autumn chill in the air with temperatures in the mid to upper 50s by 7:00. a few low 50s in the north bay valleys. low 70s around 2:00, 3:00. 75 to 80, quick warming for the bay and inland areas by noon. those outdoor cafe tables will be going quickly. 81 to 88 at 4:00. everyone is comfortable at 7:00. let's find out about that commute. let's get an update from sue. >> headed back to the central valley and 580 westbound, we got a mass of slow traffic here. we had a couple of big wigs that got into it near grant line. traffic is slowing to under 5 miles per hour as you make that merge. we have then to add insult to injury, a new three or four-car accident. this one in livermore, westbound past isabel. fourth lane from the left or almost the slow lane.

that second lane from the slow lane. give yourself extra time. we had drive times of over two hours at one point this morning. that's improved to an hour and 15 minutes to get from tracy westbound 580 into dublin. new york city mayor bill deblasio is dropping out of the race foreve president. deblasio said it's clearly not my time, so i'm dropping out of the campaign. he's facing poor poll numbers back home in new york and national polls showed him with 1% of support if not less. happening around the world, the global launch of apple's iphone 11 and 11 pro. while you can preorder for delivery, for some fans it's tradition to stand in line and wait for it. >> amy hollyfield is live in

palo alto with more. >> reporter: here they are. the devoted fans who show up every year. they are camping out front of this store on university avenue. they were hoping to see tim cook here, who sometimes shows up on launch day here at this store, but we now have video proof that he will not be here. take a look. he just made an appearance in new york at the grand hoping of the 5th avenue store there. so, tim cook on the other side of the country this morning. that that store opening right now. it's 8:00. it should be opening speak. the phone is in release around the world already. we have video of people in australia and china getting their phones. lines forming around the world, even though it's not necessary. you do not have to wait in line for the iphone 11. you can order it online and have it delivered for you. you can go for in-store pick up but apple fans still do it.

charges against alameda and san leandro hospitals for failing to bargain in good faith. the protest at san ramon regional is a multi state protest calling on them to invest in nursing staff. a new jersey man is charged with helping the iranian backed group hezbollah. alexei saab looked for sites including the statue of liberty, the white house and times square. he had weapons training in lebanon and learned how to make explosives. he was arrested in july after being questioned by the fbi earlier this spring. happening today, an american airlines mechanic from tracy is expected to enter a plea in court in florida is accused of sabotaging a jet in miami. prosecutors say he disabled the plane's navigation system because he was upset over

stalled contract negotiations. the plane did not take off and no one was hurt. federal prosecutors have charged ed buck with providing meth to a man who overdosed and then died back in 2017. that man was the first of three people to overdose in buck's apartment. buck did enter a plea during yesterday's court hearing. just last week police arrested him for providing drugs to another man in west hollywood. in the east day, fremont police arrested trevor diggs on several charges including a hate crime. yesterday police were called to an assault at a store on fremont boulevard near black isle road. they say a man hit a woman with a rock. officers found the suspect nearby and when questioned he said the victim's ethnicity motivated the attack. he was taken to jail. building a better bay area means solving all types of problems including diversity in the tech industry.

richmond, 59. heading out in walnut cpleasant. we have a west wind, just 5 miles per hour across this golden shot of the golden gate. here comes the sun at our beaches. it will be tranquil, so peaceful out on the bay. warm sunshine if you're out and about. so here's a look at the east bay. you can see 58 at 7:00. 77 at 11:00. mid 60s for the better part of the afternoon hours. as far as the peninsula, we have 58 this morning. we'll be right around the mid 70s heading into the lunch hour. low 80s. the last stop is the south bay jumping from 57 to the low 80s. let's check the morning commuted 580 out of tracy. a couple of big rigs rear-ended each other, they are been moved out of the way, but speeds below 10 miles per hour on the 580

interchange. we have a new accident involving three or four cars, westbound 580 in livermore past isabel. that's another mile backup there. speeds less than 20 miles per hour there. so it all bunches up to a long commute already this friday morning for about an hour. at one point it was over two hours. so believe it or not this is an improvement westbound on 580. if you can take the ace train, they're running on time. highway 4 westbound into concord is looking good. no delays san rafael into san francisco. san francisco's city attorney is suing two online travel sites accusing them of illegal and deceptive practices. the lawsuit claims just fly and flight hub sell tickets with hidden baggage and seat asanemeasane me assignment fees. just fly and flight hub could not be reached for comment.

gunfire starteds go through and a bullet passed overhis head. he heard several gunshots but did not stick around to see where they came from. san jose police say multiple rounds were fired hitting the library and the garage across the street. it he had been a little further down, he believes he would have been hit. listen to what he experienced as soon as the gunfire started. >> i'm crawling over glass. i grab all my stuff. i low it in my bag and i just ran for the elevators. scary situation. an alert about the gunfire went out to the sjsu community but may neighbors say they had no idea what happened. thankfully noeb was hurt. and police do not know where the gunfire came from.

new details about another scare at san jose state. >> a 17-year-old student was arrested on campus after investigators discovered a violent threat on social media. officers began searching for the suspect and san jose state university police located him on the south campus. the student was carrying a loaded gun and had magazines with 31 rounds of ammunition. the teen was taken to juvenile hall and booked on several charges. happening today, planned protests around the world including in the bay area to bring attention to climate change. tens of thousands of students are expected to skip class today to participate in the marches. this is video of the protests in australia. today's global climate strike takes days before the united nations climate action summit in new york city. more young people are voicing their concern over global warming. president trump will hear a broad range of options on what to do about iran and its

the torrential rains are starting to subside. look what the remnants of tropical storm imelda did. all that flooding being blamed for two deaths. the governor had to declare disaster in 13 counties. the houston area received the bulk of the rain. up to 43 inches fall between winnie and beaumont to the east of houston the last three days. nearly a foot of rain a day. that's the seventh highest amount ever recorded. this never made it to hurricane status. this is the bigger factor with tropical storms, the fresh water flooding as they stall out. you can see that's starting to open up. the winds are not an issue. the fact it's moving at 14 miles per hour is. it's
