with more. karina, good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you, kenneth and kaylee. the president says his allies should be more supportive in standing up for him and his administration. and he's calling out one republican in particular. president trump is demanding republicans fall in line. >> they have to get tougher and fight because the democrats are trying to hurt the republican party before the election. callg his party tore ried like hidemo >> i think they're lousy politicians. but two things they have, they're vicious, and they stick together. they don't have mitt romney in their midst. >> reporter: romney ha >> holding up funds to a foreign nation particularly one that's under military threat in ord to fulfill a political purpose is a real problem. >> reporter: during an interview with fox news overnight trump condemned the investigation calling it unfair but admitted -- >> everybody tells me it's going to be great for us as a republican party if they actually impeach me. i don't know if that's true or not.

>> reporter: as the president continues to condemn what he calls a phony investigation on capitol hill, testimony continues. today william taylor, the top u.s. diplomat in ukraine, will testify behind closed doors. he raised the alarm about the possibility trump may have withheld aid for political gain. in a text message to the u.s. ambassador to the eu, taylor wrote, quote, i think it's crazy to withhold security assistance for help with a political campaign. trump is shrugging it off. >> they're interviewing ambassadors who i have never heard of. i don't know who these people are. >> reporter: now, key supporters including senator lindsey graham say they'll stick with the president. congressman adam schiff, a leader in the impeachment inquiry, tweeted, the gopacked the courage to confront the most dangerous and unethical president in american history. kenneth. >> all right, karina mitchell, thank you. facebook says it's taking action to stop the spread of

disinformation leading up to the 2020 presidential election. the company says it's taken down four sites that originated in russia and iran. it says the disinformation campaigns were aimed at sowing political discord and racial tension. in some cases the fake accounts posed as real users to praise president trump and attack former vice president joe biden. canadian prime minister justin trudeau appears likely to win a second term after a campaign filled with controversy. trudeau's liberal party won the most seats in parliament in monday's election, but they lost their majority leaving him in a weaker position. trudeau survived a government corruption case and a blackface scandal leading up to the election. now to that growing wildfire threat in california. about 200 homes had to be evacuated in pacific palisades which is an area known for some of the most expensive houses in southern california and now new video shows another fire damaging homes as the state braces for more possible blackouts. >> so that's san manuel fire 241 knocking this down right here saving this home. that's what i'm talking about.

>> reporter: this morning a fierce firefight in california. a new wildfire quickly spread in san bernardino damaging at least nine homes. >> i can tell you they are fighting this fire on the ground and from the air with a pair of helicopters. we just saw a water drop. >> reporter: the rescue was broadcasting as firefighters d flames at o o cheer this out. >> reporter: five people were injured in that fire including a firefighter. overnight authorities lifted evacuation orders in the pacific palisades area of los anges and i just came back and my house is now covered in phos-check. but the fire department has been amazing. >> reporter: residents watched in horror as the flames crept closer to their homes, some with hoses in hand until they had to run for it. this time lapsed video shows what the skyline looked like, smoke billowing into the air and this morning there's word the state's largest power company is considering more planned outages for later this week in parts of 16 bay area counties to prevent fires from being ignited by

electrical equipment during heavy winds. a preemptive blackout earlier this month affected more than 700,000 customers and prompted harsh criticism from local officials and the governor. and the power company says a final decision on a second round of outages will be made by tomorrow morning. and thousands of people are still without power after three tornadoes tore through north texas. a total of nine twisters touched down across the south since sunday night.s oan the dage in dallas was especially severe with many homes and businesses destroyed. two schools in the city are complete losses and a third suffered major destruction. other schools will be closed because of the nearby damage. meanwhile, we got this image overnight. an expectant mother made it to her birthing center in a dallas suburb, but she had her baby in the laundry room during the storm. candles provided the light and thankfully everyone is doing well. breaking news overnight, a young marine has been killed during a training exercise in california. the 21-year-old was based at

camp pendleton. he was participating in mountain combat training in the sierra nevada at the time of the fatal vehicle accident sunday. the military is not providing more details. also on sunday three soldiers were killed at fort stewart, georgia, when their armored vehicle like this one rolled off a bridge into the water. time now for a look at your weather for this tuesday morning. good morning. a powerful cold front continuing to push toward the east coast. that means storms from southeast georgia to d.c. which could have some damaging wind gusts especially as we head toward the afternoon. we'll have some rain into new england as well. however, not expected to be severe. breezy winds from the great lakes back to the northern plains. could have gusts up to 40 miles per hour. it's going to be breezy once again across parts of southern california. the dry, warm weather leading to another day with a fire threat. i'm accuweather meteorologist adam del rosso.

charges. meanwhile, actress lori loughlin and her husband are maintaining their innocence. the university of southern california now confirms the couple's two daughters are no longer enrolled at that school. drivers not happy with prices at the pump should be watching this next story. california's governor is asking the state attorney general to investigate why gas prices are so high. the governor cited a new report suggesting big oil companies are overcharging customers by as much as $1 per gallon in some areas claiming higher quality gas. but california's energy commission says it could not find any difference in quality across the state. an industry trade group says it's reviewing the report. all right, from gas to morning commutes, which are getting longer across the country each year, and one study predicts the number of cars on the road will double by 2040. the traffic app waze is now organizing carpools to make commutes faster and less expensive. it will ask users to input where they live, where they work

we're back with a terrifying crash in georgia. a driver survived this collision with a logging truck. the logs came crashing through his windshield all the way to the back of the suv. but the driver escaped with only minor injuries. just incredible video there. we turn now to the mother under arrest accused of killing her daughter after claiming the little girl was terminally ill. naonal attention when she met with denver police and firefighters checking off an item on her bucket list before she died. but now investigators say she was never sick. that her mother made it all up. >> oh, my gosh. >> reporter: she was the little girl who captured colorado's hearts with her smile. >> momma, let me clap for you. >> okay. >> reporter: and broke it when she passed away. 7-year-old olivia gant died in 2017 after fighting what was thought to be a terminal incurable disease. >> she's in intestinal failure. and we don't know how much longer she has. >> reporter: months before her death the city of denver rallied behind her making olivia

firefighter for a day and the make-a-wish foundation organized a bat princess day. >> we made a bucket list and one of her things was to become a firefighter. >> so here's my bucket list. >> reporter: but now olivia's mother kelly turner has been arrested for murder. investigators say olivia was not terminally ill and that turner also claimed her other daughter had cancer though she did not. according to the new indictment, there are no records to prove many of turner's medical claims for either of her daughters. before her arrest the jefferson county department of human services expressed concern that turner may have been benefiting from this attention and motivated some of the medical treatment and that turner had a financial and social motivation. a gofundme account for olivia generated more than $22,000 and the make-a-wish foundation and professional miracles foundation also donated thousands of dollars. the arrest affidavit shows several doctors told turner that olivia's condition was not terminal and doctors pushed back when turner withdrew olivia from treatment.

one doctor even said he was shocked when he heard that turner withdrew all medical care and olivia passed away. the indictment does not describe what actually caused olivia's death. her mother is now facing 13 charges from first degree murder to charitable fraud. a big medical headline this morning, what's beinggenetiase t ges the lungs. a s approv combination of drugs that could treat 90% of people living with the disease. it's the first approved treatment for patients over 12 years old. doctors say patients who participated in trials showed significant improvements in lung function. one doctor says, quote, it's not a cure but it's the closest thing we have. a baby born who was 15 weeks early is finally back home this morning. little kallie bender spent nearly five months in a phoenix hospital. when she was born in may she weighed less than one pound, shorter than a barbie doll. but now her mother says she's growing stronger every day. >> each though she's going home

hardships, but this is the new reality as they try to prevent fires. bay area health officials are worried about patients who rely on electricity to power their medical equipment. >> so i think the piece that is missing here is we're not looking at the overall health impacts of shutting off the power. >> reporter: if holds, final notifications would begin wednesday morning. then the power would be shut off at 5:00 p.m. on wednesday for parts of the sierra foothills, napa and sonoma counties. then as the wind moves south power would get shut off for parts of san mateo county starting thursday at 2:00 a.m. pg&e also now saying their website is ready to deal with heavy traffic. they think it will be fine for people who want to go and check their address in this possible outage. they do not think it will crash like it did during the last
