the east bay. >> abc 7 news report are amy hollyfield is live in lafayette. good morning, amy. >> reporter: good morning. a common reaction when we talk to people about this is thank you for telling me. people did not know about this, and it's going to be huge, big impact on the weekend. here is what you need to know. the lafayette b.a.r.t. station will be closed this weekend because they're going to be doing some track work. so they're going to have bus bridges to shuttle people between the walnut creek and orinda stations. this will also impact highway 24. officials are going to shut down two eastbound lanes this weekend to make room for the big crane they need to bring in for the construction work. traffic through lafayette will be rough this weekend. this is also so b.a.r.t. can do upgrade work. they'll be replacing 50-year-old track. >> oh, yeah. i take b.a.r.t. every day into work or three days a week. i'm glad they're fixing it. >> i guess that's unfortunate.

drivers. take a look at the outage map. it shows the areas impacted including sausalito, larkspur and greenbrae. pg&e restored power just before 1:30 this morning. three redfin offices in the east bay remay closed after police say a former employee made a veiled threat about guns. an employee who was fired told a manager, quote, this is why people bring shotguns to work. police say he worked at redfin's dublin office. the real estate company closed its bay area offices as a precaution. the san francisco office reopened on wednesday. employees say the company brought in counselors and a security guard. >> i'm sure it will help calm a lot of peep's nerves. i'm not particularly frightened. >> pleasanton police have been in touch with the fired employee. they say they have no reason to believe he has access to any weapons. redfin's east bay offices will reopen next week.

6:04 now. ntsb investigators will be in tennessee examining this wreckage. this is a plane crash involving dale earnhardt jr. and his family. it could have been so much worse. the nascar legend was in his private plane with his wife, young daughter and two pilots when it skidded off the runway and burst into flames. he went to the hospital with cuts and scrapes. he's already been released. earnhardt retired from full time racing in 2017. he now works as a tv commentator. one of the two congresswomen denied entry into israel has been granted access on humanitarian grounds. rashida tlaib will be allowed to visit her grandmother in the west bank. yesterday president trump defended israel's decision to ban the congresswoman after he pressured the country to do so.

doubled to 54,000 customers without power. as of 1:30 this morning, the utility company tweeted the power had been restored. look at the video from overnight. it was completely dark in sausalito, larkspur and several other areas. crews rushed to put out stop signs all over the county at intersections for drivers. others managed to have a little fun during the outage. >> bark spur, no power, stilling inks a hin a good time at the silver peso. >> reporter: here is a look inside. the blue emergency lights adding extra vibe to the bar's aesthetic. people continued to play pool and drink until the power was restored. a reminder, pg&e is saying with a major outage like this, please don't call 911 unless you have an emergency. live in sausalito, jobina fortson, abc 7 news. in the south bay it was a real emergency. firefighters are still on the scene of a wildfire to make sure it doesn't ignite.

this broke out along santa teresa boulevard and bailey avenue in san jose yesterday. people had to evacuate for a time as flames approached about a dozen homes. the fire spread to 60 acres before crews had it contained. one firefighter needed medical treatment because of heat-related problems. 6:34. on the peninsula, a man is accused of trying to kidnap an 11-year-old girl. police say a man approached a girl as she was walking down palm avenue in south san francisco yesterday morning. investigators say he grabbed her and put his hand over her mouth. a passerby saw what was happened and intervened. police tracked down 37-year-old christopher cole at a nearby adult care home and arrested him. the san francisco police officers association is weighing in on the attack of a woman that shocked the community. >> they are not happy with the judge involved. we've been showing you this video of a man repeatedly grabbing a woman and pulling her to the ground as she tried to enter a condo building over the weekend. the judge in the case saw the video but still decided to

release james austin vincent into a pretrial diversion program meaning he's going to be assigned a case manager and is free until his next court date. the police officers association is calling for the judge to be reassigned to traffic court, saying judge christine van aken's decision puts the victim at risk. they say she should not be allowed to preside over any criminal cases. she may have been a reasonably competent civil attorney but is a catastrophe of a criminal judge. governor knew some spoke briefly about the incident during a stop in san francisco yesterday. >> people sometimes think they're flippantly dealt with and not seriously dealt with. people are back out on the streets, potentially can commit the crime again. abc 7 news has learned vincent is schedule to appear in court this morning for a hearing. it's unclear right now what exactly is going to be discussed. following the mass shootings in gilroy, el paso and dayton, local law enforcement is encouraging everyone to be prepared for the worse.

week. employees were previously asked to move their belongings on wednesday. that fire delayed theocess. work to replace all the joints on the upper deck of the richmond-san rafael bridge is finally done. a chunk of concrete fell in january and hit a car. fortunately no one was hurt. the joints on the lower deck will be replaced next year as part of an $85 million makeover project. the state okayed $20 million for that work yesterday. caltrans also plans to repaint the lower deck and towers to protect the steel. a commuter alert about b.a.r.t. this weekend. we'll have riders taking buses and could mean delays for riders. >> looking live at the big board at the new york stock exchange. a wild couple weeks. up 197 points. we'll bring you another update on how the markets are doing up next. one of the most iconic buildings in san francisco's skyline could soon have new owners. maybe a new name, reginald tower? has a ring to it.
