for tuesday's massive fire. anser, investigators were finally allowed inside tonight. >> reporter: that's right. they were handed back control of the facility. no longer a threat of fire, new star teams will go in, vent tanks and begin cleanup as county officials continue their investigation into tuesday's fire. >> taking measurements all day long to assess any kind of threat from vapor, from the various sources in the facility. >> reporter: result? zero indication of threat of another explosion for fire at nustar facility. now has the green light to take over the cleanup effort. >> they have their own fire suppression capabilities sufficient to handle anything o. >> reporter: nustar teams will capture runoff.

couldn't be drained due to threat of fire. all day were blasted with foam to prevent flare-ups from yesterday's fire. tuesday afternoon, two tanks that ethanolxploded sending a massive fireball into the air. shelter in place and evacuation orders were issued for surrounding cities. >> we were in danger, didn't argue with the evacuation order. >> reporter: michael kellogg continues with renovation at his house this afternoon. they live a block away from nustar, watched the fire race up the hill behind their home. >> it's incredible it didn't spread to more tanks. they got vegetation fire under control quickly. could have been a lot worse than it was. >> reporter: in email to abc7 news nustar says they build to meet for exceed requirements
