hearing kids and got creative and added hearing aids and cochlear implants to the dolls. her students were surprised and doripo ire took a bad turn for a sunnyvale public safety officer, his wife and friends. a car crash cut their vacation short, but that is not where this story ends. on their way home the officer jumped into action to save a life. abc 7 news reporter amanda del castillo has their story. >> reporter: officer stephen cronin has made it very clear he was just doing his job. but saving someone's life 30,000 feet in the air is no small task. that's why people are now taking to social media to thank him. a 12-day bucket trip list to ireland was just getting started for stephen cronin, his wife and friends. they were involved in a serious accident. >> we were in rural northern ireland and involved in a

traffic collision over there. we were t-boned by another car going about 60 miles an hour. >> reporter: cronin's wife suffered a fraud pelvis. they hopped on a ten-hour flight back home. but the action didn't stop there. >> i heard a loud thud. >> reporter: that was followed by pleas from medical personnel. cronin found a woman who had fallen and bumped her head. >> reporter: she was pale white, sweating, and she was laying in a pool of blood. >> reporter: six hours into the flight cronin and two others used what was available. a special needs teacher from ireland traveling to attend a wedding. >> we stayed with her for the full 3 1/2 hours. we landed with her laying in the middle of the aisle. >> reporter: sunnyvale dps posted the story to facebook. though he isn't asking for recognition. after nearly 13 years with the

juul was the major financial backer of this campaign. it had already donated $19 million to the effort. the measure bans the sale of e-cigarettes and vaping products. prop c would have allowed adults to buy the products. 14 deaths have been linked to vaping and now have been reported. hundreds of people have issues connected to vaping. a statement saying, quote, i am committed to seeing that juul engages productively with all stakeholders, including regulators, policymakers, and our customers. but the anti-prop c team is not letting down their guard. saying, quote, prop c can't be withdrawn from the ballot at this point. and there would be nothing to stop another big tobacco giant from coming in to spend millions

the oil tanker was crossing the bridge. it fell into the water below. rescuers fear some people may be still trapped. ten people have been taken to hospitals. the skies had cleared before the bridge collapsed. in the east bay attorneys want a judge to lower bail for the man facing retrial in the ghost ship fire case. derick almena is still in jail on $750,000 bail. a judge declared a mistrial after a jury deadlocked on the involuntary manslaughter charges against him last month. the judge will consider dates on a potential new trial and a motion to reduce almena's bail. they acquitted max harris for the deadly 2016 oakland fire that killed 36 people. we have an update to those

good tuesday morning. temperatures are cool. sunrise 7:05. one of the warmer locations today in our east bay valleys, livermore a high of d-s. not until the end of the week we see temperatures climb mid-80s to near 90s. get ready for that. a couple issues coming into play this morning for the commute. sue? we do have a couple issues, exactly. looking at an accident southbound 880 near mission boulevard. a couple lanes blocked there. you can see traffic is now backing up as well. over to the peninsula southbound 101 near whipple. we have three lanes blocked now. a car got into an accident and then one of the cars got into a flame situation. it's on fire. we have fire there and blocking three lanes of traffic along with chp. avoid that if you can.
