b.a.r.t. riders from everything as to why is the trains so dirty? why are the prices going up? today you have the opportunity to take your complaints to the top to b.a.r.t.'s new general manager. he kicks off his listening tour today. so here's what you need to know. bart powers is b.a.r.t.'s new general manager. he will start the listening tour at the lake merrick station at 8:00 a.m. he will be on the platform talking with riders as they wait for trains. a pop-up banner will be displayed at the fair gates with powers' picture on it so people know who to look out for on the platform. he also plans to visit early morning, late night and week night riders, so this is not a one day venture. today kicks off a series of visits throughout the month. we've been talking with riders about their issues with b.a.r.t. here's what several people say they would like to ask. >> why are the trains so dirty? >> it smells bad when i walk in

call between president trump and ukraine's president. >> this comes as the state department's inspector general is expected to give an urgent briefing to staffers. it has do with documents related to the state department and ukraine. tomorrow closed door depositions from two former u.s. officials who represented the trump administration and ukraine are set to take place. on twitter, president trump called the impeachment inquiry a coop. happening today more than 12,000 seiu workers will go on strike. there's no indication how long the strike will last. the union represents hospital janitors, social workers, clerical staff and employees in parks, law enforcement and libraries. county officials tell us they've been preparing for a strike for several weeks and will fill essential positions in essential services and county hospitals and jails. this morning the santa cruz county sheriff's office is

looking for multiple suspects in the death of a kidnapped bay area tech executive. tushar atre disappeared early yesterday from his house in pleasure point. a body was found later. amanda has more. >> dozens of surfers and visitors taking in the view. this is the usual scene at pleasure point. but on tuesday, serenity was replaced by sheriffs deputies. news of the early morning abduction of tech executive tushar atre shook the neighborhood. the sheriff's office says someone inside this home called 911 to report a home invasion and kidnapping. 50-year-old atre was last seen leaving the area at 3:00 a.m., believed to have been forced into a white bmw suv belonging to his girlfriend. the suv was found miles away hours later. investigators also found a body.

the sheriff's office has not released an identity. atre's friend took to facebook pleading for help. >> we need to find our find. >> back at pleasure point, some residents feel the crime was far from random. many of his neighbors describe questionable activity. the sheriff's office is not confirming the validity of those claims. one resident agreed to speak with us but asked not to be identified. >> santa cruz is notorious for different things going on, you know, people with money sometimes get sucked into interesting situations. >> the sheriff's office believe there's are multiple suspects involved. they do not believe the public is in any danger. in the east bay, a beloved wife and mother of two is dead, a victim of a hit and run in

oakland. huong truong was crossing the street with her 4-year-old niece, ellie, when they both got hit yesterday morning. the young girl suffered injuries to her head and stomach. oakland police released few details. they are scouring the neighborhood looking for leads. her family is devastated. >> she came over here for -- seeking a better life for me and my brother and the family. she was a stay-at-home mom. she cared about us. she every day would be there. >> she had just picked up her niece from preschool and were walking home when they were hit. a san francisco supervisor is reportedly exploring taking some police officers away from the airport and replacing them with sheriff's deputies. according to the examiner, supervisor norman ye asked the controller's office to examine how much this might cost.

the president of the san francisco police officer's association said replacing the oficers could cost the city more money, and since the city needs a permanent solution to recruit and retain enough police officer. a legal fight is in full swing over ownership of the land where the oakland coliseum sits. oakland owns 50% share of the land. the city claims it should get first dibs on the county's share uner state law. oakland city leaders want to build low to moderate income housing on the site. >> the a's are not thinking about lawsuits this morning. they are preparing for a do or die match-up against the rays. the coliseum is expected to bei

good wednesday morning. 4:43. some cold spots, 30s in napa. 53 in the city. 49 in san jose. grab the jacket, out the door. later on today, beautiful. a lot of sunshine, topping out in the 70s and 80s the next three days. tomorrow morning, a marine layer starting our day. morning clouds, cooler in the afternoon, 70s. by friday, temperatures on the rise, 70s back to the 80s. warmer weather headed for the weekend. we'll preview that in the seven-day forecast coming up. here's that story about the lady at the bronx zoo who was -- i don't even know. they watch this woman as she was clipping over a safety barrier and into a lion exhibit.

the resolution also called for city agencies to limit relationships with companies that do business with the nra. but in a new them mo mmemo said the resolution is not binding. the dead line to get a real i.d. is just a year away. a lot of drivers are still struggling to meet the requirements. the department of homeland security says 27% of americans have been issued a real i.d. a lot of people don't understand the purpose of the newal from f i.d. that is supposed to be more secure. >> they already have my i.d., my social security number. i don't know that we need to take it to another level. >> i think it's a pain in the butt. >> a real i.d. is a federally compliant identification card, so you can use it to pass through airport security. our old california driver's license don't meet the new standards, so to get a real i.d. you have to go to the dmv in person. the earliest appointments in the bay area are towards the end of

noon topping outso lows. kumasi? >> all right. authorities in santa cruz are looking for bold thieves. check out this wild security video of an atm theft. an suv is smashing through the front of a walgreens in scotts valley on monday. the suspects were in and out of the store in less than a minute. the suv was left at the scene. they're not sure what type of getaway vehicle was used to take that atm away, but it is still missing. the warriors will play their first preseason game on saturday against the lakers at chase center. yesterday the team opened training camp and held their first practice of the season. they practiced for 2 1/2 hours as a bunch of new faces joined what's left of a squad that went to five straight nba finals. with the first preseason gamedays away, the new players have to learn the defensive principles and rotations. >> i think it's necessary. you have a few older guys, a lot
