different than the golden gate bridge. lots of accidents this morning. a possible shooting in santa clara county outside of san jose. deputies blocked off part of stewart avenue between rose and alum rock avenue with crime scene tape. medics could be seen treating one person at the scene. we reached out for more information on what happened. in san jose, arson investigators are trying to figure out more about a fire that killed one person and injured four firefighters. the fire broke out around 5:30 last night. the flames raced through an adult book store and a liquor store. an eviction notice was posted on the book store's door. police had reports that someone was inside the book store and was armed. >> he was at least armed with a sledgehammer is the report we got. we moved slowly. the police were outside ready to

come in to assist us. we never found anybody. >> i think he was having difficulties with a couple things. triing trying to shut down the business maybe. >> firefighters discovered a body in the basement. they believe that may have been the book store's owner. vallejo firefighters have a three alarm fire under control at an abandon building. the building was the commissary of the former naval shipyard. the interior is expected to burn for a few more hours because of structural issues. here's a quick update on weather and traffic. we start with mike. >> let's look at live doppler 7. you can see the view as it spins up there on mount st. helena. catching this wet weather as it comes in from the northwest before it invades most of our neighborhoods. it's in northern solano and napa counties.

down to street level, you can see santa rosa, piney road. airport boulevard. the airport and 101 getting wet. there is wet weather elsewhere around the bay. this is where the most organized and steady activity is going to be today. a few lightning strikes right to the east of redding. that's where the best chance of thunderstorms will be. if you're heading out, you may have noticed it's muggy out there. look at these temperatures in the low to upper 60s. but we're not going far this afternoon. even with increasing sunshine. the breezes will keep us in the mid 60s at the coast and friend. upper 60s to low 70s around the bay. lower 70s inland. frances? >> mike, we have a live shot of this big rig accident. this is the fremont area. a traffic alert has been issued northbound 680 before you make

your way towards vargas. we have a camera crew that just arrived at the scene. what we're looking at is traffic heading southbound right in front of us. it's northbound traffic that is completely blocked as you approach vargas. this is causing a big mess. there's a big rig involved in that crash. it will take a while for them to clean this up. it will be out there for a while. this is northbound 680 approaching vargas. you may want to take niles canyon road as an alternate. a traffic alert, sigalert has been issued. this accident on highway 24 could be in the westbound direction where all lanes were temporarily blocked because of an injury crash. traffic heavy approaching the scene. southbound 280 at 92, all lanes just reopened. an 11-year-old boy from tibtib eron has died aer a boating

accident. two kids were thrown off of a boat and into the water around 7:00 last night. they tried to rescue the kids, but somehow the boat hit the children. one of them died. the other was taken to the hospital but their condition is not known. oil prices jumped significantly after a major attack on an oil facility in saudi arabia. >> the u.s. is accusing iran of taking out the world's biggest processing plant. with half of oil production offline, prices are up 20% as markets reopen today. senior u.s. officials tell abc news they believe iran launched 20 drones and a dozen cruise missiles in that attack. >> just a few days ago the administration was talking about lifting sanctions and having discussions with the iranians. now we're as close to an armed conflict in the persian gulf as we have been in decades. >> president trump says he is waiting on word from saudi arabia on the next move and he warns that the u.s. is locked

and loaded to respond. iranian officials deny involvement in that attack. president trump is welcoming bahrain's crown prince to the white house today. the two are expected to discuss efforts to promote peace in the region and terrorism. bahrain plays a big role in middle east security. the country is home to the u.s. navy's fifth fleet, which is responsible for forces in the persian gulf, red sea, arabian sea and part of the indian ocean. this comes ahead of the president's visit to the bay area tomorrow. abc news learned the president will attend a fund-raising luncheon in palo alto. politico initially reported it would be held in atherton, but police there say he won't be there. activists are hoping to fly a giant trump balloon during the event. this will be president trump's first area to the bay area since he took office. he was last here in 2016 when he was running for the republican nomination. his appearance in burlingame

drew some protests. supreme court justice brett calf knew is fa kavanaugh is facing calls for impeachment after another allegation. a formeri iayale classmate told senators and the fbi that he saw kavanaugh do things in the '80s. her friend says she does not remember the incident. several democratic candidates voiced their opposition against kavanaugh. >> i strongly opposed him based on his views on the executive power which will continue to haunt our country as well as how he behaved, including the allegations that we are hearing more about. senator elizabeth warren tweeted like the man who appointed him, kavanaugh should be apeached. kavanaugh supporters say the times essay does not tell the

full story. president trump defended him on twitter saying he is an innocent man who was treated dr. christi . happening today the nfl is expected to meet with the woman accusing new england patriots receiver antonio brown of sexual assault and rape. a source confirmed the meeting to espn. britney taylor provided the league with information in advance of this meeting. the source is not expecting brown or his representatives to be there. taylor filed a lawsuit against him. he denies the allegations. brown made his debut yesterday with the patriots after his release from the raiders earlier this month. there's a new way to call for help in concord that does not involve making a call at all. the situations when it's best to text. a ballroom bombshell. one of the biggest names on dancing with the stars is out,

even before the competition begins. you're never more than seven minutes away from your accuweather forecast. this doesn't show it's rainy now in san francisco. i can tell you that it is. it is at least sprinkling. >> it is. and the thing you'll notice on the radar, the best rain is up in the north bay. but it's raining almost everywhere. the rain is so close to the ground that the radar is overshooting it. here's sfo. you can see it's clearly raining at sfo now. another look here. here is the san mateo bridge. you can see the drops on the lens. you can see the reflection of the headlights off the wet ground. it's definitely wet in most areas. the only place i have not seen rain announced is the bout bay now. you're going to get yours eventually. driving today, caution this morning. when it's wet, mass transit, you have wet stops this morning. and on the bay, it will be wet this morning.

but then quite breezy this afternoon and choppy. this will have an effect on our bridges, too. here's the peninsula. wet weather possible through 9:00. stuck in the 60s. clouds and sunshine in the low to mid 70s. for the south bay, pretty cloudy through 7:00. after that, you can expect some wet weather to come in and hang around through 1:00. we'll jump from the upper 60s to the mid 70s. east bay valleys, this is underdoing the rain. the rain will last through at least 11:00 in the east bay. the further east you are, the best chance we have of a thunderstorm also. there could be some heavier downpours through 11:00. they'll be the warmest in the upper 70s with a mix of clouds and sunshine this afternoon. it was a challenge getting into work this morning. trying to remember to slow down, get those windshield wipers

down the sierra. different areas have it until different 67 in yosemite with a chance of thunderstorms. same thing in tahoe. chance of thunderstorms from sacramento to chico to eureka. son's you get south, the system falls apart moving into big sur. never quite reaches southern californ california. heading to the sierra, 63 after a freezing morning friday. then warm breezes will bring us back to sunday. 70 by sunday. we'll look at more places that are raining here in the bay area. people in concord can now report emergencies to police by texting instead of calling 911. police say calling 911 is still the fastest way to report an emergency, texting can be an option for people who are voice or hearing impaired, but also help people who feel they will face more danger if they're hurt

twirl. >> you're never more than seven minutes away from your accuweather forecast. hi, mike. >> good opportunity also. hopefully she does well. let's look at what's going on. 4:46 to 4:47. i want to show the bay bridge toll plaza, it is wet here. we had some rain in oakland. so even though the radar is still showing the best radar returns along the cold front, which is now moving into the north bay, we have wet weather almost everywhere. even misty down in the santa clara valley. definitely the strait of hormuz mousanta cruz mountains are getting some rain. we will see an update of the coverage of wet weather from light rain to steady rain. yellows in there from 9:00 to noon. you can see those are the heavier showers that are rolling

will you. by noon, the south bay is getting most of the wet weather. with you will see increasing sunshine, increasing breezes, a chance of a shower pretty much gone. let's look at how much we could get out of this storm. anywhere from a couple hundredths of an inch to a little bit more than a tenth of an inch. pretty impressive there. high temperatures today will be in the mid 60s to upper 70s from the coast to our inland neighborhoods. lows tonight from the upper 40s to the upper 50s. we will stay below average through thursday with morning clouds and afternoon sunshine. summer trying to return for the weekend. frances? >> we have a couple new accidents. one is near sfo, westbound 380 just past 101. it's a jackknifed big rig. we have a traffic alert for a

big rig problem, northbound 608 from vargas. all lanes are blocked. northbound 680 is now closed along that stretch. take niles canyon road because they don't know when the lanes may be reopened. one estimate i'm hearing is not until 10:00 this morning. in the very same area, a new crash came in. southbound 680 at androtti. a three-car accident. it will be a mess on the roads this morning. it's no wonder i kept getting reports of eastbound and westbound 24, there's accidents on both sides of the freeway near wilder. traffic is heavy in the westbound direction making your way to the caldecott tunnel. here is interstate 80 through berkeley and emeryville. no problems here heading to the bay bridge. general motors employees across the country are on strike. they walked off the job at midnight after the union was

cams around walnut creek. we had some drizzle this morning. looking south towards 24, there is some drizzle to light rain on 24 heading through the east bay hills. also 580 through the dublin grade, you will run into some wet weather. that's not the bay bridge toll plaza, that's san jose, 87. look how wet 87 looks. look how the clouds are just collapsing on the city. even san jose, usually it's the driest, getting some wet weather this morning. gives you an idea how damp it is this morning with temperatues in the 60s.

dew points in the 60s. we'll have wet weather throughout the morning. again, when this cold front comes through, it will ramp up in intensity. you can look at the visibility out there. livermore, four miles. some mist and drizzle in the air. the royals are in town to take on the surging a's. wet weather will be gone, but it will be cool with partly cloudy conditions. 66 at 7:07 dropping down to 62. it will be breezy also. back to frances. a couple major problems. one is a major problem. a traffic alert issued for a full freeway closure with a jackknifed big rig on northbound 680 before vargas. all lanes have been blocked. we don't know when it will reopen. causing major delays. 84, niles canyon road an alternate for you. on the other side of the freeway, southbound 680, there's a three-car crash causing things to slow down. it's just a mess out there.

another jackknifed big rig reported in san bruno, westbound 380 past 101. two right lanes are blocked. emergency crews are heading there. two accidents on 24, the westbound traffic is jammed. this is a live shot of the north day, 101 in san rafael. be extra careful as you drive, we're dealing with slick roads and some fog in spots. a hot day in nashville got hotter for the titans. the titans used flame-throwing boxes to shoot fire into the air five minutes before kickoff against the colts yesterday. one of them tipped over and it set the turf on fire. the flames didn't put a stop to the show. the national anthem was sung, workers extinguished the flames and nobody was hurt. >> they were like let's move on. >> maybe they shouldn't use
