enjoying that. we'll talk about if there's any changes in our seven-day outlook coming. sorrow, heart ache and remembering the good times, the loved ones of five killed in orinda are sharing theirries, c airbnb vow to make changes. the five people range from 19 to 29. these are their names provided by the contra costa sheriff's office. at least three others were injured at this party. video here posted on social media thursday night shows the home packed with people. the home had been rented out using the platform airbnb but the owners have told amanda del castillo -- media it was for a party. officers saw hundreds people running from the house. the associated press reports two guns were found at the scene. and the family of omar taylor jr. who was killed at the orinda party is speaking out to

abc 7 news. relatives are stunned by the violence. they say omar was there for one reason to entertain partygoers with music. abc 7 news reporter cornell barnard sat down with the family. >> to get that phone call was devastating. >> reporter: laneisha epps never imagined the news would be so tragic. her stepson omar taylor jr., shot and killed at a halloween party in orinda. >> i personally feel like it is -- with such a careless act, it's such a traumatic experience that the family is taking on right now. >> reporter: taylor was there to deejay the party. >> music and deejaying and stuff that was his happiness. he had been in those type of environments and whatever before. i don't think he was going in thinking it was trouble or anything. >> reporter: amare taylor says his brother worked all the time as a deejay. the halloween party where about 100 people gathered another job to help support his young daughter. >> he was a good man, and if he was here right now, he would t

still vivid in many neighbors' minds. >> i don't feel safe knowing that someone could actually do this in our neighborhood. >> reporter: five people in their 20s lost their lives and police have not made any arrests. >> to be honest with you, i don't go out at night for the last few nights. i'm kind of scared. whoever did this, are they still around? >> reporter: we sat down with the mayor of orinda. >> did the city of orinda know of any previous parties that had taken place in that house? >> at this particular house my understanding is from our city manager and from our planning department that there was a complaint about parties earlier this year in february. >> reporter: the city provided records that say the owners of 114 lucille way registered their home as a short-term rental almost a year ago on november 21st, 2018. three months later the first complaint of a large party was registered. everything was resolved according to the mayor and then an e-mail was sent by a neighbor

cal fire says it's 74% contained. there is no change in the amount of acreage burned. it stands at more than 77,000 acres. 175 homes have been destroyed . mountain mike's pizza and redwood credit union in santa rosa gave out free pizza to evacuees and first responders all part of giving back to a community that's really been through so much. abc 7 news reporter lisa ameen ga lee shan has more. >> you're here because you've been evacuated, have no power, no gas, you're here for some kind of reason and everybody is welcome. >> reporter: support is coming in the form of pizza at mountain mike's on cleveland avenue in santa rosa the doors are open and the pizza is free to those who have been through a lot these past few days. >> we are giving free lunch buffet for the evacuees and fire department because they did a lot for us, and we want to give back to them. >> reporter: 10 out of 13 mountain mike's locations in the

north bay were closed because of the kincade fire. this location alone was evacuated for three days. >> we were out within 40 minutes when they came to the door. >> reporter: first responders saved mary and her family. >> i loaded my mom, my daughter, our three dogs and two cats all in my vehicle and drove. >> reporter: they all sit together breaking bread. >> it's nice to see everyone happy and smiling and glad they're back in their homes and that makes us feel special. it makes us feel like we've done our job right. >> reporter: it hasn't been easy for first responders. this private contracting firefighting crew has been in sonoma county for eight days. >> sleeping in our tents, getting dirty every day trying to make sure the town feels safe. >> reporter: getting this recognition is meaningful. >> we appreciate it, people showing us gratitude makes us feel good. >> reporter: in santa rosa, lisa amin gulezian, abc 7 news. >> there are ways to help people

outstanding felony warrant. about ten acres of land burned and nobody was hurt. a fire burned at a homeless encampment in oakland on high street. the city calls the camp a fire hazard. there was another fire there last week that burned two rvs and some wooden structures. the city is planning to close the encampment by the end of the year. the recreational dungeness crab season is open but it may be a while before you see any local crab for sale at the store. the california department of fish and wildlife says crab finishing south of the mendocino sonoma county line poses a risk to whales that can get tangled up in crab fishing gear. officials say they are delaying the opening of the commercial season from november 15th to november 23rd. the department warns there could be additional delays due to home health risks or poor crab quality. popeye's chicken sandwich is making a return and the chain

says they will be ready. bloomberg reports the chain is hiring more staff to deal with the rush that they expect. you may remember the original debut was so popular that popeye's sold out. people rushed to get their hands on one, setting off the social media war. one person even tried selling a sandwich for $7,000 on ebay. crazy. maybe fast food isn't your thing or you're vegan, we have another option you might be interested in by a bay area company. vegan delivery company atlas monroe makes plant-based fried chicken sandwiches. ceo deborah torres was in studio last week on abc 7 news at 4:00. and tells us she was inspired after adopting a healthier lifestyle because of her dad. >> my father was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. my whole family and i we went on a raw vegan and organic diet for 90 days. >> that sounds stuff. we got hang gri and we started like going to work in the

so much fun. this is dia de los muertos day of the dead, an ancient celebration that began in central mexico but reinvented in san francisco's mission district over the weekend. a day to remember loved ones who passed away but live on in memory and last night people walked through the mission holding candles. many painted their faces with a ghostly white makeup. so much fun and obviously that was made even more popular by cocoa the disney movie and a check now of the weather with lisa. a little chilly yesterday, wasn't it? >> it was certainly to get started but, you know, by the afternoon, temperatures from 5 to 10 degrees above average. 70s in san francisco and 70s along the coast. here's a look at our air quality. good along the south central bay but from today, tomorrow into tuesday we are looking at moderate air quality. it's not a spare the air alert but an advisory if you're in the far north bay.

haziy conditions from time to time. we are starting out with the clear sky and temperatures in to pleasanton and san ramon. closer to the bay, san carlos 53, san francisco 54 with numbers in the 40s in san jose, 38 in napa, and santa rosa. so if we go up in height above 1,000 feet, relative humidity still really dry out there so even no we're getting a weak sea breeze throughout the afternoon, looking at about 17% relative humidity around mt. diablo. atlas peek, above half moon bay 22%. the 10% core dough za ridge, we're not going to get any big changes until we see some rain come in here and unfortunately it doesn't look like that's going to happen as we look at our forecast highlights, clear and cold this morning with mild and sunny days throughout the week. that's bringing us above average but the dry pattern looks like it's going to continue, at least

for the first ten days or so of november. so as we look at the potential for rain not only in the bay area, but the north coast, southern california, here we have it. just absolutely nothing the next seven days. we'll continue to see the cold mornings, though, and probably we've got the heat cranked on. through the early part of the week still some 80s here. this is tuesday. we've got about 80 in antioch and livermore, still 70s around oakland, san francisco, let's take you into wednesday. coming down a couple degrees. can't really tell, right, the difference. we still have the yellows inland, some of the greens closer to the coast. and as we go into thursday, yeah, very, very little change. so i would call this a stagnant weather pattern underneath a big dome of high pressure that is not getting out of here any time soon. so as we transition into your sunday, once again, we've got numbers pretty much in the 70s although san francisco, half moon bay, with that little weak

sea breeze mid and upper 60s for you today. 71 in oakland, 70 palo alto, look for 78 in napa and then tonight certainly the cool spots once again in the north bay with the 30s, upper 30s livermore, 39 in morgan hill and the accuweather seven-day forecast, lots of sunshine with 60s, 70s, and maybe near 80 out by the delta. you download our accuweather app and try to make out the changes. we've got the cold mornings in some areas, some patchy frost, mild afternoon, and temperatures above normal. so you can by the middle of the week when we cool down a bit and add in a little bit of extra cloud cover, not really much change out there. and this has happened before. it really isn't representative of what kind of winter we're going to have but for now it's dry. >> what a difference a weeks makes, right. >> yeah. >> that's what's crazy to see too. thanks. the abc 7 family passed and present got together to say goodbye to a family member. dozens filled then san francisc

welcome back. as we reported earlier most of the mandatory evacuations from the kincade fire are downgraded or lifted completely. now it's time to bring your home back to normalcy. 7 on your side michael finney has good advice for when you get home. >> there is a lot they will have to do. if your neighborhood had a power outage start by checking with your neighbors to be sure they do not need your help. you will remember to reset digital timers, clocks and alarms but need to reset your network reuters. alarm systems and garage doors. you may need to restart your heating and air conditioning system too and that gets complicated or can. you need to check your owners manual or call in a professional. if your home was in or near a wildfire zone look for hot embers around your house, especially on the roof, under decks and in scrawl spaces. there could be water damage from fire fighting. you need to keep an eye out for

mold now. check for utility poles that might have been weakened. i just spoke with lloyd drake, he warns agains opening your >> so when you first enter your home, don't open your refrigerator to check. that's a bad idea. right? >> going in, and if you had no power and the refrigerator has been off, the last thing you want to do is open up that refrigerator and have the odor of the rotting food come out into the room. it's very hard to get rid of. it's actually a little bit harder than the soot. you can determine that right away. you can open for like half a second and then you'll know right away if it's rotted. if it is then you need to -- the next time you open it up, dumping all of the contents out of there and getting it out of the house as soon as possible. >> a couple other tips from
