district attorney. suzy loftus increased her lead with 51% of the vote. public defender, chesa boudin, has almost 49% of the vote. more than 2,200 votes separate the two. we should get another update on the vote count later today. another close race is for district 5 supervisor. brown is now ahead. she is just over 50.3% of the vote compared to dean preston's 49.7%. prop "d," a tax on rideshare rides also too close to call it needs a two-thirds majority to pass, right now yes barely has enough votes at 66.7%. the registrar of votes will release updated results today and we'll have the latest on abc7news.com. >> the time is 4:30. let's get a quick update on the

weather and traffic. let's start with mike. >> what you can see there is we're dealing with a lot of fog this morning. from south beach, the fog swallows the bay bridge. as you look to the east, towards treasure island, temperatures near 50 at the coast. let me show you this graphic quick. look at all of these reporting stations with less than a quarter mile visibility. santa rosa, petaluma, napa, hayward and a mile in oakland, and less than a quarter mile in concord. be careful out there this morning. >> thank you. this is a live look at the san mateo bridge. definitely foggy out there. low visibility. no fog advisory for the bridge yet. we're waiting to see if this will come down in the next hour or so. it does not look like it's clearing up. if you head over to the bay bridge, you can see that there's

a lot of fog across the top. obviously underneath the bridge as well. you can see better, but definitely the golden gate bridge this morning, be aware. really quickly here, tracy to dublin, antioch to concord, san rafael to san francisco, everything is green for the most part. >> thanks. happening today, the oakland raiders are honoring the b.a.r.t. employee who rescued a man from being hit from a train on sunday. >> amy hollyfield is in alameda with that and with what the man who was pulled from the tracks is now saying. amy? >> yeah. he is speaking out, reggie. he is a raiders fan. he was at the game on sunday. got separated from his group. he said he was at the b.a.r.t. station looking for his group when this happened. we have the incredible video of when he was rescued. you see him. he falls on to the track. that is 33-year-old rayshon

jackson. then a man grabs him and saves his life. it happens right before a train comes. jackson is now speaking out for the first time. he explained that moment. >> i knew i only had a couple seconds. i heard the train, i heard the vibration on the rails, and i could see the light. as soon as i seen the light, i jumped up, trying to get out of the way. i missed my first jump. i did it again. i actually felt like -- the man grabbed me in midair and took me out of the way. >> the man who saved him is a b.a.r.t. employee, john o'connor. he told jackson afterwards to pay it forward. jackson says he will. he said this entire experience has taught him how precious life is. reporting live from alameda, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. >> thank you for that. pg&e wants to raise your utility bill and today the california public utilities

commission will take up the issue. pg&e filed an application to increase rates starting on january 1st. the official amount has not been determined yet. pg&e told our media partner that electricity may cost an additional 9 a month. the utility says that money would go towards wildfire prevention, risk monitoring and emergency response. >> at the live desk, i'm tracking a possible break through in the trade war between the united states and china. according to china's commerce ministry, the two countries have agreed to stop tariff hikes as trade negotiations progress. the u.s. and china are in talks to reach a first phase agreement. if the deal is reached they will also cancel some tariffs currently in effect. both sides have imposed taxes on billions of dollars of goods over the past year. >> thank you. developing news, two twitter employees have been charged with spying for saudi arabia. this is the first time the u.s. attorney accused the saudi government of spying in america.

kate larsen has more. >> twitter has been a successful platform for people critical of the saudi royal family. >> reporter: according to federal prosecutors two twitter prosecutors looked up personal information of twitter users. >> one of the twitter employees was paid directly by the saudi royal family for his services. some $300,000. another looked up 6,000 accounts or more all at the interest of the saudi royal family. >> reporter: the story was broke a day after the criminal complaint was filed against the twitter employees. a u.s. citizen and former bay area resident, he was arrested on tuesday. in addition to money he allegedly accepted a designer watch from a saudi official. now a saudi citizen is presumably back in the middle east. one of the twitter accounts he allegedy hacked belonged to a prominent saudi dissident who was close to jamal khashoggi, "the washington post" columnist who was assassinated in istanbul

last year. >> most of the hacking happens inside the companies rather than comes from outside. >> reporter: this cybersecurity expert is chair of the security science program. he thinks the u.s. government needs to regulate big tech. >> we have to question the ability of the tech companies in the united states, how they are providing the privacy and security for their users' data. >> reporter: now, twitter put out a statement which says in part we recognize the lengths bad actors will go to try and undermine our service. we're committed to protecting those who use our service to advocate for equality, individual freedoms and human rights. i'm kate larsen, back to you. >> thanks for that. california regulators are investigating facebook. the attorney general says he wants to know if the company violated laws involvinging privacy and third party access to private data. the investigation has been under way for more than a year now. he says facebook ignored subpoenas.

elsewhere. let's look at other neighborhoods. it takes coffee 20 minutes to kick in. i should have started about 20 minutes ago. mid to upper 40s in the east bay valleys. up in the north bay valleys also. it is clear here as you head south on 680, the 24, you can see some of that fog develops. also fog in concord this is fog at sfo. we'll have some delays. caution out there, the fog is creating dangerously low visibility. it will be around there for the entire morning commute. you can see through 9:00 in the north bay, then breaking out in sunshine. we'll break out from the 40s to the mid 70s from 1:00 to 4:00. 56 at 7:00. east bay, we'll be in the fog through 9:00. sunshine this afternoon. we'll try to touch 70. 59 at 7:00. here's a look at san francisco. the fog will linger a little bit roh.er, so will the 50s. it will be kind of a fuzzy day

ukraine's president. but barr reportedly declined. the white house, while dismissing the hearings, is raising its defense adding two long-time trump allies to the team to come up with a better strategy of pushing back. korina mitchell, abc news, new york. improving street safety is part of building a better bay area. in san francisco one mfocus is n a major street. a coffee chat was held with neighbors about planned changes on paid street. the project is intended to decrease traffic and create bike lanes. >> we are working on paid street to see what we can do to divert traffic off of paid street and making sure people can move around the neighborhood and we're not causing undue burden on other streets. >> an 18-month pilot project implementing the change also

bay. we have more widespread fog than we've had at any time this week and this season for that matter. it will lead to a milder afternoon with fuzzy sunshine. grab those sunglasses you will need them eventually. rinse and repeat tonight. more fog coming at us. that dry and mild pattern will persist. here's a look at the cloud cover, it goes all the way into the central valley. by noon it should fade faster than yesterday. some still lingering around over the bay water. not as much as yesterday. at the coast some sunshine will break out. let's look at what our temperatures will do today. we have near 80 yucaipa, 82. 78 in antioch and livermore and concord. san jose, 76. 60s for richmond. san francisco, 66. oakland and san mateo around 71 degrees. temperatures tonight back into the 40s for all of us.
