times. 59 in the city. our fire danger index goes down today, and then it will go back up midday tomorrow. sue? >> all right. we'll take a looktsorurony morn. richmond-san rafael bridge is wide open. the lights are on on the richmond side, on the marin side we have power outages throughout most of the county there. all smart trains canceled today. signals are not functioning. they say it's not safe to run those trains. we have modified golden gate bus and shuttles for the southbound and northbound direction due to some of those folks that are ey he rn andbuses that can't get by, but a lot of those folks cannot get into the city from the north bay. westbound 37, the ramp to southbound 101, first reports of an accident there. traffic seems to be getting by without delay. >> thanks. it is 4:31.

if you're just joining us, we want to get you caught up on the latest update from the kincade fire. >> at last check it's burning more than 54,000 acres in sonoma county since starting last wednesday. it dropped10%his weekend. cal fire says 94 structures are destroyed. we are not sure how many of those are homes. 80,000 structures are in danger right now. two firefighters were hurt yesterday. two of them had burn injuries. one of them serious. about 185,000 people are being forced to leave their homes. the largest evacuation order in sonoma county history. >> cornell bernard is live in sonoma county where fire crews are trying to keep this wildfire from moving further south. cornell? >> good morning. i have to tell you the ash is in the air. the smoke is thick and the danger has not passed here. but this is the latest scene of

the firefight of the monster kincade fire battle. we are on shilo ridge road. firefighters have been doing battle all night. there are lots of smoldering trees and brush. so much charred earth.e fm movi sonoma coevacuation happening. . deputies going door to door telling people to leave and leave now. it was a dire situation. as far as cal fire can tell, they say this fire was stopped here on the shop of shiloh ridge

road. that's good news for residents. the danger has not passed because the kincade fire is slowly moving to the south. as soon as the sun comes up, we'll have a better idea where the fire is as air attack also resume again. the other concern was highway 101 and all of the property, all of sonoma county to the west of highway 101. that was th big firefight yesterday. there was hundreds of firefighters staged along 101 cutting vegetation, standing by with houses in case burning embers carried some of the remnants of the fire from the kincade fire over the freeway. that did not happen. so there was good news there. there's non pple ur back to hom. live in sonoma county, cornell bernard, abc7 news. back to you. >> thank you. many people have left their

homes in calistoga after the kincade fire began moving towards their community. one man says he is much better prepared to evacuate than he was when wildfires threatened calistoga two years ago. >> we just have go bags now. we have things for our animals. we don't have kids, we have animals, they're our kids. we have their meds and all our meds, we have all our documents. >> i have never seen anything like this branchlthis. branc branchs all over the road. things are all over the place. >> downtown calistoga appeared to be largely empty with few people. the coffee park neighborhood was ordered evacuated as the kincade fire grew. the area looks like a ghost town. everyone appears to be done. you probably remember this is the same area destroyed in the tubbs fire in 2017.

this area is still being rebuilt. a lot of houses here are still under construction. our other breaking news story is the pg&e power shutoffs. there could be a third round of outages this week. >> the utility is warning of a strong wind event tomorrow into wednesday. that means much of the bay area will have the power stay off until then. lauren martinez is following this story. we'll get to her shortly as we move on here, we've been lucky to see that people are -- we actually, i'm hearing, that we do have will reeve live for us. will, can you tell us where you are and what you're seeing this morning? >> well, this was the soda rock winery on route 128 in healdsburg in the hills here where the kincade fire started.

as you can see, not much left. overnight the report was 94 structures were destroyed. that number likely to increase as hundreds of thousands of people are displaced by this fire. we spent the day in this area, we watched a house completely burn to the ground which was tragic to see and heartening to see elsewhere, as we embedded with firefighters the structure protection that they were doing to make sure this fire, which is growing, 55,000 acres is the latest report overnight. containment drops from 10% to 5%. these firefighters are protecting structures up in the hills and down the hill closer to more incorporated and populated areas. we spent the afternoon with firefighters in windsor. embers were blowing in, coming in to attics and landing in backyards and sending up flames.

these firefighters quickly put out these fires to make sure damage did not spread, that an entire subdivision didn't go up in flames. they're working so hard around-the-clock. so many firefighters, thousands of firefighters from around the state and as far away as nevada are here to help out as this fire continues to burn and as the run rises we will learn more about where it's been and where it's headed. >> thank you, lisa has been monitoring the are we out of the clear? >> we're not out of the clear. we have a wind advisory that remains in effect through 11:00. that coincides with the red flag warning. the upper elevations, northeast winds 20 to 30 miles per hour wth gusts to 45 miles per hour. looking at the current wind gusts, this correlates with mount tam out of the northeast, 21 miles per hour. look at that, straight wind from

mount diablo at 43 miles per hour. and oakland hills at about 25 miles per hour. knoxville creek, nearly 40 miles per hour. at the surface things seem more calm. direction is still out of the northeast. so throughout the next several hours, follow the colors. you can see the double digits here with the wind profile anywhere from 10 to 15 miles per hour. still breezy, but certainly not as windy. we're not gaining any moisture in our atmosphere. it's still bone dry. it continues to come down, out oth ds a to noit the red flag warning, perhaps gusts to near 50. here's a look at the smoke forecast. they're out of the northeast. that means they're pushing the smoke to the southeast mainly. when we have a straigh nth wind, you will g eas valleys. it will be variable. that's why we have our spare the

amy? it looks like we're having issues hearing amy. we will get back to her. a live look at this. this is more breaking news right now out of southern california. this is a brand-new fire that is threatening homes on a hillside aongside a los angeles freeway. this is a live look at it now near 401. this is by the getty center the. this is the west side of los angeles between santa monica and the brentwood ucla area. people are evacuating including mount st. mary's university and apparently lebron james. the chp says all off-ramps around the fire have been shut down. it's unclear how the fire started. southern california is bracing for the return of santa ana wins as it remains under a red flag warning today and moving forward. vallejo is under a state of

emergency after a brush fire. vallejo firefighters spent the night on the scene of this fire. it's almost 100% contained. the fire raced up ast 80 being by intense winds. residents grabbed garden hoses in an effort to save their homes. embers jumped the in the south bay, four homes were damaged by a fire in the area of marylinn drive in milpitas. if you can see the plume of smoke in this video, the fire was reported about 3:00. the fire department says wind was a major factor in this fire. no one was hurt. now for the most part smoke from the kincade fire has not impacted the rest of the bay area like the blazes did two years ago. >> this image from a noaa

mount tam. mount diablo at 43. up in hawkeye, several thousand feet up to 40 miles per hour. at the surface, it's calm outside. we have a spare the air alert for hazy conditions, for patchy smoke in the north bay. winds will still be out of the north-northeast today shifting that smoke from the north to the south and east. and we'll have a lot of smoke up in our area where we do have the fires. so be advised of that. a break later today before we u. gusting winds are re winds causing other problems. this is in martinez. part of a tree fell on to a group of people at a farmer's market. seven people to the hospital. at least two of them had serious injuries. witnesses say strong winds blew through downto martinez before that tree went down. the farmers market and a trick or treat event attracted a lot of kids and adults dressed up.

four people had minor injuries after an old tree fell over in san francisco and damaged a house. >> the four injured workers were painting a fence when the wind toppled the tree yesterday morning. firefighters had to cut through branches to free one of the workers who was protected from serious injuries because of the crushed fence. residents say they had petitioned the city to remove the tree but weren't able do it because the city declared it a heritage tree. >> they do not want us to remove this tree because the tree has been here longer than the house has been here. our home was built in 1922. the tree has been here longer than that. >> one of the workers was treated for a leg injury and another for cuts to his face. these san francisco fihaws t hoses. abc7 news was on guerrero as a large pepper tree was cut up that crushed a car. a driver going by had to slam od

damage. it's crazy to think of the impact of those winds. we're focused on the fire abut t can impact so many other things. and you know how dry the air is. you're probably feeling it out there. it's been consistently out of the north-northeast for the past several days. it will lighten up. wind gusts this morning in the upper elevations up to 45 miles per hour. here is our surface winds for the rest of the day. it's breezy, up to 17 miles per hour in san francisco and thro afternoon hours, things lighten up. we still have high fire danger and red flag warning through 11:00. looking at the gusty winds up to 45 miles per hour from mount diablo int here's your smoke forecast, concentrated in the north. as you were saying, as they move out of the north and northeast they're shifting to the south, the smoke and the southeast. so some of those wins are
