the three cable networks is currently in contract negotiations with at&t. at&t pays disney for the right to retransmit the broadcast signal of abc7 and to carry the cable networks they provide to their at&t directv subscribers. if the two companies cannot come to an agreement, at&t will drop abc7, espn, the dinsney channel. abc owned stations in seven other u.s. cities would be affected as well. at&t provided this statement, we are disappointed to see the walt disney company put their viewers into the middle of negotiations. we are on the side of consumer choice and value and want to keep disney channels and owned and operated local abc stations in eight cities in our customers' lineups. we hope to avoid any interruption to the services some of our customers care about. our goal is always to deliver the content our customers want at a value that also makes sense to them. we'll continue to fight for that

to weigh in. and while you think about that, we turn to abc7 news i-team reporter melanie woodrow who's been covering this story with the latest from the newsroom. >> huffman pleaded guilty in the varsity blues case, the country's largest college admissions scandal. you might recall the recommendation was one month. the judge opted instead to give her half of that. >> reporter: in addition to 14 days in prison, huffman will have to perform 250 hours of community service and pay a $30,000 fine. she'll also serve one year of probation. huffman pleaded guilty to conspiracy and fraud in connection with paying $15,000 to have an s.a.t. proctor correct her daughter's answers. during her court appearance, huffman told the court her daughter asked her why she didn't believe in her. huffman said i was frightened, stupid and i was wrong. i've inflicted more damage than i could ever imagine. she released a statement, i especially want to apologize to the students who work hard every

day to get into college and to their parents who make tremendous sacrifices supporting their children. huffman has been ordered to self-report to a facility determined by the bureau of prisons on october 25th. her attorney asked that she go to a prison right here in the bay area in devlin. three local parents who have also pleaded guilty will be sentenced by the same judge in october. the government sentencing recommendations for peter sartorio range from 1 to 15 months. in the newsroom for the i-team, melanie woodrow abc7 news. >> question, melanie, did the judge say anything else? >> yes, the judge did. the judge talked about the outrage in this case by the public, the idea that a lot of people believe the college admissions system is already flawed and huffman had taken an additional step of obtaining one more advantage to put her child ahead of others. >> melanie woodrow live from our newsroom, thank you so much. felicity huffman's lawyer asked

northwest, but take a look at this, and two in the same week drawing a lot of attention. look at those lightning strikes there. that's a long distance shot of lightning that is striking the space needle and the radio towers on queen anne hill. a guy by the name of patrick turner posted that photo on instagram. the lightning strike came only days after a violent thunderstorm hit seattle. it actually delayed the cal washington football game last saturday night for several hours and my nephew lives in seattle. he said that lightning storm was so intense. he had never seen anything like it. and cal actually came back after the delay to win that game, which was a surprise as well. >> that was cool to see though. absolutely. >> yeah, just >> yeah. we want to talk about our weather and just how long this heat's hanging around. >> this may be the last day of the truly intense heat. overnight we'll see mild conditions under clear skies, low temperatures mainly in the low 60s, am thoughlthough a lit cooler in the north bay valleys.
