we're starting with a quick hook at our forecast. >> good morning to you. here is live doppler 7 where the fog has extended so far into concord. you can see some of the low clouds. temperatures in the low 50s. 58 in san francisco. so two to four degrees cooling right now in our inland and east bay. we still have the clear sky here in the city, but we will be looking for some clouds to move all away the bay this morning. by noontime just in the 70s

inland and around the bay. in the afternoon we will be hard pressed to reach 80. so cooler day today. especially inland where temperatures will come down another three to four degrees. a bit of a warming trend for the week ahead. today a neighborhood group will hold a rally to support a woman attacked outside our condo complex. we have been focussed on this story because one of the concerns is public safety. on friday the judge ordered the suspect to wear an ankle monitor after she saw the video of the attack which wasn't presented initially in court. >> the fact that he was released out a real plan around how we're going to get him the help that he needs to not do what he did again, that's what i'm concerned

about. >> supervisor matt heyny weighed in saying in a new statement it is unacceptable for people with severe mental illness to be released to our treats without being homeless navigation centers could also be coming to other parts of san francisco. there is a proposal to build one in the city's bay view district. it is met with opposition, especially from business owners in that area. >> because of the homeless problem, we are not going to do business in this area of san francisco. >> reporter: according to ray who is spearheading the campaign, the homeless are bad for his bottom line. >> we have all had experience with crimes of all natures, arson, theft, drug abuse,

prostitution, just -- it just rans rampid. >> reporter: right now a navigation center is set up nearby. outside are tents and rv. he and many others who signed a petition to stop the center are sure it will happen at the proposed sight as well. he signed leon's petition. >> they peeed in front of us right here. what can you do? and police said it's not help anybody. i cannot help. that's why i do not think it is a good idea. >> reporter: the mayor said we need more shelters like the bay view where there aren't currently enough resources to help the people who need them. >> i would really benefit from the homeless center, you know, from them opening a homeless

some people froming eliberio morning. this will be the tenth day of deliberations. on thursday jurors asked for a read back of tom from someone ivt the ghost ship warehouse. she testified the need for fire sprinklers came up at house meetings but said she didn't have the $50,000 needed to get them installed. service restored after two main water breaks. it ruptured early yesterday morning. crews were able to cap that leak around 7:00 last night. then a second leak happened on fresno street. the city says customers who see discoloration in their water should flush the line until that water turns clear. call the city water department.

there is no service which affects the lafayette station, too. to accommodate, lanes on the highway have been shut down. this might be a headache for a lot of people, it is actually a part of an effort to build a better bay area by improving bart service. there are shuttle busses that run to replace those trains. a look at how that's all working out. >> i said we almost didn't even go to san francisco because it was going to be such a long time to get here, yeah. >> kind of a hassle today or what? >> yeah. >> jane from antioch thought about stays home but ended up taking bart. bart workers were telling workers the way. bus bridges are running this weekend because of all this construction work happening at the tracks near the lafayette station. >> we're replacing 5,000 feet of

station, but parking spaces were banishing fast. jeremy from walnut creek planned ahead. >> we knew about the bridge and all that. we're picking up some friends who were out of town. they know to come this way. >> bart says work is on schedule and should be done on time for the monday morning commute. the total replacement won't be done until october, so expect more delays come labor day weekend. in the south bay the rolling stones returned to the bay area for the band's first concert here in six years. the concert was scheduled for may 18th was postponed because mick jagger underwent heart surgery. tickets sold for that original date will be honored and those that can't make it will get a refund. it starts at 7:30, is expected to go on past the 10:00 p.m. sunday curfew. and that's understandable.

it is beautiful this morning. you can see a few cars on the bridge this morning. people heading out to enjoy this wonderful sunny day that we have in store. this morning bay area rescue teams will be back out helping in the search for a missing hiker. crews are assisting in this effort. it is about 75 miles northwest of redding. daniel went on a solo hike eight days ago. he was last heard from on sunday. he is an experienced hiker, but he was expected to get back home last wednesday. sustainability is something we're focussed on. this morning an update to a story we brought you last week about california's biggest chain of recycling centers closing their locations. we're getting a new look on the pressure this is bringing other centers. management at the centers also worry that they may have to close soon.

here is abc 7 news reporter. >> reporter: once the clock hit 4:30 p.m., this marked the last car allowed to cash in their recyclables. >> i'm grateful to be able to take my resicycling and get mon for it. >> two other places closed down. we used to go there. >> reporter: california's biggest chain of recycling centers. closedding s francisco, alameda and san jose. now they are having to pick up the slack and process new customers. >> we'll get about 320 customers. that's about 104 customers we normally would get. >> reporter: more than 6,000 pounds of class tick were collected at this center

they have been in business for 40 years and now they're concerned the trade war with china is going to put them out of business. >> now all of those ports in china have been closed to us. so we're having to go as far as india, singapore, indonesia, vietnam, and those countries are inundated with material and can't take anymore. >> reporter: council members saw this coming. >> asking for $800,000 in compensation, and we couldn't allow it, so we only provided $403,000, i think. we have resources to help you recycle and compost. in the east bay family members

got to meet with the men and women who cared for their children when they were just infants. nurses and parents reunited at walnut medical creek center. when there are complications, the baby's first few weeks or months are spent at the . yesterday families brought along their toddlers to say thank you to make sure people were happy and healthy. >> we were here for eight and nine weeks, and it was the most incredible experience that i personally have ever had inside of a hospital. >> reporter: one in eight babies born in the united states is premature and require a longer hospital stay. this is one of those encounters with nature that a minnesota couple would never forget. they thought they spotted a bald eagle. but then the bird who was showing off its incredible

sad. hopefully we won't be too hot here this week coming up. >> we do have a little bit of a warming trend coming our way. we're having the extremes from the past few days to this weekend. maybe a bit of a warm-up welcome by mid-week. we are looking for that in our inland valleys. dive doppler seven checking out the fog. you can see it but not totally in the bay. we have those southerly winds allowing for the cool down and keeping some of the fog at bay in the south bay. right now looking at 59, 60 in san jose. oakland is at 64. it's in the upper 50s. half-moon bay 59. and could even see some mist and drizzle. you can see, though, nicececece advantage point here. pretty chilly there. 60 by the delta.

those winds up to 30 miles an hour and looking at 60 in concord. once again, with the winds on the coast and also through the delta an indicator of that cooler air being transported into our inland valleys again today. certainly a good 20 degrees cooler yesterday. kind of an interesting picture from walnut creek. our forecast highlights a gray start for some of you. little change tomorrow. the changes come by the middle of the week inland where numbers will be back into the 90s, even triple digits for a day, maybe a day and a half in our inland valleys. as we look at the fog, it is pretty robust this morning, but it does burn back. with that tall deck over 2,500 feet, we're not going to see some sun at the coast. in fact, it will be pretty gray at times. look at the push all the way to

the sacramento valley and possibly mist and drizzle at the coast. into the mid-90s for con card. fair field at 98. 80s around the bay. thursday looks to be the warmest day. those pinks coming into play inland so perhaps 100 degrees in spots. san francisco is still in the 70s. by friday we're still warm, somewhat typical of summer where we have the 60s to the 90s, maybe a little bit above average. highs today in line with the coolest day of the week. 70 for you in san n n n n n n 81 in livermoore. just for about an hour reaching the 80s. strong push of marine air and the about you weather forecast. 60s, 70s and 80s. slightly warmer tomorrow after

trip across the golden gate bridge and grew into a mire of bureaucracy. how did a bridge crossing turn into such a big problem? since there are no toll takers, tas track, it went to his old address in santa clara and the post office didn't forward it, so eric forgot about it until he got his dmv renewal notice. >> to my surprise, there was an $81 penalty. >> that $7 bridge toll had grown to $81. >> i was kind of shocked so, i called fast track. >> eric wrote this long essay appealing the fine. >> and i asked them why. they said, well, because i didn't put a fast track account number. >> but he has no fast track account. it took two months to clear it up. and then another delay. >> you have to do it through the mail. >> the dmv won't let you renew

online if you had to clear a penalty, so he mailed in all the paperwork. >> at four weeks out, i called them. and in eight weeks i called them and they said, well, it's taking eight weeks. >> by then it was too late. >> technically any regular tris is expired. they said that's up to the police officer's discretion if they want to give you a ticket. >> the dmv did charge him a late see. >> at that point i was fed up. >> eric contacted 7 on your side. we contacted the dmv. it said most renewals are handled quickly. some transactions require special processing. this was the case with this renewal and we apologize for the delay. the dmv sent his new tags and waived that late fee. >> i hope that we're done with it. >> the dmv says it receives 50,000 mail-in renewals every single create a

news to build a better bay area. this is abc 7 mornings. >> welcome back, everybody. we are starting with a check of our forecast. >> good morning to you. and you can see here from our picture in san francisco looks nice and clear. so far the fog not in the city, but it is around the bay. we're looking at temperatures in the upper 50s. 64 in oakland. 60 in san jose. from our roof camera, it is a

cool start in the north bay. it is 60 for you in concord. and you experienced the cooldown yesterday. another two to four degrees of cooling that translates into a cooler afternoon. so a slow warmup today as we look. 9:00 still some fog in the north bay along the coast, but a sunny afternoon. by 2:00 we have low 70s inland. isn't that a change with 60s around the bay. by the evening hours the fog is moving back, and we'll look for a bit of a warmup as we head to the week ahead. i'll have the details in a few minutes. one of the 86 people killed in california's deadliest wild fire has been identified. the remains were identified by the county sheriffs office, which brings the total number to 81. three others were identified but

happening today san francisco's sunday street summer series continues in sonoma. the home to the lbgtq heritage e districts. it includes a dog fashion show and lots of funam. runs from 11:00 to 4:00 this afternoon. and i think it will be a great day to get outside, right? >> partly cloudy. temperatures in the mid and upper 60s there. there hasn't been that intrusion of low clouds where numbers are right around 60 degrees. the average high right where it should be this year, in the low 80s. we'll talk about a warm-up next.

but by the middle of the week, ho ho hot weather returns, staying comfortable around the coast. so it's pretty cool out there. 64 over in oakland with more low 50s up in the north bay. and looking at the numbers anywhere from the 60s to 70s around the bay and just a few low 80s by late in the afternoon today. here is a look at santa cruz. looks interesting there with the lights playing on the camera. temperatures in the mid-50s looking at mid to upper 60s today. so cool beach day with only partial clearing. here is a look at live doppler 7, where you can see the fog around the bay. we look at our temperature spread for the east bay in the low 80s. we're going to say that way into monday. moving back into our east bay valleys. looking at mid-90s.

thursday lookins to be the hottt day. if you like it warm inland, heat returns. 82 in san jose. look for 81 in in in in 77 where you should be on the peninsula for mid to late august. a lot of sunshine for you. 67 downtown. partial clearing here. up in the north bay numbers really in line with more comfortable leaders. 81 in neva. lo for 83. but all in all a bigger cooldown for you in our inland valleys. 72 concord. look for mid-70east 20 degrees and even today upper 70s for walnut creek. livermor we talked about you in the 80s and then looking at not only the warming trend for inland valleys, but if you are

up this restaurant in 1966. we took this place over for my brother and it was a burger place. it was just like a little snow white drive-in. and he started selling fa lafl balls. it was just burgers back then. they never even heard of a fa lafl. literally nobody in this area knew what a fa lafl was. they opened it, dissected it and didn't know what to think of it, but they loved it. now everybody loves fa lafls. it is just like a burg here. >> it is my turn now. let's try this thing out. oh, my goodness. so many great flavors. a little bit of mess. excuse me. flavor in every single part of this delicious dish. it always tastes the exact same. >> it is just amazing.
