crime. abc7news reporter has the story. >> reporter: according to some police, the 17-year-old was held in that home for more than 30 minutes. they say he was being physically abused that entire time. we spoke to the daughter who said it was self defense. >> inside her 15-year-old sister's bedroom said her mom and her stepdad found a teenage boy hiding on thursday around 2:30 a.m. >> they were so squared because they find someone in the closet. they jump because everybody was sleeping. >> catherine came out of bet when she heard the commotion. and he hit her mom. >> he purged her and my stepdad, of course.

abused a 17-year-old african-american victim, 30 minutes and threatened to kill him. >> the victim reported that throughout this attack, the suspects yelled at him using multiple racial slurs. he believed his race to be a motivating factor in the attack. >> some neighbors say they heard screams. >> what was he screening? like oooh. in pain. >> kidnap and assault with a deadly went and criminal threats he was charged with. child protective services took the 15-year-old girl from the home and now according to police some of the crimes these suspects are accused of can carry "mandatory life sentences." abc 7 news. >> the dwindling pool of
