kind of a big loss when we lost the terminal last year. now we have it back, we have the opportunity to make commuting a lot easier for a lot of people including myself that need to get around. >> reporter: so the main advantage of the third floor bus deck over the ground level temporary transit terminal is that there is one lane that goes directly from the upper deck of the bay bridge down to the transit center the, you avoid all of that nasty street level traffic. so tomorrow, the big deal is that ac transit is resuming their full week daye bus service that all be going to and from the third floor bus deck. all riders need to know is when this he get off of a bus, they'll be here at the transit

center, not the temporary terminal and when they go ahead to get on the bus, they need to come to the transit center. not the temporary terminal a couple blocks away. there will be ambassadors around and plenty of signage showing the way. that's the latest live at the salesforce transit center. abc news. >> now for muni train riders starting tomorrow night between 9:30 p.m. and 1:00 a.m., substitute buts replace light rail service between the embarcadero and west portal stations. the shutdown will give crews time to work on overheadlines, tracks and signals. they said a similar shut down is planned for december. >> a car almost plowed through a building after a crash this afternoon in san francisco's outer mission. the t-bone collision happened on mission street and highland avenue around noon today. one of the vehicles was pushed into the sidewalk and hit the side of a building. ambulances responded to take

injured people away to the hospital. the cause that have crash is still under investigation. pedestrian safety advocates say they're devastating and furious after a taxi hit and killed a 79-year-old woman walking in san francisco last night. it happened just before 9:00 p.m. near fifth and market streets. police have not released details of what happened. this marks the city's 15th pedestrian or cyclist death this year. >> we asking that our mayor snep and intervene and gather and convene the city agencies committed to vision zero eliminating all pedestrian fatalities and serious injuries by 2024 and find a solution. >> the mayor's office has not yet responded to our request for a comment. san bruno police arrest aid lyft driver after a woman accused him of picking her up at a bar and sexually assaulting her. the driver identified as an 46-year-old tonye kolokolo faces

charges of false imprisonment and rape. lyft tells abc7 news it has reached out to the rider and permanently removed his access. >> a woman who has a disability that requires her to have a service dog says she's faced discrimination from lyft drivers who refused her rides and calling on the company to do more to educate drivers. liz kreutz has more on that story. >> reporter: hi, talia lubin shared her story after feeling lyft didn't do enough in response to repeated discrimination from lyft drivers some of whom canceled rides because of her dog. she feels it's an issue that needs to be addressed. tal la lubin has type 1 diabetes. mer service dog as tra is her best friend and guardian. >> she saved my life a bunch of times. i can't like -- we're a good team. >> reporter: despite laws that protect service dogs and handlers, she often faces

discrimination. most recently from lyft. three different drivers refused her service because of as tra. >> whenever this sort of thing happens, it feels -- it's so painful. >> reporter: the first incident happened earlier this year. she said the lyft driver pulled up, saw as tra and drove away. following two incidents happened on the same day last week. >> the first driver pulled over and i was saying hi, how are you. he cuts me off and is like, you can't have a dog. you can't bring your dog. >> reporter: >> reporter: after arguing she got him to drive her but felt harassed the ride. on the way back, another driver canceled. >> it's scary because you're like am i not going to get home? what am i supposed to do? it's hard enough having like this chronic disability. to have it make your life even more difficult because there are people that discriminate. >> reporter: a lyft spokesman sent us this statement saying

what talia described is unacceptable. lyft has a strict policy requiring drivers to accommodate service animals and failure to do so can result in being removed from the lyft community. >> they think having the policy in place is enough but it's not if you don't ensure that the people that need to be paying attention to it know about it. so that's what i'm hoping to change. >> reporter: antalya did report all three instances to lyft and told that lyft temporarily suspended the drivers accounts and they were reminded of the service animal policy. she was given a $5 credit but she's really asking for more education so things like this don't happen in the first place. liz kreutz, abc7 news. >> liz, we've heard complaints like this before that ride share companies discrip nate. but in those cases, right, people have sued. >> reporter: yeah, that is right. you know, our 7 on your side team reported both lyft and uber are the targets of class action
