minutes with an update. >> a kansas city man accused of intentionally settin a string of fires in the south bay was reportedly here for his high school union. >> freddie gham will be making his first appearance in court this morning. jobina fortson is live in san jose with the other information we're learning. >> good morning. molice say freddie was in to gwnha froram missouri for hi school's 50th reunion when he set those fire his classmates are stunned and say that graham appeared to be . crews were battling those plames that burned 128 acres in total. our "mercury news" reports that gram told investigators that he was in an emotional state over his wife's death. records show she died in 2018. the couple had plans to drive together onroad. graham set a paper bag and napkins from a fast food restaurant on fire once he got

right. >> the woman drove up to 90 children that daresigned. the school district said it has implemented a new safety procedure to better screen bus drivers. authorities in north carolina have caught three out of the four inmates who escaped from an ohio jail. the sheriff said the inmates are dangerous. they overpowered two corrections officers with a makeshift knife. the inmates had a getaway car waiting for them near the jail. three of the inmates are caught and they're still looking for the fourth. happening today in san francisco, org nooanizers of th international aids contest will host a preview of the event. they will sig a spotlight on stories of resilience that shaped the hiv response. the conference will be held in july in san francisco and oakland. there was some wild weather near davis over the weekend. the national weather service

into the weekend we warm up for some nice october weather. good morning, sue. >> good morning, lisa. good morning, everyone. back to the bay bridge in a second. a look at the san mateo bridge, it's misty out there. you have about a 15-minute drive from the toll plaza over towards 101. now the bay bridge toll plaza, sengritehtig l 5:15. a couple of stalls, an earlier accident has things stacked up back to the macarthur maze. you're looking at a 14-minute delay from the back of the line. once you're past the toll plaza, sluggish on the upper deck. we had a car hit a deer, this is west 37 just before highway 101. they're trying to clear that. and reports of a sofa in lanes, southbound 680 near 242 in concord. be careful there. that could result in real dangerous conditions if somebody slammed into that couch. there's a look at drive times, westbound 580 continues to be sluggish. highway 4 looking good. 101 in the city looking good at this hour.

look at this massive store in walnut creek. this forever 21 is huge. if it closes it would leave a large, empty corner space at the broadway plaza shopping plaza. experts are pointing to the size of their stores as one reason why they're facing financial problems. there's also a huge store in san francisco. the "new york times" square store is four stories and has 151 fitting rooms. large stores are hard to fill with customers, with shoppers turning to online shopping. clothing rentals are also hurting traditional retail stores. forever 21 filed a motion to shut down 178 of its more than 800 stores. they're still trying to figure out which stores to close. officials with the store say it will depend on conversation with landlords. forever 21 started in los angeles in 1984. it's not alone in the struggle for customers. since 2017 more than 20 u.s. retailers have filed for bankruptcy as shoppers skip the mall and decide to shop online.

warren, joe biden are leading nationally. california is following that trend. she will be able to make a break through in california through .he doewa. >> tho iowa caucuses are in february. a battle over sidewalk space in a san francisco neighborhood has taken another turn. abc 7 news was in clinton park allay where several boulders are back on the street again. on saturday city crews rolled the boulders back on the sidewalk after someone moved them on to the street friday. 24 boulders have been set up legally on the sidewalk by neighbors. they say it's meant to discourage drug dealers from gathering in front of their homes. some people criticized the boulders saying they are anti-homeless. pg&e claims equipment failure for two separate outages that knocked out power to 58,000 customers. the first happened around 7,000 yesterday morning in the east bay. 35,000 homes and businesses in
