mid-40s. san francisco gorgeous this morning. 48 by the delta. upper elevation win ads are breezy. the chillier morning will continue into your morning. there's a look at the see rather where they saw some snow. we may see a thunderstorm, i'll have the details on the cool second half of your weekend and start to the workweek, coming up. more than 45,000 pg&e customers are without power right now in the east bay. take a look, this is the utility's outage map. 25,000 customers in berkeley, 19,000 in el cerrito and 3,500 in richmond are affected. b.a.r.t. says the outage has closed the berkeley station. b.a.r.t. just tweeted they have a generator in place to provide power to the station in berkeley so they will be opening it up shortly. right now there is a 20-minute delay in both directions on the richmond line. passengers can get in and out through the north berkeley or

ashley stations. it is unclear at this point what caused this major outage. we'll keep you posted as we learn more. meantime, developing news. san mateo police are investigating a shooting that involves officers who injured two suspects. police say they were patrolling the parking lot of the hillsdale shopping center when they spotted a car they believed was stolen. the driver and second suspect led officers on a chase and threw credit cards out of the car along south camino real. the suspects hit another car and ended up in a cul-de-sac. officers got out of their car and approached them. that is when the suspects drove their car toward officers and one officer opened fire, injuring them. detectives are trying to answer many questions in their investigation. >> why are they throwing credit cards out of the car? what is up with the vehicle in question? they're checking the v.i.n. number, they're checking the license plates. our investigation bureau will be working around the clock on this to find out what exactly was

village premium outlets. when officers arrived they found a man inside a car who had been shot. they tried to save him but were unsuccessf unsuccessful. police say investigators believe the man did not die by suicide a suspect has not been identified. in the north bay a fire in sonoma county is under control after forcing evacuations. flames sparked yesterday at 3:00 p.m. near shellville. it ripped through an event center that also has some residents. abc 7 news reporter lisa amin gulezian has more. >> this is where i used to live. now i'm looking for a new home. >> reporter: marc foley spoke out of fear as he watched the fast moving across the garden pavilion event center. his house was spared. >> a good quarter of the property or more is gone.

welcome back. happening today, a huge crowd is expected for an event that can best be classified as only in san francisco. the 36th annual fulsome street fair, billed as the world's biggest leather festival, it's expected to draw 250,000 people and features vendor booths and live music. it runs from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. around 100d up by hairstylis prom night at this pediatric prom. last night's event gave patients who were in and out of the hospital this year a chance to experience their own prom night. some of them missed their prom

maybe a thunderstorm as well, in the upper elevations. it's getting to that time of year when that cool, unstable air mixes down and we've got te warmer sun out there. it is still just september, so that atmosphere is trying to equalize and we get some strong storms now and again, especially in the valley. as we look at live doppler 7, there is some energy, some rain up here. you can see the clouds offshore. we'll see both of that with the clouds increasing late in the day and the possibility of a few showers. check out this, isn't this gorgeous? tahoe got some snow and the possibility of more on the way, two to four inches. winter weather advisory through 5:00 tomorrow. never too early for snow in the mountains. 54 in san francisco, mid-50s san jose. half moon bay, nice recovery at 57. with the breezy upper elevation winds, some of those those winds out of the north eating, a big jump in novato, numbers are recovering through the upper 5s.

a little hazy here from mt. tam, low 50 noise santa rosa. 55 by the delta. if you're headed out to mt. tam or mt. diablo, keep in mind it will still be breezy out there with winds up to 20 miles an hour. at the surface, much calmer. you can see the whitecaps at san francisco, ocean beach. we're clear and chilly this morning. the possibility of a shower or isolated thunderstorm mainly in the north bay today. looking at warmer days throughout the middle of the week. here's sfo. we should be looking at highs in the 70s and 80s this time of year. we're we will below average with highs forecasted from the low 60s to 70 today. that keeps us 13 degrees below arch. concord, nine degrees where you should be in san jose. and eight degrees cooler on the peninsula. by the end of the week, we'll make up the difference. as we go through the afternoon, notice that the clouds, some of those we call them stratocumulus

random thunderstorm. move you will just see a partly cloudy skies late in the day. another cool day before we switch things up for october, liz. instanci thanks, lisa. new details about the san francisco controversy involving large sidewalk boulders installed by residents who say they're fed up by rampant drug dealing in their neighborhood. this is a live look at clinton park alley between dolores and valencia. you can see several gigantic boulders are back on the street again. yesterday city public work crews rolled the boulders on the sidewalk after someone rolled them onto the street on friday. 24 boulders in total have been set up on the sidewalks by neighbors legally. here they are again, now rolled off the sidewalks. the neighbors, though, say it's meant to discourage drug dealers from congregating in front of their homes. some people have criticized this saying it's antihomeless.

in richmond are affected. b.a.r.t. says the outage has closed the berkeley station. we are joined now on the phone by b.a.r.t.'s spokesman, chris philippi, thanks for joining us on this sunday morning. what do folks need to know about the b.a.r.t. trains right now? >> good morning, thanks for helping us get the word out. our downtown berkeley station is closed due to this pg&e outage. on sundays, we open revenue service at 8:00 a.m. at that point the downtown station was enable to be openun. we've been without it for our sunday morning service today. we don't have an estimate yet as far as when the station will be reopened. we are in the process of connecting and activating a backup generator that should allow us to do that sometime soon. for the time being we're telling folks to use the ashby or north berkeley station as alternatives. we're seeing some delays in the area of about 20 minutes on the richmond line. this is also connected with that

power outage. so our bottom line for folks is that if they're in the berkeley area and want to ride b.a.r.t., they can do that, just stay away from downtown berkeley. use ashby or north berkeley as alternatives. >> any sense of when that generator might be up and running, and how long does that often take? how long will it take for service to get back to normal? >> at this point it's unclear when the station will be reopened. we do have a process under way that should allow us to do that. we're hopeful it will be sometime soon. i've not been given a firm estimate at this point. again, we just want to make sure folks understand that. north berkeley and ashby are the best alternatives. our partners at ac transit are providing mutual aid in the berkeley area. if you have a clipper card that you use for b.a.r.t. or a b.a.r.t. ticket, it will be honored by ac transit for their

as we get into your sunday morning, recovering nicely. some of our temperatures, we were really cool this morning. with all the sun, most of you in the 50s. a few increasing clouds throughout the afternoon. that could lead to showers and a random thunderstorm in the north bay. still cool into that final day of september. right now, 58 in oakland. 59 on the peninsula with numbers in the low 50s in napa. you had 30s there also a couple of mid-30s readings up in sonoma county and up towards sonoma, lake county, even napa, there's where you could see a shower, maybe even a thunderstorm, maybe even sliding down into marin county. our exploratorium camera, it looks pretty calm out there. we are looking at some unstable air that continues to push into the bay area as we get towards the afternoon. so we've got the cooler air right here, you can kind of see

the speckling of the clouds. the moisture continues to slide down. we have snow in the sierra, we're not done with that. we're ripe in the next 24 hours for maybe a little bit of precip. we saw it friday morning, remember it was soggy out there. we're dry and sunny, then we get the cumulus clouds, the lift from those clouds moving up the side of the higher elevations. we could see a few renegade showers on there. we take this into sunday and monday, notice it's not just the north bay. could see maybe 5/100ths. the most we could see could be a tenth or so, i think that's overdone in calistoga, but who knows? sierra nevada had some snow, two to four inches still to come. it's been a few inches in parts donner. looking at the 40s for high today, cool in the mountains.

at home, 68 vallejo, 70 in concord. if you're doing some hiking or biking, higher elevations are looking at winds over 20 miles per hour. tonight, a few clouds, temperatures in the 40s for much of the north 50s elsewhere. could even see numbers drop into the 30s. accuweather seven-day forecast, coolest day and coolest morning arrive tomorrow. highs today in the low 70s. as we get into october, that's when things really begin to turn around and get a little bit back towards average. tuesday, eh, not so much, still on the cool side. wednesday we're mild, near 80 inland. mid-70s around the bay. that looks like the way it's going to stay. we're not looking at anything extreme into next weekend. >> yesterday i started taking out my winter hats and my scarves. maybe i need to stash them away little longer. >> maybe tonight. instanci thanks, lisa. next, how the giants want fans to say thank you to bruce bochy today.

welcome back. let's get back to our breaking news. we're following more than 45,000 pg&e customers without power right now in the east bay. this is the utilities outage map. 25,000 customers in berkeley. 19,000 in el cerrito. and 3,500 in richmond are affected right now. b.a.r.t. says the outage has closed the berkeley station. they say they now have a generator they're working to get

in place to provide power to the station in berkeley so they will be opening it up soon. the exact time, though, is not known. right now there is also a 20-minute delay in both directions on the richmond line. passengers can still get in and out through the north berkeley or ashby stations. b.a.r.t. told us they are updating this on their twitter feed which is twitter.com twitter.com, @sfbart. there are recommendations for people trying to use these trains of alternative routes. we're told pg&e and hoping to have the power restored by 11:00 a.m., so in about an hour from now. still no word, though, what caused these power outages. we'll keep you posted online as we learn more. meantime, today is bruce bochy's last game as the giants' manager. the team wants to create the loudest foghorn blast the bay area has ever heard.
