beloved wife and mother of two is dead. victim of a hit and run. >> crossing the street at 22nd with her young niece when they were both hit. >> live from oakland police headquarters. you have the latest. >> they were both in the crosswalk. she picked up her niece from preschool walking home when they were hit. >> she came here for seeking a better life for me. and my brother. and the family. she was a stay at home mom. every day she would be there. >> at 11:20 a.m. everything changed when a hit and run driver killed her as she crossed. with her 4 year-old niece. ellie was hurt. but the girl suffered injuries to her head and stomach. the family is devastated.
