afternoon. we're looking at 70s by the delta. is morningt was 48 in fairfield, now it's 72. that's with that dry air. how quickly we warm. so we are cooler this morning by seven degrees on the coast. here is the warm-up, not as pronounced today, liz. >> sounds good, thanks, lisa. new this morning, two people are in the hospital after a fire broke out at a care home on massachusetts drive in san jose. the fire started just after 4:00 a.m. on the back porch, spread to the roof and into the home. seven people were inside at the time, two caregivers and five elderly patients with disabilities. two of the paushtients were tak to the hospital to be evaluated. the cause of the fire is being investigated. no one was seriously hurt. cal fire crews are watching six fires burning in the hills east of milpitas this morning. this morning the fire is 40%

contained, 188ed a ver ed acres burned. the cluster of fires has been burning since noon yesterday in an open grassy area. the spring valley fire chief notified cal fire after seeing several columns of smoke. no homes or buildings are threatened in neighbors are prepared to evacuated. >> there's concern for our homes and our >> firefighters are not ruling out the possibility of arson. pg&e is warning residents os possible outages affecting sono sonoma, napa, marin and lake counties. on friday residents got a notification with 100 hours notice, that's twice the normal

lead time. and new this morning,prtrump of h day iexas to meet the indian prime minister narendra modi. this is video of the president here leaving the white house just a few hours ago. he's expected to arrive in huston. five people are dead after widespread flooding along the texas gulf coast from what's left of tropical storm imelda. the deaths range in age from 19 to 52 years of age. four of the deaths are confirmed drownings in houston and beaumont areas of texas. many of those killed were trying to drive through floodwaters. in the east bay, a warning to residents to stay away from water in a popular park due to high levels of bacteria. abc 7 news reporter cornell bernard reports on the alert. >> it's pretty bad. >> reporter: berkeley's aquatic park is in bad shape.

>> we don't see any real traction in solving the mystery, cleaning up the problem and preventing it from happening again. >> reporter: a city spokesperson tells us it's possible rains earlier this week washed contaminants into aquatic park through storm drains. until bacteria levels drop considerably, this water is offlimits. in berkeley, cornell barnard, abc 7 news. oakland police are trying a new tactic to fight illegal sideshows. they're closing access on weekends. police identified seven indexes in east oakland including the area of 42nd avenue and interstate 880, a long time trouble spot for sideshows. police say the closures should not impact traffic. the department believes the closures are a preventive measure. an amber alert has been issued.

2-year-old john weir was last seen with his dad, 32-year-old steven weir in merced county. authorities said the father may be armed and dangerous and may be driving a hundryundai elantr. the invasion of area 51 this weekend may have fizzled just a bit. despite curious visitors and a few arrests, the organizer of the event decided to pull the plug after the initial facebook event went viral. our reporter is in nevada. >> reporter: still a steady stream of curious visitors at the gates of area 51. at the nearby alien research center in nevada, there were crowds but not anywhere near expectations. >> most people who came here expected so much more. >> reporter: they came from colorado to sell alien-themed

welcome back. a recent grand jury report has a dire warning for san francisco. the city's emergency water system may not be good enough to douse fires started by a catastrophic earthquake. according to "the examiner," the high pressure hydraulic system doesn't cover areas including the sunset, richmond, and bay view neighborhoods. there's plan to install 14 miles of new pipeline in 2020 and 2027 through bond measures, but it could take the city more than 35 years to install it. tourists can rejoice. it is the last day without cable car service in san francisco. tomorrow the city's iconic cable cars will be back on the tracks. niine.sfmtir out of service for

of september, we could see a huge change in our weather. we're talking maybe some mountain snow. we'll get to that in just a moment. right now, live doppler 7 picking up on the fog along the shoreline and further to the north. the rain in the pacific northwest, it's raining in crescent city. this system is enough to enhance our marine layer. you saw it from some of our live cameras, nice and sunny in san jose at the shark tank. 57, half moon bay. redwood city in the upper 50s. san jose and gilroy at 66. this is santa cruz. it was 89 there yesterday. low 80s today. you can see all the sunshine already. 58 santa rosa. it's in the mid-60s for you in napa. we were in the upper 40s earlier. 64 in livermore. fairfield at 72. you were 49 this morning. low clouds and fog across the golden gate bridge. today, compared to yesterday,

anywhere from two to 11 degrees cooler, the most pronounced cooling in the coast. on the peninsula, you had widespread mid- and upper 80s. how about upper 70s today for the higher elevations. certainly an about face today. and right now, truckee, 35 degrees. it is 45 at the thahoe valley airport, going for high of 70 today. cooler for everyone, autumn arrives tomorrow. high fire danger tuesday into wednesday. in the upper elevations, about a thousand feet, winds would be gusting to 40 miles per hour. starts tomorrow night and goes through wednesday. here are the highlighted areas, pretty much all over the north bay hills, east bay, santa cruz mountains. certainly a critical time for us as temperatures tomorrow begin to edge up into the 90s once again in our inland valleys. still pleasant across the bay and the coast. look at tuesday's highs, 99 in
