facilities in saudi arabia. president trump responding saying the u.s. is, quote, locked and loaded. >> meanwhile, oil prices are surging and the president is taking action to protect consumers. abc's trevor ault begins our coverage. trevor, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, kenneth. good morning, mona. this is no doubt one of the most serious foreign policy challenges president trump has faced. an official tells abc news there's been urgent meetings through the weekend trying to figure out the best course forward here and whether or not to escalate this conflict with iran. this morning, tensions in the gulf rising to their highest level in years following a strike on a saudi oil facility that american leaders are calling unprecedented. senior u.s. officials telling abc news they believe iran is responsible claiming the country launched 20 drones and nearly a dozen cruise missiles in this attack on the world's largest oil processing plant. the president now saying the u.s. is waiting on word from saudi arabia for the next move but retaliation could be imminent tweeting that there is

on whether the u.s. would move forward with these retaliatory strikes and kellyanne conway said many options are on the table. meanwhile, top democrats in washington have laid out their demands to president trump as he prepares to announce new n l oposs as early as this week. house speaker nancy pelosi and senate minority leader chuck schumer have told the president any bill must include expanded background checks. they then promise to join him at the signing ceremony if he agrees to their terms. and breaking overnight, the united autoworkers union has gone on strike against general motors. the union says the two sides remain far apart on several issues in contract talks, which are expected to resume today. >> we just want what's fair to us. a few years back we gave up a lot to keep this house open and all the houses around general

"the new york times" published a previously unreported account from a former yale classmate of justice brett kavanaugh max stier who says he saw kavanaugh expose himself at a party his freshman year in 1983

and saw kavanaugh's friends pushing him into a female student's hand. this latest allegation never reportedly pursued by the fbi. kavanaugh supporters are coming to his defense saying "the times" essay adapted from an upcoming book about the justice does not tell the full story. >> this article just shows the obsession with the far left with trying to smear justice kavanaugh by going 30 years back with anonymous sources. >> reporter: the book says the female student did not wish to speak publicly and her friends say she doesn't remember the incident.di kavanaugh tweeting, he is an innocent man who has been treated horribly. such lies about him. following president trump's nomination of kavanaugh to the supreme court, another former yale classmate, deborah ramirez alleged kavanaugh exposed himself at a different party when they were both drunk. she says she shoved him away in the process accidentally touching him and dr. christine blasey ford also came forward with allegations that he assaulted her when they were teenager. the fbi launched an

investigation but found in corroboration of the allegations. kavanaugh denying all claims of sexual assault. >> i strongly opposed him based on his views on executive power which will continue to haunt our country as well as how he behaved including the allegations that we are hearing more about. >> several 2020 democratic hopefuls are now calling for impeachment. elizabeth warren tweeting, like the man who appointed him, kavanaugh should be impeached. the senate majority leader standing behind the justice tweeting, i look forward to many years of service to come from justice kavanaugh. kavanaugh so far declining to comment on "the times" story. the new book or the fresh allegation. former vice president joe biden is not calling for kavanaugh's impeachment but says, quote, we must follow the evidence to wherever it leads. the woman accusing patriots wide receiver antonio brown of rape is expected to meet with nfl investigators today amid news of a recently rejected settlement offer. britney taylor's civil suit claims she was raped and sexually assaulted.

now she's suing the movie's producers. >> i never thought that something like that would happen to me. >> reporter: according to the lawsuit, jackson was scheduled to shoot a fight scene in september of 2015. but at the last minute producers switched to a dangerous and me. she says the camera was supposed to move before she reached it but it did not lift in time and jackson collided with the camera at full speed. >> i straight into my left arm, my head and my left shoulder. the next thing i remember i woke up three weeks later after being in a coma and then saw my family -- sorry. >> reporter: jackson was placed in a medically induced coma and her left arm was amputated. >> i was punctured with this bone here, the zygoma bone that was broken. the most severe injury at the time was my brachial arch was severed. i had loads of broken ribs,

broken humerus. both my forearm bones were broken, and actually a big piece of bone missing that they never found. >> reporter: jackson claims the movie's producers misled her allegedly saying their insurance would cover any onset injuries. but according to the lawsuit, the insurance covered only $33,000 of her medical expenses, a fraction of what jackson says the injury has cost. her lawyer says jackson faces up to $1 million of added medical costs. >> i've constant surgeries which i'm going to have for the rest of my life, so, yeah, it was obviously very hurtful when they stopped paying for everything. >> the producers have teonawsui not list the dollar amount being sought. the movie grossed $300 million worldwide. we're learning more about a home explosion near pittsburgh. police say the owner set off the blast on purpose on his daughter's wedding day. he was killed in the explosion and was home alone. police are calling this an apparent suicide. in new jersey 22 people were injured when the decks on this multifamily house collapsed.

scene tape. medics could be seen treating one person at the scene. we reached out for more information on what happened. in san jose, arson investigators are trying to figure out more about a fire that killed one person and injured four firefighters. the fire broke out around 5:30 last night. the flames raced through an adult book store and a liquor store. an eviction notice was posted on the book store's door. police had reports that someone was inside the book store and was armed. >> he was at least armed with a sledgehammer is the report we got. we moved slowly. the police were outside ready to come in to assist us. we never found anybody.
