berryessa. in sonoma county, 71 # 1 customers near sosa long porter creek road will be affected. >> abc7 news reporter kate larson is live in santa rosa with details. kate. >> reporter: well, ama, larry, we are on mark west springs road and just about five miles up the road towards calistoga is where pg&e will begin their planned power shut off. but there are businesses all over sonoma county who are paying for the power shut off even though the lights are still on. >> you can feel right now how cold that is. >> reporter: robert morris is the co-owner and general manager of custom crush in windsor where cooling is key. >> we're looking at millions of dollars worth of inventory that really cannot get warm. >> reporter: he and the rest of the wine country are in the middle of harvest. they need pg&e and their power to keep their wine and grapes cool so the threat of large-scale power shut offs is no small inconvenience.

>> as a business owner, i really don't like being in this situation because it causes me a lot of anxiety. >> reporter: it also costs him a lot of money. >> this is what it boils down to, united rentals and generator and we're ready for the power shutdown. >> reporter: money spent, whether the power goes out or not. morris is also a reserve firefighter in healdsburg. he worked 96 hours straight fighting the 2017 wine country fires and says we need to prevent those type of fires at all costs. >> as a firefighter, yeah, i don't want to see fires started from downed power lines, you know. so it's probably a good preventive measure. it's just a very unfortunate set of circumstances. >> reporter: and those circumstances are shared by so many here in the north bay. i actually spoke to the genetocal contrwho s he said before pg&e had their planned public safety power shut t five generators by this

time of year. but this year, now that we have the possibility of all of these power shut offs, he says that he has rented out 35 generators, which is seven times his usual number. in santa rosa, i'm kate larson, abc7 news. back to you. >> and the area where kate is standing is going to be one of those spots where the fire danger is going to be the highest. so let me show you what they are going to see. basically the areas shaded in yellows, oranges, will be high to very high likelihood of fire danger there in the north bay. red flag warnings for the north bay hills, east bay hills until 11:00 a.m. tomorrow. northeasterly winds, north, northeasterly winds gusting to 30 miles an hour. low humidity combine for the fire danger. heat advisory goes up 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. tomorrow. shaded in orange, risk of heat illness will be running high as we are expecting another warm to hot day. i'll be back with those temperatures coming up. >> all right, sandhya, see you

mona kosar abdi has more. >> reporter: a stunning return after nancy pelosi after resifrting for months, the top democrat finally made her move. >> i'm announcing the house of representatives is moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry. >> reporter: the shift comes as president trump authorized the transcript of his controversial phone conversation with ukraine's president to be released. a call many speculate is part of a still undisclosed whistleblower complaint. >> tropical storm' reallyit's rr country. i feel sad about it. >> reporter: the president admitting days before the conversation he asked the ukraine leader to investigate political rival joe biden and his son. he withheld military dollars from ukraine. he said first he withheld the money because he wanted ukraine to address corruption. a day later he said it was for a different reason. >> i want other countries to put up money. i think it's unfair we put up the money. people call me, i say let it go,

but we paid the money. >> reporter: pelosi calling it a violation of the constitution demanding the white house also release the secret whistleblower complaint. trump and others are calling it a political ploy. >> if she does that, they all say that's a positive for me from the election. you can also say who needs it? it's bad for the country. >> reporter: also new tonight, the entire u.s. senate has passed a nonbinding resolution calling for the president to release the secret whistleblower complaint to congressional intelligence committees. mona kosar abdi, nbc news, washington. >> she thinks speaker pelosi will regret it. >> as republicans, republicans certainly look back on their impeachment effort of belinelli regretfully. it ended up hurting us badly in the next election. i think democrats may wish they had not gone down this path. >> now that an impeachment inquiry is underway, what's next? here's abc7 news anchor dion lim with a look at what it actually

takes to remove a u.s. president from office. >> reporter: impeachment is a three-step process. starting with what house speaker pelosi did today, announcing the opening of a formal investigation. she has asked six house committees to figure out if there are grounds for impeachment. now, from there, everything is on the table. here is usf law professor bill. >> the whole mueller investigation, anything else, an impeachment inquiry is not limited to one particular topic. >> reporter: from there here's what will happen. the committees have to decide if there are grounds. if there are and if there is evidence of wrongdoing, it then goes to the full house. if there is a vote to impeach, then it goes to the senate for a trial. the likely judge will be chief justice john roberts. if two-thirds of the senate vote to convict, the president is removed from office. now, remember, congress has never successfully impeached a sitting president. there have only been two impeachment trials in u.s. history. president andrew johnson and belinelli. both were acquitted.

this attack of a realtor has led to increased efforts to keep real estate agents safe. >> that's scary. the same man is accused of groping other realtors. agents at the victim's office watched the video and attended self-defense class. they will work in pairs more often. >> happening now, the city of mountain view is debating how to build a better bay area. they made a major decision regarding rvs and trailers parked on city streets. abc7 news reporter amanda del castillo live with the details. amanda? >> reporter: larry, by next summer, those living in rvs or trailers parked on narrow mountain view streets will have to move along. we're talking about streets that measure 40 feet wide or less. mostly residential. that controversial decision came down less than an hour ago. hundreds of mountain view families have found shelter in these oversized vehicles. rvs and trailers the city says are impacting safety along narrow, mostly residential roads. >> this has been three years in the making. it's not that we woke up and said, you know, let's talk about

safe parking and rv parking. >> reporter: a continuing conversation that hasn't become any less contentious. >> 24/7. >> reporter: in a 4-3 vote, council decided to restrict oversized vehicles from parking on narrow streets. changes go into effect on june 30th, 2020. the city will also restrict those vehicles from parking on any street with a designated bike lane. many argue these rules would disrupt lives. >> most of these people will still want to stay in their communities with their family and their friends and their home and their schools. >> reporter: one man living in his rv asked not to be identified. he's new to the streets but has spent 16 years in the mountain view apartment. his long-time girlfriend died in february and he was unable to cover rent on his own. >> i tried my best, but i couldn't find a solution than this. >> reporter: the ordinance considered an all-hours ban in some areas and allow sanctioned parking in certain areas. and that provided by the city shows rv residents could park in industrial or commercial areas.
