minutes right now. westbound 4 antioch to concord, still green at 15 minutes. >> thank you. breaking news, a wildfire is burning in vallejo on maher island. >> here's what we know. this fire broke out about two hours ago. that's when firefighters got reports of smoke in that area. right now about 20 firefighters are on the scene. it broke out at the south end of mare island, a former u.s. navy base used for other purposes now. we'll keep you updated as we get more information about this fire. happening right now, nearly 50,000 pg&e customers across northern california are waking up without power because of the high fire danger. >> the latest round of shutoffs happened this morning around 2:30. check out the map. pg&e decided against large shutdowns because of improving

weather conditions, but at 4:30, 708 customers lost power near calistoga, napa and the northern end of lake berryessa. and 700 customers are affected in santa rosa. >> there will be cooling centers open again today because of hot temperatures. yesterday business owners and residents waited to find out from pg&e to see if they would be affected by the possible power shutoff. a power generator company has seen a 200% increase in business in the last two years since the north bay wildfires and especially this week. residents have been planning how to deal with emergency shutoffs for months. >> you know, if you haven't planned, you're a little late in the game honestly. you don't just plug in a generator. >> other residents topped off fuel tanks and bought what they needed for three possible days without electricity. safari west in santa rosa is

california public health officer are telling consumers to stop vaping immediately until an investigation as to why so many people are being hospitalized is finished. we've learned some new information from juul as well this morning. juul labs announced the company is suspending all broadcast, print and digital product advertising in the united states. and also refraining from lobbying the administration on draft guidance and committed to fully support and comply with the final policy when effective. the last few months hundreds of people have been hospitalized across the country with serious lung conditions that are suspected to be linked to vaping. the "los angeles times" says in california there have been two deaths due to the illnesses as well as 90 people who have been hospitalized according to health officials as of friday there have been 530 cases of lung injury nationwide as well as seven deaths. massachusetts' governor called on a four-month ban of all

products in the state yesterday. and santa clara county approved a ban on the sale of e-cigarettes to anyone under the age of 21. you can see the signage here, back out here live, it does say you have to be 21 years old to enter the building. also another note here in santa clara county, there was a survey taken recently where 3 out of -- or excuse me, 1 out of 3 teens say they tried vaping. that's here in santa clara county. reporting live, jobina fortson, abc 7 news. >> thank you for that update. developing news out of washington now this morning where the trump administration is set to release a transcript of the president's call with the president of ukraine. that call took place in july is at the center of an impeachment inquiry announced yesterday by nancy pelosi. president trump acknowledged he asked ukraine's president to investigate joe biden and his son, hunter before that call president trump froze nearly 0 $400 million in aid to ukraine. he denies it had anything do

with his call to investigate the bidens. now that an preechlt impeac inquiry is under way, now the question is what are the next steps? >> reporter: impeachment is a three-step process starting with what house speaker nancy pelosi did starting with an opening of a formal investigation. there are six committees trying to figure out if there are grounds for impeachment. now, from there, everything is on the table. here is usf law professor bill. >> the whole mueller investigation, anything else, an impeachment inquiry is not limited to one particular topic. >> reporter: from there here's what will happen. the committees have to decide if there are grounds. if there are and if there is evidence of wrongdoing, it then goes to the full house. if there is a vote to impeach, then it goes to the senate for a trial. the likely judge will be chief justice john roberts. if two-thirds of the senate vote to convict, the president is removed from office. now, remember, congress has

calistoga. we're at a dark arco gas station. these are our lights that are lighting this place up. you can kind of get a sense of the lights being off here. you can tell that the pump is not working. this station is closed. it's dark here. let me show you a map of all the areas impacted by this power outage. pg&e has turned the power off to 708 customers near calistoga and napa in the northern end of lake berryessa. in sonoma county, 711 customers near santa rosa along porter creek road lost power for the next few hours. businesses in the wine country have been getting ready for this. some have rented huge generators to keep their businesses going because of the threat of these power outages. these generators are expensive. tens of thousands of dollars to rent, because the possibility of losing inventory like grapes at

new developments in mountain view, the city council voted to restrict where people can park rvs and trailers along many streets. dozens rallied on a ban before rv parking before last night's council meeting. the council voted 4-3 to ban oversized vehicle parking on narrow streets. many homeless advocates believe the new law will disrupt lives. >> most of these people will want to stay in the communities with their families and friends and homes and schools. >> we're trying to balance their concerns and needs with the needs of residents, other people who live in mountain view. >> reporter: mountain view's new raw takes effect june 30, 2020. it applies to mainly residential streets. rv parking will be allowed in many commercial and residential areas. the b.a.r.t. extension into san jose could be delayed longer than anticipated. it may be delayed until 2029 or

afternoon hours. we have that high fire danger through the sacramento valley into the foothills. that goes through the evening hours. critical fire conditions like the north day is automobiling with. temperatures near 100 in the central valley. mid to upper80s monger ray to los angeles. we have showers for the sierra this weekend dropping our temperatures from the 70s to the 40s. in the east bay, fire crews are not taking chances with the high fire danger in the oakland hills. two extra engines have been patrolling the hills nonstop looking for signs of fish. there fire. >> as you may know from our history in oakland with the oakland hills fire and lately over the last few years with some of these fires, we're always kind of behind trying to catch up when the fires start, our plan today having extra team out, extra apparatus out, we'll be able to get a jump on hopefully anything that might start off a fire. >> the oakland fire department

wants to get residents to sign up for ac alerts on their phones, they want people to call in if they could see anything that could spark a fire. happening today, julian castro is visiting the bay area. he will visit the fruitvale b.a.r.t. station in oakland and meet with residents at 11:30 this morning. that's where oscar grant was shot and killed in 2009 by a b.a.r.t. police officer. after that he will tour a homeless encampment. he released a housing platform to end homelessnesses by 2028 nationwide. the u.s. coast guard will be conducting an active shooter drill on yerba buena island. shots will be heard in the area from 9:00 to 10:00 this morning. the coast guard will be using blanks during the exercise. the purpose of the dreill is to provide realistic training so they can safely respond in the event of an active shooter scenario.
