reservoir. the fire started around noon on saturday. they forced the closure of calaveras road. cal fire says rocks are rolling on to the road and it's not sure when it will reopen. that time of year, we're on the lookout. all right. it is 4:31 on this monday morning. let's get a quick update on the weather with mike. good morning. >> good morning. hi, everybody. let's talk about that fire danger. all the areas in red, spreading into the central valley. you can see just about everybody in the higher elevations above 1,000 feet in that red, so you have a heightened fire danger. winds will get quite gusty. right now, less than 10 miles per hour. there are some clouds rolling in on a slight sea breeze, that will quickly be reversed. look how we jump into the 80s at noon. 80s and 90s at 4:00. still in the 60s and 70s at the

coast. are at 7:00.isherellf u here is sue. >> heading to the san mateo bridge. good looking commute so far. you have a 14-minute drive from 880 over towards 101. that's your westbound 80 go bac. we have this fatal accident blocking the lawrence expressway off-ramp. they have put out flares. you cannot take that off-ramp. it will be under investigation most of the morning. so you want to take fair oaks or keep going towards great american parkway. we'll check back in a couple of minutes. >> thank you. at least one person died in a crash along highway 152 east of gilroy. a big rig and three other vehicles collided around 8:30 last night. highway patrol kept highway 152 closed in both directions until 1:00 this morning. working to fd out who was at fault in this crash along the two-lane

highway. a judge is expected to rule on an attempt to stop a homeless navigation center being built along the waterfront. the group argues the city failed to get approval and bypassed the state environmental quality act. it is being built on the embarcadero at beale street. lawyers say the center would do harm to drepresidents. they cite an attack on a woman at her condo which is right next to the center. the person of interest wanted in a shooting turned himself in. joseph vicencio is said to have shot at the mlk library thursday evening shattering windows on the top floors. students narrowly missed being hit by the gunfire.

a parking garage next door was also hit. there's no word on why vicencio may have done it. here's something you don't see every day. a camera captured a man jumping from roof to roof in the mission district. witnesses say he refused to get down for several hours while san francisco police negotiators spoke with him. abc7 news reporter luz pena has this story. >> reporter: holding onto the molding of the walls of this house after being caught jumping from one roof to the next for approximately four hours, this man had many in the mission neighborhood concerned. >> he seemed like he was -- that he had problems. no shoes, nothing. >> reporter: this man and his family had to evacuate their house, where the unidentified man broke a window and tri tgein one of the side windows while the police surrounded him. >> my wife was going to take a shower and that's when we found out he was already on the roofs, you know. so then my wife -- >> reporter: you could hear his steps? >> he was running all over the

tree houses from that house all the way to my house. >> reporter: from 7:10 a.m. until close to 11:00 a.m., officers and crisis negotiators tried to speak to the man who refused to get down. in this video, the man can be seen on a tree. chris said he was in that tree for about two hours. >> with bands around his wrist and ankle as if he had been -- previously in a hospital or an institution. >> reporter: after hours of negotiations, the man jumped down. was he asking for help? did you hear him say anything? >> no, the only thing he was asking for, water. >> reporter: we showed the last minutes of the ordeal to a retired san francisco police commander and usf professor. >> the big key is time and distance. that's really it. and options. you see, that's an option for him. they're not trying to grab him or anything. >> reporter: he says officers followed de-escalation protocol. >> the first responders there gave this person the space that he needed to get through this

crisis. >> reporter: san francisco police say the man was detained and admitted for medical evaluation. in san francisco, luz pena, abc7 news. >> those first responders handled that well. engineers are working to get union city's computer system working again. it was brought down by a virus this weekend. it's affecting essential services like licensing and permitting. emergency services from police and fire are not affected. union city says it will delay opening city hall until noon today so it can brief employees about the outage. officials say they are working with cybersecurity experts to restore its i.t. services. happening this morning, san francisco's cable cars will be back in action. th the city needed to fix their gearboxes which propel cable cars uphills. threyear $6 million in restoration project. it was just couple days ago we saw a vta train collide with

los gatos, 61. clouds are creeping across the golden gate. have not made it quite to the south bay, treasure island, you can see the cloud cover there. look for increasing clouds for the morning commute. it will be cool this morning but mild -- i should say hot this afternoon. on the bay, it will be calmer and hazy. here's a look at the east bay. we're in the 60s through 11:00. we quickly jump into the 70s. even an 80 is possible by 3:00. look at all this sunshine in the north bay. 55 this morning. but we're already 80 at noon. 90 for several hours this afternoon. for san francisco, we have the cloud cover that will quickly dissipate. by 10:00, mid 60s. we'll hang on the mid 70s as whed into twe head into the afternoon hours. talk more about the fire danger coming up. let's bring in sue. it's amazing we're seeing so much fog this morning considering how hot it will be and how the fire danger will

flip a switch later on. >> i had to use windshield wipers coming across the golden gate bridge. you would think that would help with the fire season. >> unfortunately no. >> we are starting off with a fatality. the lawrence expressway off-ramp from southbound 101 is shut down while they do this investigation. you cannot get through there. you can continue on and take bowers great american parkway to get back on to the lawrence if that's where you are going. you can exit before the lawrence expressway at fair oaks. we have a couple of other problems. this one just being cleared, north 880 at davis. for a time it had all lanes locked. traffic is getting by fine. new accident towards novato. northbound 101 near san antonio. car 15 feet off into a ditch. they may have fire crews that may need to block a lane. we'll check back in

let's look at the fire danger. look at that. almost the entire sacramento valley area and heading up into the foothills. not quite into lake tahoe. it's really close. just like ours, it starts today and goes through wednesday. same winds, same hot, dry air in those areas. near 90 in chico. 90 in sacramento. san diego and los angeles starting off with cloud cover and then sunshine, 76 to 83.

the santa clara county breaking the law. >> the time is 4:46. you're never more than seven minutes away from your accuweather forecast. here is mike. >> thank you. hi, everybody. let's look at sfo, increasing clouds this morning. it's 59 degrees. we likely have some delays until we start to clear out rapidly during the afternoon hours. starting off with increasing clouds, but then the winds will reverse. that will scour out the moisture and the clouds and bring us sunshine and warm temperatures. the winds will get too aggressive blowing offshore, that's why we have the high fire danger tonight and heading through wednesday morning. after that, a complete reversal. some areas could be 30 degrees cooler this weekend. we have low pressure to our east, high pressure to the west. the flow between them is an

offshore flow. it originates mainly over land. as it down slopes off the mountains, it compresses and dries and heats. that's why we're seeing temperatures jump in the mid to upper 80s. one of our cooler days until the weekend. this is in the south bay, 86 in san jose. 80 to 86 on the peninsula. look at this, 72 to 7 h4 along e coast. mid to upper 70s downtown, sausalito. upper 80s today. along the east bayshore, from 80 at richmond and oakland to 84 in fremont. heading into the valleys, upper 80s san ramon and pleasanton. everyone else the low 90s. tonight down in the lower elevations, temperatures in the mid 50s to 60s. at will increase the fire danger. look at those temperatures. even 80s at the coast wednesday. 90s around the bay.

100 inland. look at the 60s and 70s barely for highs by sunday. what a difference. sue? >> we will start off showing you some video of this fatal accident. it is southbound 101. the off-ramp to lawrence expressway in sunnyvale shut down. you can see the investigators on the scene there. you cannot take the lawrence expressway off-ramp. you will have to continue on to bowers great american parkway and work your way back to the laurence expressway. no estimated time of opening. again, a deadly crash. you'll see the flares, if you're traveling southbound 101, you cannot get off at the lawrence expressway. looking at this accident, it is southbound 101. that's the one we were just talking about. we have an accident in novato. that one is northbound 101 at san antonio. it is blocking the emergency crews, maybe the right lane. the accident is about 15 feet off the roadway. we will continue on with this

of major repairs after a truck plowed into it. you can see in these photos, the car went through the garage door and straight through into the living room. it happened saturday night in brentwo brentwood. two kids were playing video games in the living room when this happened. the driver said the car was having a mechanical issue. in the east bay, a celebration of women in yesterday. the event honored women in the industry. guests checked out vintage aircraft, toured the federal aviation administration air control tower and kgo's sky 7 chopper was on display. one of san francisco's most influential people is celebrating a milestone. a crowd celebrated cecil williams 90th birthday at glide church in the tenderloin. he and his wife co-founded glide back in 1986 when he first
