opened back up. 19th floor remains closed. air in the hotel and area is not toxic. san jose police are now in charge of the ongoing investigation. total of seven staff members and two motel guests had to be decontame nated after toxic chemicals were found on the 19th floor. >> initial reports were saying that somebody attempted suicide using chemicals. >> reporter: in email to abc7 news, confirmed death by suicide, victim adult female. chemicals were found in her room. >> what they are or how many, i don't know. hazard was contained to one room. >> reporter: in email to abc7 news the hotel says we continue to work closely with local ems and our own safety officials to

than 50 people attacked san jose police officers early this morning before bars were closing in downtown san jose. some of the chaos was caught on camera, luz pena was at the scene, has the latest from the police association and witnesses. >> reporter: the san jose police officers association described the scene as chaotic, multiple officers called for backup to control the scene. four injured. >> seriously fighting with the cops. >> reporter: crowd of more than 50 people caught on the video exchanging words. according to the san jose police officer association, many challenged officers to fight. >> punched in the head. many struggles with officers, four being arrested. chaos. >> reporter: police confirmed that multiple officers were issuing citations for drinking alcohol in public for people on market and santa clara streets
