coast. >> at the san mateo bridge, traffic is starting to slow across the bridge. solid across the span, across the causewa and up the incline section of san mateo. give yourself about 20 minutes between 880 and 101. else where, a look at our traffic maps, slowing, not anything out of the ordinary over the altamont pass. reports of a stall blocking a couple of lanes, this is southbound 880 near winton. an accident reported at 98th on 880. we'll check that when we come back. thank you. a kansas city man accused of intentionally setting a string of fires in the south bay was reportedly here for his high school reunion. >> freddie graham will make his first court appearance this morning. jobina fortson is live in san jose with the other new information we're learning.

>> good morning. freddie graham is facing four counts of arson. police say that freddie graham was in town from missouri for his high school's 50th reunion when he set those fires. our partner at the "mercury news" reports that graham told investigators that he was in an emotional state over his wife's death. records show she died in 2018. the couple had plans to drive together on calaveras road. that leads to the reservoir where those fires were set. the report goes on to explain that graham told investigators that he lit a paper bag and napkins from a fast food restaurant and set them on fire. a witness snapped a photo of graham near the fire scene, about 24 hours later cal fire personnel also spotted him there. graham was able to take off from the scene and head to his class reunion, but law enforcement caught up with him at the san jose airport before he was able to rush out of town back to missouri.

>> lawyers for the whistle-blower say negotiations over that person's testimony are ongoing. the hillsborough heiress murder case resumes today. tiffany li and kaveh bayat are accused ofky of killing keith green, the father of li's two children. they say li went out of her way to pick up a rent check the night green went missing from a man who rented an apartment from her. text messages show at one point she gave him the option to drop off the check the following day. a woman convicted of drunk driving while live streaming the crash that killed her younger sister has been released on parole. abdulia sanchez was convicted of manslaughter, dui and child endangerment. she served 26 months in prison. she was released on good behavior. sanchez was 18 when she crashed her family car on a road. the collision killed her 14-year-old sister jacqueline.

the crash gained national attention because sanchez had been live streaming on instagram while driving and at one point took her hands off the steering wheel. a school brus drius driver washington state is accused of drunk driving was caught on camera in washington state. >> oh, my gosh, she's crazy! >> no! no! >> that 48-year-old school bus driver is facing dui and reckless endangerment charges. police say one of the panicked kids called 911 after getting off the bus. he told the dispatcher that the bus driver sped through three red lights. >> she's wobbling and her eyes, you could tell she was drunk. >> did she smell of alcohol? >> her breath sort of smells like alcohol. >> this is going to be a dui. >> is it? >> i was hoping the kid wasn't right. >> the woman drove up to 90 children that day. she's since resigned. the school district said it has implemented a new safety

procedure to better screen bus drivers. authorities in north carolina have caught three out of the four inmates who escaped from an ohio jail. the sheriff in galea county, ohio said the inmates are dangerous. they overpowered two corrections officers with a makeshift knife. the inmates had a getaway car waiting for them near the jail. three of the inmates are caught and they're still looking for the fourth. golden gate transit riders could be in for another rough week. last week more than 100 bus rides were canceled. there was a labor dispute between drivers and officials. the district says some drivers have not been showing up for work. contract talks have been going on for more than a year. happening today in san francisco, organizers of the international aids conference will host a preview of the event. they will sign a spotlight on stories of resilience that shaped the hiv response.

welcome back. check out this video. an explosion on an oil tanker in south korea sent a huge ball of fire shooting into the air on saturday. the mushroom cloud captured on a cash cam from a bridge above the tanker. 18 people were hurt in this. the fire spread to a second ship before crews were able to get this under control. another horse has died at santa anita park in california. a 3-year-old colt named emtech was euthanized after the horse broke two legs. 32 horses have died at santa anita since december. animal rights activists are calling for the park to be shut down and demanding new safety protocols. giants fans said good-bye and thank you to bruce bochy.

chains required on i-80 this morning as the snow continues in the sierra nevada. temperatures just in the 40s. right now hovering around freezing. breezy along the coast. showers to the north of us. milder and sunnier in southern california. a united airlines flight had to turn around shortly after departing denver because of this. part of the engine cover appeared to partially come off.

abc news reports it happened this morning at baledogle airfield outside of mogadishu. a suicide bomber apparently set off explosives at the gate of the base and bursts of gunfire followed. the terrorist group al shabaab has taken responsibility for the attacks. a u.s. official tells abc news there are no american casualties. we're continuing to follow this story. we'll bring you the latest informations a soon as we get it. developing news this morning, hundreds of forever 21 stores are set to close because the company's filed for bankruptcy. forever 21 officials however say they are not going out of business. amy hollyfield is joining us live with more details about lo. look how huge this store is in walnut creek. imagine if this closes, it will leave a large, empty space here at the broadway plaza shopping center. there's also a large store in san francisco's union square. that's one thing the chain is

she will be able to make a break through in california through iowa. if she does well in iowa. >> those iowa caucuses are in february. ttlesidewalkpace in a san francisco neighborhood has taken another turn. abc 7 news was in clinton park alley between delores and valencia streets where several boulders are back on the street again. on saturday city crews rolled the boulders back on the sidewalk after someone moved them on to the street friday. 24 boulders have been set up legally on the sidewalk by neighbors. they say it's meant to discourage drug dealers from gathering in front of their homes. some people criticized the boulders saying they are anti-homeless. pg&e blames equipment failure for two separate outages that knocked out power to 58,000 customers. the first happened around 7,000 yesterday morning in the east bay. 35,000 homes and businesses in berkeley, albany, richmond, kensington, oakland and san pablo were in the dark. b.a.r.t. brought in a generator

on surveillance. this 22-year-old was holding a meat cleaver in one hand and had a female victim by the neck with the other. she grabbed the other woman after entering the lobby. police heard the commotion, rushed in with handguns and tasers. they were able to stun the woman and arrest her. >> i do believe that the quick response of our officers helped in de-escalating and getting the suspect under control and eliminating the threat as soon as possible. >> the victim wasn't hurt and we still don't know why the woman did what she did. she faces kidnapping, assault and other charges. she has posted bail. developing news in hong kong, police fired tear gas at protesters and arrested nearly 150 people just one day before china marks 70 years of communist rule. hong kong authorities rejected an appeal for a march on tomorrow's holiday, but protests are still planned for various locations. protests have been happening since june aimed at a bill that would have allowed the
